what a nice surprise.i didnt use points . i think the gift is is from the dvc sales people on board. i think the boxes are going out to all dvc members.

We just got home about 30 min ago and found a box from DVC on our doorstep. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone else, but it looks like they are sending these to people who booked the transatlantic using points.

Anyone else get anything?

We also got the box in the mail today, KEWL!!!!

Hey Scott - just a note to let you know - we did not ride bikes to Terry Ranch today. We called up there and they said it was raining like crazy, it was pretty nice, a little cool here, but now there is lots of thunder and rain is coming.......

I talked with the Hyatt today to confirm our reservation - they are even going to have a birthday cake delivered to the room for Maggie's (DGD) birthday - she will be thrilled. We are having her birthday party tomorrow, but actual birthday is the 11th.

Also had to break down and buy tickets to fly to Orlando - flights were just getting too full. So use to flying under airline benefits, I guess I really can't or rather shouldn't, complain about having to buy a ticket now and then and this way there is no stress.

A few odds and ends to finish up this week then start packing - yeah - I'm one of those that will be packing Thursday night.

Barb,

Just made it home after the rain hit Lynn said it was pretty nasty, as far as rain goes, wierd with no wind. Still spitting a little.

Very KEWL!

DCL called yesterday to make sure I had my own transfers arranged. I told them I did, but while I had them on the phone, I asked about the magnets....
She was very nice and transferred me to the Castaway Club person. They are "researching" the magnets for me, so we'll see:rotfl2:

Also cleared Delta's waitlist for BCN-ATL on 5/27:banana:  but still waitlisted for ATL to anywhere in Southern CA:confused3 :rotfl2: . I'm really jazzed about confirming the BCN-ATL part though. That was the tricky one. Our Original flights were through Paris & Houston and involved too short a layover for me in Paris and a really long layover in Houston.:sad2:

Cindy, I know you are looking for the BCN-ATL flight also. Can you stay an extra day and go on the 5/27 flight? Seems to be more availablity on that one.

Need to get back to packing now....:rolleyes1

That's the flight we are on to Atl. Glad you got on it!

Are there any PJ parties for the kids while on board? I am finally working on packing!

I am sorry for all of the questions. Since this is my first cruise and DH's first cruise with children we are LOST!

THANKS!

I know the 3 -7 have a slumber party with Goofy.

Is there water in the pools before we set sail? My DM and DH said that cruise ships do not fill the pools till after we depart. I was wondering if Disney does it differently then other cruise lines?

Yep, they are usually full of water and not people on sail away day. Have the kids wear their suits under their clothes. That way they can go swimming without changing.

I heard that in LA and Chicago they only take the first 18 people in line. Once they hit 18 people, they close for the day. (supposedly it takes a full work day to handle 18 people)

Any truth to it??

Have no idea. They offer appointments, but I have no idea if they are real or just a way to try and thin the herds. They also offer walk in service, so maybe that is where the 18 comes from. Only 18 walk ins. I do know that my friends said the appointment was a joke and that it took forever.

I was wondering for those of you staying at the Hyatt the night before, Ken, Brooklyn, etc, are you taking the DCL transfers out to the port, or renting cars at the airport the next day?

I am getting in late Friday night @9:00 pm, but am driving out to Port Canaveral and staying at the Country Inn there.

Yep, DCL transfers. Figure we can get an early one and join the line up at the door!

Yes, I really need to get that worked out as well.... NOT!!!!! You will have to catch me first! Had a few excellent conversations today where people expressed total shock that I will be out of contact for my Transatlantic cruise. Umm, it is a vacation?!

 C.

What is up with that? What if there were no cell phones or laptops??? How did my grandmother and grandfather ever enjoy themselves in Europe without all the electronic connection devices?

Thanks for the reminder to pack underwear. I did forget one vacation - no underwear and no sleepwear. Thankfully, I was able to make a Walmart stop. Guess I won't be able to do that on the cruise.

Don't put post-it notes on the door. I think that is one of the things that DCL said they were having a problem with. I'm hoping to post all the upgrade cabin numbers on the message boards before handing them out. So let me know at the port or at the 3:00 DIS meet (or call me - cabin #6639). Also, I volunteered to keep the master list of cabin numbers, so people can call me for that information also.

Cool, made a note of it!!

Good Morning All

Erik--Glad you made it safe and sound even if a bit worse for wear.:)

Laundry--Personally I am hoping to avoid doing it on this trip. We generally manage a week ay WDW and a 7 night cruise without doing it so I amthinking htis shouldn't be impossible. Right?:rolleyes1

Here is a little tip most of you know but it may help some of the new folks out. The room safe is locked/unlocked with a magnetic strip. Many people use their Key To The World cards for this. Then only one KTTW card will open it. So, say we use DHs card and then I order room service and he is ???, then I can't get to the cash for tipping (and many other reasons why one person may want in there). We always leave most of the contenets of out walllets at home, but we alwasy bring one "worhtless" item with a magnetic strip on it (when we lived in the "big city" our library cards had them and we would bring one). We use IT for the safe and stash in an agreed upon location in the room that we both can find whenever we need/want it.

One week from NOW we will be eating a hotel breakfast as we get ready to drive down to the Magic:banana:

Thinking I just found a use for our room key from the Hyatt!!

okay...for anyone else still needing airfare...please do not book the delta bcn to atlanta flight...it keeps filling up and i need to get back to the states flying standby!!! :lmao: :rotfl2: just take the delta flight to JFK instead!!!! :cool1: :wizard:

just got off the phone with the passport people...my hubby's passport is finished but they do not know if it has been mailed out yet.... :sad2:  but we should get it on monday or tuesday!

Geez, so you still don't know if he is going or not!!!

The only chance of having adult PJ parties is if they totally blow it when it comes to selling limited edition merchandise again.:dance3: First Panama repo there were lines of people sleeping to wait in line to buy stuff. On the East Bound repo cruise (which I was on) they did an order form, which you filled out and turned it in. It was much easier. If you want details on how that works, PM me and I will give you the details.

Ok, I have to admit I was stressing out about the packing. I actually was sick this morning thinking about it. But I got out my list and sorted the clothes and put them in the suitcases, and VOILA, 6 hours later I am all packed. The only items I still haven't put in are the hair brushes, curling iron and hair dryer. I guess doing all the prep work with the shampoo and stuff and baggin it all up before hand really did work. Even the camera bag is done!!:lmao:

Finish updating my Ipod and I will be good to go!!

My DH is loading the Ipod as I type this with movies and power rangers for the 5yo. We have 12 hrs of battery and then we'll have to plug it in. Hopefully the battery pack will really last 12 hrs!

I am finished packing! Just a few odds and ends to throw in. Only thing left is to pack the bag of electronics/cameras and the paperwork and we are all set!

Looking at the weather... Orlando is going to be very toasty this week:rolleyes1 The ports of call are looking mild :)

Only 5 more sleeps!!!

Debbie

And the best news of my day:

Off Kilter
High-energy progressive Celtic music.
Sunday-Thursday at 2:30, 3:30, 5:30, 6:30 & 7:30pm
Length of show: 30 minutes

This weeks schedule is out!!! They will be playing on Thursday and I will definately make the first show!

So who ever will be at WDW on Thursday, May 10, stop by the Canadian Pavilion and visit. I will be wearing a pink shirt, black shorts and an OKW cap :) (Actually it is the same shirt I am wearing in my pic on the roster:lmao: )

OMG <insert scream noises here!!!!>:cool1:

I haven't been on the boards or read so I have no idea what is going on and I will do so late tonight - I miss you all. Two things, I cannot find the detergent at ANY Bed, Bath & Beyond, so I apologize for all those people waiting for me to get it. Secondly, we are FINALLY packing and my husband just tried on his 70's outfit - and I don't know whether to scream, laugh or cry. It is funny! Is anybody else dressing up for those wild nights? Anyway, I will warn you all ahead of time. He is the one in the green Mr. Furley outfit from Three's Company. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
