I just got off the phone after my Adventures By Disney interview. My interviewer was so nice. She asked a lot of tough questions though and I was presented with several role playing scenarios. She was so nice that I can't tell whether she meant it everytime she said "good answer" or some such thing as that.

At the end, I found out that this is only the first step. She told me that I wouldn't hear anything for about two weeks and then I would learn if I was called back in for the next step. The next step involves bringing in several candidates together to see how they interact and how they speak in front of a group. That would occur during the first part of November.

I'm sure you'll do just fine Susie! Based on the interviewers previous questions and scenerios, and what you know of your field, maybe you can practice the next part of the interview before you actually go in. I often "quiz" my family with questions before any of them go in for an important interview. I'm not sure if my questions really help, but it does get them thinking and imagining what the actual interview might be like, so they are prepared psychologically. Again, let you great self shine through, be "Disney," and I think you'll be great!

It absolutely helps - that is why we role play in school and it is a strong tool for psychologists.... even if we feel dorky doing it! :dance3:

:goodvibes OK if anyone is going to be around WDW/EPCOT on 10/28 here is a plan if ya are interested.

Date:10/28
Time: 5:00 PM till ???
Place: The red Telephone booth at Great Britain, (not inside, because I don’t think we would all fit, but it would make a good college prank thingie, wait it has already been done, never mind) :hippie:
What’s Up: A gastronomic dining walk around World Showcase sampling the fare of the different kiosks which represent the finest from the various boards of fare from their homelands.

Credit cards or your key to the world card works well to pay with. (it worked in the past)

See ya there. :thumbsup2 :cool1: party: :welcome: :drinking1

We'd love to be there, but I think I have to work at the Riverside until 6pm. We'll have to find you along the way! Just let us know which direction you'll be eating.....toward Canada or toward France?

Hope to see you soon! Connie Chuck and Patrick

Well kids it has been windy here , Lynn recorded a gust of 60.4 MPH this afternoon.

I was going to get out of work early today but that did not happen. 54 hours in 4 days, I need a vacation, but have to take office cell and be ready for all or two.

We leave Cheyenne tomorrow morn for Denver and then to MCO early Sat morn. YEAH!!!!!!

I want to get in a five mile run tomorrow morn before I get boarding passes on line.

Will hit the Denver Zoo and who knows what else.

Time for last minute packing….

Will have my wireless card to keep in touch, KEWL!!!!!

It's windy here. I don't know what it's been gusty to, but much of the power is out in the area. Which is unusual, usually we are the ones without power!

Yeah We Made It, At OKW, long day yesterday, Travel, grocery shopping, then met up with Linda , Kay, Ashley and Karen m and their son Gary.
Grocery shopping is draining, don’t know why but it is. Then we are on the 3ed floor room, so it took a few trips to get all the stuff upstairs.. Good work out for sure

It seem like trips to WDW and DL are becoming family reunions , this is KEWL!!!!

Will activate out AP’s this morning at MK. Going to MK first is a tradition.

Shuttle launch tuesday KEWL!!!!

It was fun meeting Lynn and Scott at EPCOT just by chance yesterday!
My friend, Cathy and I were taking in some tastings :drinking1at the Food and Wine Festival, and Chuck and Pat were going over to Off Kilter to have them sing Happy Birthday to Patrick.:rockband: They went on Thursday, his REAL 30th birthday, :bday:but it started pouring rain before the show, and they left. Yesterday it waited until after the show to start raining. So Patrick got his wish! :rainbow:

It really IS a Small World, The couple we sat next to at the wine tasting were from Illinois, and the knew all my relatives and friends around Shabbona, Paw Paw, Rochelle and Malta! They even knew who was divorced from who, and Rosalie had made wedding favors for one of my 2nd cousin's wedding! it's just amazing who you will see at WDW! ::MickeyMo

Connie we got over the Canada just as they started to Sing Happy B-Day... KEWL!!!

Hi guys, Well, its been a very busy week here! We (us and Kathy, Ted and the kids) went to the Halloween party at DL on Friday where we saw quite a few of our Disboard friends (literally for minutes at a time.) It was lots of fun - but I suspect that WDW is much bigger than ours here (it will take a few years.) Then the CHOC (Children's hospital of Orange County) 5K walk was on Sunday morning. It should be called the 5K shuffle because there were so many people that it took us 1:45 min. to get through the walk. The Santa Ana winds had just kicked up driving our sinuses crazy. But it got much worse as most of you have seen on the news it has become a state of emergency. Many of our CA disboard friends have been evacuated and are moving to family. We are ready to take in several and I know Kathy has already been taking people and animals in. We are in the safety zone, but the smell of fire is horrible. The winds and heat are not helping today! Some of you may remember that I lost my home and all of my pets in a fire 15 years ago, its a nightmare, so we're praying that our friends don't lose theirs too. Keep the pixy dust coming our way and don't let it blow past us in the wind! :scared1:

Hey, you guys have a great time in WDW this week.

It looks like the fire threat is letting up for us now. The evacuations were getting very close (less than a mile) when we went to bed last night. So, we went ahead and packed the cars with essentials before going to bed. Our alternate location was to go to Curt's father's apartment which seemed to be clear of any threat. Lo and behold, we woke up this morning to find out that the southern fire had travelled so fast as to threaten the facility he is in and they evacuated it to another facitlity. Our daughter is still in an non-threatened area. She has mostly packed up though, just in case.

It's times like these that you realize how much stuff you have collected that is just not essential. We still had space left in our cars after we had loaded them. Everything else was just not that important to us. I'm going to make an effort to start getting rid of things that I don't really need.

Thanks Kelly for your phone call yesterday and offer of a place to stay if we needed it. Have you heard anything more from Anna?

Hello everyone - I have been thinking about all of you during our transition. Susie and Kelly - my prayers are with you in all the CA fire craziness. About the 28th, we can possibly meet too. We would love to get in on the WDW partying. I will let you know as it gets closer. We would love to see everyone and wish Patrick a belated Happy Birthday. We are in a rental home right now and won't be moving in to our new home until December 9th. Florida is wonderful and the people are great. If I can sell my home in Phoenix, I would be smiling a little bit more, but it will work out. Will be in touch about the weekend. :cool1:

I have been invited to participate in the next stage of the interview process. It will be on November 14th at the Paradise Pier Hotel (all day). I need to prepare a 2 minute DVD as an orientation to the Wyoming ABD trip and prepare a 2 minute introduction about myself. The rest will be impromptu. 2 minutes seems pretty short.

That is great Susie. Are you excited? Please let us know how it goes.:)

Kelly, Susie, Kathy and any of the rest of you near the fire:hug: You are all in our thougths. Stay safe.

Susie: Good luck on the second interview. I know you'll do great.

Sandi: It's nice to see you posting! December 9 will be here before you know it.

Thanks for the PD:wizard: - It seems to be working. The Santa Ana winds were much better today. We evacuated yesterday afternoon to DH's uncle's house as the fire came within 2 miles of our house. However, we were able to return tonight after dinner when the evacuation orders for our area were lifted:banana: . We will keep the car packed up for now, and I'm sure I'll sleep with the TV on again tonight, but it will be nice to sleep in my own bed.

Thank you to all my DIS friends for offers of places to stay. Kelly & Kathy, if this had gone on much longer, I'd have been headed in one of your directions:) .
Susy, I'd heard from Kelly that you were ok - yea! Congrats on the 2nd interview - oodles of pixie dust for you!!

Anna

Hi Kelly, Thanks for the updates on our DIS friends and the fire. I was thinking about Kathy since she is in San Diego. How far is it from her neighborhood?

I haven't been reading the boards lately, who all is going ot WDW this weekend?? Maybe we will stop by...

Jen

Suzie if ya need the inside Wyoming scoop let me know.

It is HOT!!!!! Here.

Found a way to make a weight vest for running, simply wear a cotton shirt for your morning run, it will be soaked with 2000 pounds of sweat in about 50 yards.

My 3.5 miles this morn were the fastest ever for me, scary.

MNSSHP last night was fun, very heavy rain about 11:30ish, we were in the HM and came out to a down pour of Biblical Proportions, glad we had our bumbershoots.

One Nephew and BIL arrive tomorrow with a band group. So we will be at AK Thursday, MGM Friday, and MK in the morn on Sat, before the golf event.

See some of ya soon,

Well, today I tried to open my door to get a smidgen of fresh air in my house and it smelled like wet smoky dog. It was so bad I had to close it immediately! Much like Kathy's house now smells because she has been taking in everyone's animals. My front and back yards are a disaster and my hundreds of blooming roses were blown away. The car and ground is covered with ash.

Anna's house was by far the closest to the fire (it was within 1-2 miles of her house - sparks can travel 2 miles) and we were on pins and needles watching out for her for the past 48 hours. She is still not out of danger, so Scott please send some biblical rain our way! It's still going to be around 93 degrees today, but the winds have slowed. It's so nice to see some of the national shows again today. I've felt a little cut off from the rest of the country.

Hey all----

I"m so glad to hear people are out of danger out there, as well. It's just unbelievable to watch on the news or hear on the radio. I'm surprised you're getting so much effect in your area, too, Kelly.....I suppose that means that Jason and I should expect it might be similar when we get there next weekend if it's not under control by then? YIPES!!
