If it were being held on a weekend - I would be there in an instant.... But, I just don't think that it is worth it for me to drive over there and back and pay for parking etc.... on a 45 minute lunch break.... :guilty:

Makes me sad - I feel like there may be more than meets the eye for this event, you know? I wish that I could go, I just don't see it happening - unless I take my CWW day that day, hmmm...... That's a possibility. (Every other week I come in at 7:30 instead of 8:30 and I get a 1/2 day one day during my 7:30 week - It's a "Condensed Work Week")

They're usually scheduled for us - but I can always switch it no problem..... Hmmm..... we'll see.

They don't give any real times - so that makes it kinda hard to figure out to, for sure.

Hi Everyone!

Sounds like lots of fun happening around here.

I really think the Zinc stuff is working. Now if my new super duper vitamins will kick in, I'll be great!!!

Jo - Sounds like the WDW plans are coming together. Don't quit trying. You know the NewCrews were able to land every ADR we wanted and all at the last minute. We are heading up your way on Friday, stayind at our favorite hotel of course. I plan on sleeping in game morning, having a fabulous omlet and then heading out to the game. Do you know what section you guys are in?

RF - Congrats on getting everything out of the apartment. I know that is a lot of work. How is your new job going?

Shelly - Hooray for saving $100! :woohoo: Now you have to plan another trip to use your credit.

Sea- My goodness, heat and earthquakes, oh my! :scared1:

Mari - Glad you had fun on your trip! Keep us posted on your DSS.

Sulley - Any news on your next job at WDW? Will you stay with M:S?

Well, I will check in with you guys later. Need to pick up dd.

Oh, I had 3 hours worth of dental work today. I think I am falling apart. :confused3 It must be old age, since I am older than Mari's DH.

RF - Here's a post from a girl from the January thread that just went to the Disney Celebration thing in her town.

I'm still undecided. . .

So, call me crazy! I took the day off of work to drive an hour just to see what all of the hoopla was about with this Celebration Tour. Well, I was driving down Michigan Avenue in Milwaukee when I saw thousands of Mickey Head balloons.:goodvibes So I park and walk over to the Farmer's Market. Cast Members were handing out balloons with a gold envelope attached to the balloon that said "You're Invited". Inside the envelope is a code for the Celebration website. Problem is that I already registered my email address for the day, so I will have to wait until tomorrow to see if I won anything.:confused3 Would I drive an hour again for this, maybe....it was a nice fall day today, but I was expecting a bit more. Mickey himself was on the local Fox Newscast this morning. I will have to see if I win an instant prize. If not, oh well, my daughters will fight for the cut balloon!

Could i ask the MAYers for some of their prayers???????

My Mom just left me a message, saying that she is in the ER- she has something called costochondritis in her side- and she deals with bouts of pain on and off. Well, this time it has hit her and it hasn't gone away. She went to her Dr this morning and they gave her 800 mg Ibuprofen and sent her home after a few xrays.
The pain is so bad it's making her sick to her stomach... and she couldn't take it anymore so she went to the ER.

And I'm not there to help.

Please say a prayer for her...
thanks MAYers.

Jo

I really don't know much, and actually til it was mentioned on this thread didn't even know about the Celebration tour thing....

But then again, my knowledge of what happens in the world outside Disney is SEVERELY limited :). If it's not in this thread, CNN Headline News or on the mobile version of the MSNBC website, I probably have no clue.

NC - I "skill coded" (basically signed a sheet) to go full-time a week ago, but it's probably going to be a month or so before anything full-time opens in our area and there's at least one person ahead of me on the list that I know of. So in the meantime, I'm still a CP. I'm going to stay in the Future World East area, which includes SE, Energy, M:S, and TT. I'll probably just stay at M:S for the moment and hopefully cross-train at one of the others later. I'm also going to put in for trainer next time it comes up so that I can train new CMs at M:S.

Prayers and Pixie Dust on their way Jo....Let us know what happens.

Anaheim is mostly hotels and motels. Garden Grove, Santa Ana, Garden Grove and Buena Park - all these cities are about 5 miles or less from DLR.

Check out this web site and link for a home that is 3 blocks from DL. You will definitely hear the fireworks every night. :D

Sea

Hey Sea - I have a question for you. A good friend of mine will be going to California in April for her cousin's wedding. She (the cousin) is going to be getting married in San Diego and they then my friend will be visiting her other uncle who lives in Anaheim. Also, they want to go to DL for a few days. She is looking to rent a condo or a house for like 10 people. Do you have any suggestions for where they should stay that's close(ish) to all of those places?

Thanks for any help!

Thanks y'all-
My Aunt- my Mom's twin- just called and I was able to talk to Mom for a second. They've given her morphine and Phenergan for nausea- (she's like me----drugs make her wack-o) and Prednisone and some other stuff.

I am just sick that i'm not there. I hate being away from home.:guilty:

Thanks for the prayers, guys.
:grouphug:

Jo

Prayers for your mama, and hugs for you  Where does she live? My mom is in Montana, and I worry about her all the time.

Thank you so much for the prayer- y'all will never know how much I appreciate it.

The phone rang this morning at 6:30- and I was terrified that they had to take her back to the Hospital- but it was my Mom sounding much btter and stronger than yesterday. When she went to the ER they did an EKG- b/c they were afraid she might be having a Heart attack- and just presenting with different symptoms- everyone is different. anyway- the EKG looked good.
She's on some pain Killers, anti-nausea pills, Prednisone and a host of other stuff.

She is staying with my Aunt until she feels better- and my cousin, who is a Nurse Practitioner, is over there monitoring her in-between shifts, which makes me feel so much better.

I was ready to hop the plane to SC- It stinks being so far from home- and Daddy gone and me, the only child. Okay, pity party for Jo.

:guilty:

Jo

Whelp- Pity Party for Jo didn't last long....
:rotfl:

I got a gander at the ole ticker- and now I am happy.

I think that's what i'm feeling.:confused3 :rotfl2:

Anyway- thanks again for praying for my Momma!

MAYers prayers are the best stuff around.:grouphug:

Jo

Yes, very good news! And wonderful that she has a sister to stay with, and that your cousin is a NP -- your mom is in very good hands :thumbsup2

Yay for your ticker!!! That calls for a Mayer Banana Dance!!!

:banana::banana::banana::snooty::snooty::snooty: :banana::banana::banana:

My son paid for a massage for me for my birthday, the appointment was yesterday...ooh, it was wonderful. I felt like a noodle afterward, and I'm not quite sure how I managed to go grocery shopping and then drive home in that noodle-like state  I woke up early today and posted more on my trip report, but now...(insert ominous music here)...my vacation is over and I must go back to work today :sad2::scared::sad1::guilty::eek:

I know...with the economy the way it is, I should be grateful as heck that I have a job at all. But I just want to go back to Disney, live in that little fantasy bubble where you don't think about money or bills or politics or traffic or...any of that icky depressing stuff. *sigh*

Alright. You know the drill.

"I owe, I owe, so off to work I go..."

I am SO BUMMED and MAD - Mickey's Philharmagic is going to be closed for rehab the second half of January!!!  :sad2: That's my favorite thing in MK. I was expecting some major rehabs going in January, just didn't expect that one. So far that's the only thing I'm going to miss I think. There are other MK rehabs before I get there. There's nothing scheduled at the other parks. . . Do you suppose they will announce those later or there actually aren't going to be any???:confused3

awww - KB - that is depressing.

I understand where you're coming from though... there was a period of time after i got home from my honeymoon when i didn't want to do anything.... our bills were being paid late our laundry was not getting done at all. Bob and I just wanted to go to Disney where I meals were paid for and the hardest decision we had to make was whether we wanted to keep that ADR all the way in Epcot when we were at MK....

Just start planning your next trip - it helps :rotfl:

Jo- I am so glad to hear about your mom. Keep us posted - but she seems like she is in great hands

Morning everyone! :cool1:

Shelly - I'm sorry! That stinks!!!!! That was the big reason that I couldn't go in the value season. Bob and I are riders and I was afraid that there would just too many refurbs.

That sucks - Phillharmagic is my fav at MK too. :guilty:

Hey- KB- Have a good day at work. I'm so sorry the vacation is over. Whille we are all grateful for jobs, we can all be a little saddened that we are not independently wealthy.:rotfl: If we were, we could all live at WDW. I'd take Adventureland.pirate: That way I could look at Captain Jack all day, live off of Dole Whips, cruise thru the jungle when I'm feeling adventurous and sleep in a treehouse made just for me.:lovestruc

Where would you live, MAYers???

Shelly- I'm afraid that they are always adding to their refurb lists- but maybe you'll get lucky and it won't be bad. MPhil is one of my faves too.
