may 12, 2012 7 Night Western on the Fantasy

Hello everyone!!

It dawned on me that I didn't put my childrens' actual names on the FE list. Our daughters are Madison (age 9) and Emily (age 6). Our son, Noah, is four and staying in my parents' cabin (Cabin #8024).

Thirty days and counting!! :cheer2:

Yay! Fun! We should try for the first sea day meet. All aboard day can get a bit wild with everyone boarding the ship, checking in to their room, sail away party, etc...

Sounds awesome.....

Thanks for the run down on the Rainforest thinking about doing on Sunday (for Mother's Day) for me, my mother and MIL>

I agree! We should have all the boys meet up :)

Us girls should all try to meet in Ooh la la for a glass of champagne at some point. Although, since it's not "Pink" this time, maybe the boys will want to join us, too. ;)

If someone wants to propose a date/time/place for the 3-4 yo boys meetup, I'll post it on page 8.

For the girls champagne meetup (men are invited too!), how does 5 PM May 13 sound (1st at sea day)?

Added their names to the FE list :)

That's okay, I haven't started dividing up all the candy yet. I have finals until April 26, then it's all about the cruise!

Oh good luck with finals, what are you studying?

That sounds great, I will probably need to look at the navigators next week to see about kid club times. I am a little uneasy about having him in there without me during open house times. As long as it is secured programing..count me in ;)

I just finished ordering the last of my FE supplies!! Hope they are here next week so I can finish them up :) I also started working on my FE. Hoping it all works out like I have it pictured in my head!

Ladies, I turn my back for 5 minutes and the talk turns to alcohol ...... Yay!! :)

Thanks for all the great packing lists, I've spotted loads of things that I would have forgotten!
I've pre-purchased a rain forest room pass and can't wait to try it out :)
I've been looking through the MV navigators and noticed that they had Champagne tasting at Ooh La La on the first sea day
I wonder if it will be the same on our cruise?
That would be a great way for us to meet up :)

Linda, where do you see that? I see Martini and Wine seminars, but didn't see a champagne until Thursday. I could have overlooked something though.

Sorry, you are correct. I've just double checked and it's on the second sea day at 1pm at Ooh La La
I am going to sign up for this if it's happening on our cruise :goodvibes

How about we do the kiddie meet up first full morning (Sunday) at the early Disney Jr event? On the MV Navigator, it's 9am in the D Lounge, wake up with Disney Jr.
It might be a little less hectic than kids club... Any other ideas?

I like mothers day at five for ladies champagne! :thumbsup2

Love the idea of the Disney Jr. event for the little ones to meet. Should we try and identify a location as there will probably be a lot of kiddos having fun there?

Getting the cruise docs sure does make it all the more exciting and more "real" doesn't it?!! Woohoo!! We're SO close now!! Can't wait!!

Getting my FE gifts together. This is our first time to participate in an FE, so I am hoping we are doing it "right". I know I have read online there is no "right way"... but you don't want it to be too trivial. I wanted it to be personal from our family and also be something fun to use onboard and something little and fun to keep. So, I am a BIG Pirates person and my little Johnnie is addicted to his (lego) pirates. My daughter has a terrific rubber duck collection, so... can you guess where I'm going? haha! Hoping to add some fun to the Pirate party with our FE gifts. We are also making one homemade (obviously, sorry) gift per cabin. Probably more than I needed to share, I'm just SO excited!! :-) I'm hoping it will be a good FE gift.

Was reading over the tendering instructions for Grand Cayman posted through allears and got concerned about timing. We have never been on the western cruise before and would love any advice! It states that if you are not on an excursion, you can begin picking up your tender tickets at 10:30 and they will continue until 1:00 or not necessary. Then the last tender is at 4:00. We had planned to do GC on our own, but is it possible it will take so long to get off the boat using the tenders that it could mean just a couple quick hours off the boat before you have to be back? I have watched that sad youtube video of the guy running down the dock trying to "flag down" the boat as they sail away without him. Being the type of person that frequently runs late... I make sure we are on board WAY before that last tender... Sorry getting long...

Will there be an extremely long "line" to catch a tender or can we plan on being ashore pretty quickly after that 10:30 start time (if we are there ready when they "open" the line at 10:30)? Wondering if it would be worth it then to take an excursion so that you can get off the boat earlier/ without having to wait in a line?? Thanks for the advice!!

If I remember correctly, DLounge is round and I think there is a small stage at one end... Shall we go for the left of the stage? Of course it's just a no reason made up idea, so I'm totally open to other suggestions :)

Great idea that sounds like a lot of fun! Are there any older girls out there by any chance DD is 7.5.

Love the champagne idea too :thumbsup2

I use to be a member of TGM it is a WDW planning site and we use to order pins to we could identify each other in our "months" club. I will try and find the site, but you create a pin that is unique. We can order a small one and put it on our lanyards??? The pins are super cheap. I usually order 4 and I put them on my backpack too. It's usually around $3. If that sounds interesting let me know.

Fantastic idea! :yay:

Hi! I've been gone for a little while again. DS is doing well, growing like a little weed. I can't believe he's 15 pounds already. I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what size diapers to bring for the cruise... oh well. I still have time to think about that... and make packing lists. Before DS it was easy... not it's more to pack. :)

I was reading through the older posts.. and there too much to quote... but I remember some things I wanted to comment on

I won't put DS in the pool with a swim diaper... it sucks, but it's for everyone else's safety. Theres a cool water play area for him now. DH is excited to play there.. haha. :yay:

I like the idea of meets!!! I can't wait to meet all of you. This group sounds like a lot of fun. Champagne... I probably won't drink because DS is still nursing, but DH will, and I just like to socialize and steal sips.:banana: Even though DS is going to be 6 months, I'd still like to go to the Disney Jr. meet.

The paint samples at HD are a good way to be seen, but on some previous cruises we had lime green bracelets (like the lance armstrong kind, silicone) with the cruise logo and dates on it. They came out to be less than $2 each, and with this group being about 3 times bigger I would only imagine their going to be cheaper. I went through reminderbands.com. I'd be happy to place an order and bring them to the port if there was interest. They are an easy way to identify others, and they can get wet, and be worn all the time. They come in 3 sizes: kids (to age 5-6), adult s (7 3/8") adult l (8 3/8")

We did this on the last Meet up... easier to find people! You can't miss me in a room, I am the 6 foot tall mom. :) But not like you can tell when I sit down... ha.

I was wondering the same thing. We are signed up for the tour that includes a stop to see the turtles. However, weighing the possibility of long tender wait lines and too little time ashore vs. looking at some cool turtles......:confused3

Loving all the meet up ideas! I'm traveling with my teen DD, so I may have a lot of private time if she likes the teen club. :yay:

Also love the wristband or pin ideas to more easily spot each other.

Here's my tip of the day. I just received my baggallini messenger bag from Amazon. It's a really light weight canvas bag with a comfortable side shoulder strap. Handy and comfortable for carrying your camera, sunglasses, etc. - even big enough for an IPAD. It also has a zippered compartment on the front strap that's large enough for cash/credit cards/phone. My DD took one look at it, and pleaded to have one for herself for school!
