I'm a big dork, my husband and I must have been so excited that we never noticed the green balloons, shirts, Mickey heads.... Nothing!
You think you were excited - you should have seen us. We were out there while it was still dark waiting for you!

Looking at Debbie's pictures, we do look sort of insignificant though. Here is the link from our perspective:
http://home.earthlink.net/%7Ecpsnyder/Magic_Cruise.htm

There were a few more people when we left later that day. Take a look at the last picture from the second link - all the DIS green shirts - anyone from this group in that picture?

I think the green shirts at your departure were members of the July 9th cruise. My neighbor (hi Cheri! :wave2: ) was a part of that group and they had a large contigent to see the Magic off on her maiden west coast voyage!

thanks, Susie. Tears in my eyes after looking at the pictures. Must go get DH right now and show him! I can't believe we were on that cruise and didn't know everyone! What a loss, but an exciting beginning to new friends on the next cruise. That really brought back some memories.

I hear you CACruisin... I start getting those Mouse pains every few weeks. In my profession we call that withdrawal! Just think about your upcoming trip to Yosemite (is that right?)

On that cruise, we accidentally left our Mickey waving hands behind somehow. Don't know how since we checked our room 15 times in the morning! I called and they couldn't send me any replacement :sad2:

Happy Mother's Day everyone. Just got back from CA ADVenture where they had their first food festival. It was nice food, but got terribly sunburned due to waiting in line, then being sat in the sun (unexpectedly - told we'd be indoors) - ouch. They gave out carnations to every mother walking in the park - nice touch. :hippie:

Thanks for all the pixie dust and puppy prayers. Bear's doing really well. I stayed home with him on Friday to watch him. Wish I could stay home today too but ... oh well...

My vacation was great. Can't say enough good things about Expedition Everest. Here's my trip report if anyone is interested.

I loved the Gulf Coast. The Don CeSar Hotel was amazing. When it was time to check-out of the hotel, they had to drag me out of my room kicking and screaming (figuratively not literally). At the first toll booth back to the airport, the guy said to me "you've got to smile sometime today". That line is going to stay with me for a long time.

This trip really got me thinking about packing for the cruise next year. I've got to figure a way to cut down on what I pack. I filled a fairly big suitcase for just this short trip. Oh well, we've got a year to figure this out.

HAPPY MONDAY EVERYONE!

we got our gibraltar book too....the picture on the front cover is amazing but we really haven't had time to do much reading into it....my DM and DF (does that make them my DPs?? And if so then what about my REAL DP, Jason?? Oh it's all so confusing!!! hehehe :rotfl2: :sunny: )....anyhow DM and DF come in just under 2 weeks to visit the new house and as yet we have no living room or spare bedroom or dining room!!! AAAAAHHHHH

So there's no time for gibraltar travel books or disboard posts so much now :) ......although we did commemorate our one year countdown date (a little earlier than all of you cuz we're going to the world on May 7th before teh cruise itself)! :)

talk soon!

Here's a Barcelona excursion link:
http://www.shoretrips.com/common/search3.asp?rcode=EUR&lcode=BCN

This came from shoretrips.com and, gee, anyone else think that's a little much for transport from ship to airport with a 2-hour tour?
:confused3

Oh my heavens yes....lots of those excursions look way pricier than we're going to pay! Luckily for me we live in a "college town" and I am sure I can rustle up some information from folks who've been to Barcelona....and possibly get tips on how to design our own excursion....either that or let's hope that Disney is able to come up with some more reasonable fun things to do ashore!

There is a tourist bus which is a hop on hop off bus which goes all around the city. There is a stop in the Plaza Colon (Columbus Square) which is near the start of the docks. This is a great way to see the city and the ticket is for one or two days.
Try this site for further info about the city.

Hey Erik, I was thinking about you this weekend, the travel channel ran the Disney Animal Kingdom show several times. I didn't catch it til it was on west coast time, so I never saw in time to email you to let you know. Although you've probably seen it already - they've run it a hundred times. I know the extreme home makeover and family coming... UGH. We're doing our own makeover too!

heheh....yeah i've seen most the disney specials on every channel.....i keep my eyes and ears open on the food network, travel channel...there was even one on the history channel once...about anything related to disney!! i can't wait for the new nemo show to open in the old tarzan space....it'll be there by the time we get there next year....WOO HOO!!! Animal Kingdom always has the very best of the live performance shows at the world (Festival of the Lion King and Tarzan are both two of my all time faves)....so I have very high hopes that the Nemo show will be phenomenal! :sunny:

Nemo Show... are you kidding me? We are so out of touch with WDW! We were pretty excited to see the Tarzan show, but we (mostly DD) are Nemo nuts :fish: Out here they are converting the old submarine ride into Nemo. It is a big exciting conversion going on.

The other big deal here is the Pirates conversion and big opening in June. Are they doing that in WDW too?

oh yes oh yes.....tarzan is over and gone (which is too bad cuz it was a great show :sad2: ) and being replaced later this year by a nemo themed live show that is supposed to be amazing.....there are details about it on www.allearsnet.com (which, if there is anyone on here who doesn't read that site....start now! heheh :thumbsup2 )

they're making a nemo ride out of the old 20,000 leagues? aw...now we need to def. book a disneyland trip! as big a disney fan as i am, i've never been....i've been to the florida parks and to disney tokyo but none of the other parks....i was really hoping that they'd make 20,000 in the magic kingdom in orlando into another waterthemed ride...like atlantis or nemo....but instead they filled it in like a landfill and made a pooh playground......which you'd think jason and i'd love considering our obsession with tigger and roo......but there's a height restriction to go into the play area and we both exceed it! hehehe :rotfl2: ....although I did take a picture of jason at the entrance to teh playground with the sign featuring Roo :) (although i can't figure out how to post it here *lol*)

I beleive the new nemo ride here at Disneyland is going to be similar to what they have planned for the Living Seas at Epcot. At least the concept art looks very similar (almost identical).

It's pretty exciting... The surrounding wall around the lagoon has some big beautiful murals of all the characters announcing the new "Nemo submarine ride coming in summer of 2007." I saw video on another thread of the submarines coming out for test runs of some kind, so it looks like it may be pretty fun. They have stopped running the monorail above the ride so you can't see anything from any direction. I can't wait! Now I'm really excited about all the new stuff at WDW.

Got an inside scoop that only about 300 staterooms had been sold for the Med Repo cruises out of the 875 that are usually filled. :confused3 :confused3

Well hopefully they can do something to push sales. I'm sure that cost, length of the trip, and how long the wait until the trip is are not helping....plus the cost of additional expenses (we've started pricing our airfare to get back from Barcelona....and the plane trip one way from there to home for us is going to cost about what we spent on our land/sea package in February!!!).

I wonder if that means we could get TWO dinners at Palo...
