NC, belated Happy Bday to your DD, too! :bday: Hope she had lots of pretty boxes to unwrap...

Shelly, congrats on your new pink Cybershot! I think you will really like it...it's a great lil' camera. And YAY on the airfare!!! Well, with fuel prices coming down so much (even if it's temporary), that's only fair...hey fair fare, get it?

RF how's it goin' hon?

uh let's see...I'm making Thanksgiving dinner at my house, will have at least my youngest DS here, not sure if the other two will be at their dad's or what the plan is.

I voted for Obama, no indecision. I feel our country desperately needs a new direction. The most important issues to me are getting out of Iraq, building positive relationships with the rest of the world again, fixing the floundering economy, health care, social security, the environment, investing in clean renewable energy, keeping jobs in America and reducing unemployment, education, and...*gulp* please don't throw anything at me :scared::duck:...medical marijuana. On every one of those issues, I read and listened to what both candidates were saying, and I liked Obama's ideas much better.

Here's the thing -- I know the guy is an idealist, and I know he can't implement everything he would like, everything he imagines or hopes for. There are serious budget limitations, and the president doesn't have absolute power, he's got to get everyone to go along with his ideas, too (will be easier with a Dem majority all around, though). But at least I like his ideas, and I think he will head us back in the right direction. America sure needs a compass at this point to know which direction to go.

And just one thing -- very gently, I promise  -- about the abortion issue, because I know that a lot of people feel very strongly about it. I, too, oppose abortion. I volunteered for a long time at a center that offered support to unwed moms and women facing unplanned pregnancies. I did peer counseling, led a Bible study for women who had had abortions and were suffering mental and emotional stress because of that. I also saw the aftermath of illegal abortion -- some of our clients had abortions years ago when they weren't legal, or had used unsafe, illegal means because they were trying to hide their secret. And the results can be devastating. Simply making it illegal isn't going to stop it from happening -- education will be the best deterrent. I used to vote Republican because I believed that issue was so important to the Republican party. But we had a combined 20 years of Reagan, Bush Sr., and then Bush Jr., and abortion laws haven't changed, the overall number of abortions hasn't decreased. So I realized that may be part of the Republican party platform, but they seem to be a lot more concerned about other issues like the business and taxes and war, and I don't agree with those policies. So...that's enough soapbox... love ya guys! :flower3:

Mornin my MAYers.

I've been at Mcat's school, talking with her and her counselor.:guilty: Poor baby- she is so stressed out over her Honors algebra. Her program is INTENSE. And of course what she learned in PA isn't anywhere near what they've been teaching here. So she started out behind from the start. And she is sooo driven and so focused- she's been crying since she got home yesterday from school, in between doing homework- until 10 pm last night.

So I decided I was going to pull her out of Honors. It just truly isn't worth her mental state, just to say she made an A in Honors. So we went in and her counselor is awesome. She said let's look at your grade- she's got an 82.
And she said "Well, I can't get you out of that class UNLESS you have an 80 or below. Do you understand what I am SAYING to you?? I have only told one other student this in the history of my 22 years of being a counselor, but honey, you are thirteen and life shouldn't be this stressful on you. Transcripts from the 8th grade aren't even used for college acceptance. So we'll fix it, but you HAVE to be below an 80 for me to do it. Do you understand???"

Mary Cat Bawled- then I started crying and then the counselor started crying.

So anyway- she has a test today in Algebra...
to which I told her to bomb. Big time. I get the cool Mom award today! hahaha

SO now I have to take Beau Gator the Bulldog to the vet and get that over with. He's only four- so I am really hating this.

You know what I think is cool??????????

I think it's cool that the MAYers all talked about their political feelings- and we all survived. ;) I think it's neat- and it helps me feel closer to all of you for opening up- kind of like I know you all a bit better now.

So any way- medical marijuana... that's something I do think sould be totally legal. I know that when my Daddy's cancer got so painful that Oxycontin wasn't touching it, I would have given him anything to stop the pain. So um, yeah. Smoke em if you got em... legally of course.

:hippie:

Katiebell- here's the link to my Trippie. It's already long, you know me! I'm getting ready to start our MNSSHP day- and it was a fun one!http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1999358

Hum... do I smell Birthday Cake?????? Is it New Crew's BDay today???/

Happy 29th Birthday girl!    :cheer2: :cheer2: :dance3:

Okay- gotta get ready to go. I'll be back after I go to the vets and then to McD's to get Beau Gator a cheeseburger- IF he was a good boy at the Dr's office.

TTYL- jo

Hey all!

I have been looking into that deal on mousesavers to see what it's all about. No word yet. But, if it does end up being a fantastically amazing deal. How does it work if I need to move my airfare? Do they charge me more? Does it matter as long as I keep it with Air tran? Maybe if they let me move it and it's cheaper - they'll give me a credit for another trip!

I don't know.... maybe I'm getting ahead of myself. I can't wait until it's posted! :surfweb: I'll keep waiting.........:rolleyes1

We'll see. :goodvibes

Hey RF! :goodvibes It's supposed to be announced at 5:00pm! I hear it's going to be too good to pass up! ;)

I'm not sure about the AirTran thing. . . They might charge you to change flights. . . But they will likely change your flight time and then you can cancel altogether if you want. That's what I had to do and boy am I glad because I am now paying $64 on SW. :goodvibes

THANKS Shelly... I got the PM.... i'm hoping it is true I would go with my DD.... well i'll try for another family trip with my DH, DSS, DD and myself... we'll see....

Maybe this is really stupid, but I can't decide if this could be a good deal for us or not....

How do I figure this out? And do I just call and cancel the ressie that I have already and try to get a new one... ?

I am soooo confused.

Apparantly this isn't as hush hush as it seems. There is like 40 pages on another post about the code since yesterday (on the Dis) and another on TGM that people are buzzing about

well RF wait until the actual deal comes out and price it out. DO NOT cancel your existing ressie until you have it all figured out. You also should take into consideration if they will charge you a cancel fee. But from what I hear it should be a great deal....

Afternoon MAYers! :goodvibes

RF - Don't cancel anything yet!

There are several rumors floating around out there in DIS-land! What I told you was supposedly straight from a CM. On the DIS I have heard several versions of that story. . . . I guess we'll see shortly! Hopefully! :wizard: :goodvibes

Oh, and what I heard was Jan-March. But Mousesavers does say the first half of 2009, which to me would be Jan-June. . .

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up before it actually comes out so you could run your figures! It's supposedly going to be limited space too. . .

i didn't cancel anything! promise! i heard jan - march also.... so it souldn't even apply to me anyways because we are set on may! :flower3: i already booked airfare - so if it was for different dates that would i had, then it wouldn't really be benificial for me anyways.

i'm not going to get too excited about it - i am just curious to see what the deal is :rolleyes1

Well, short of a lottery win, I don't see WDW in the cards for us 2009...we might go back to DL in May before Memorial Day or Sept for my bday week, we'll see. Depends on our pixiedust depletion levels  Seriously, though, we have some bills I want to pay down/off, and need some home repairs...but travel, especially travel to Disney keeps us sane. :rotfl2:
