Happy Weekend all!

It has been a tiring week here. But went to a pin meet today and did some pin trading with some friends from Chicago and Florida.

I sure hope that DCL learned about distributing pins and will not make the same mistake they did the last time. Can't wait to see what they do for this one!

One person said today ... "so how many days across the Atlantic?.... 6 days... and WHAT are you going to do??" :rotfl2: I told him that we did not have time to do everything on the Repo cruise and needed another week!

Three weeks from today I will be at WDW!!! :Pinkbounc

Oh the infamous sleeping in the atrium night.

DCL, in their infinite wisdom, decided that they would have a pin for each port, including the canal, but would only sell them on the day we were in that port. And also would have a beautiful jumbo pin commemorating the canal crossing.

Well, it became pretty ugly. It turned into long lines to get a voucher, people missing activities to stand in line, and then ultimately they decided to sell the rest all at once so the lines would end.

As soon as that was decided, one person stood in line the night before, and it was all over from there! We had a slumber party aboard the Magic! I was a bit back in the line and spent the night sleeping in the atrium. The line started by the Forward elevators and snaked its way all the way to hallway outside of Lumiere's and as the morning got closer, all the way back to Parrot Cay.

For the August Repo, they got smart. You had an order form in your room and could order what you wanted, and no standing in line!!

Debbie

that night is etched in my mind FOREVER................... :rotfl2:

It was the only time I saw more than a few people up when I was out for the 0530 run. I was pretty surprised to the masses. I offered to go get coffe, juice, pastrys, etc, but DCL has already made arrangements.

Wonder what they will have for this crossing?

Only 5 days + 54 more weeks go!

Happy Monday everyone!

Debbie, Thanks for the pics of the pin sleepover, I'm stunned by what a disaster that was. The order sheets in the room seems like the obvious choice. Wow! I wonder if they discount for not using a bed on the cruise?

I've been thinking the same thing about a biweekly topic...

In fact, I'm officially putting out my list of goals to accomplish in our remaining 55 weeks. Anyone else have any goals before the trip? Anyone else have goals they want the rest of us to help push them to accomplish?

Goals before trip:

1: Increase our business income to pay for DVC & cruise! Benefit: increase stays each year! :smickey:
2: Finish my Doctorate - or be within 4 classes by the start of the cruise - must bring one book/class with me on cruise. Benefit: obvious! :tink:
3: Choose my dissertation. Benefit: peace of mind, excitement of beginning research. pooh:
4: Finish all sewing projects in the house! Benefit: clean the sewing area & have complete rooms! pluto:
5: Sell all books and junk on Ebay: Benefit: downsize the junk in our house! :tigger:

I was also assisted in my pin angst by lovely DIS-cruisers in our group, who offered their duplicates when I managed to miss out on just about every pin that was offered...In the end I missed only the Port Canaveral and Castaway Cay pins...sigh, I wonder where I was?

Ohhh Milestogo.... can I tell you stories about Peter ;) :thumbsup2 :lmao:

Peter, you really did not have a choice to help out the 2 ladies.... didn't you :smooth: :stir: :rotfl:

Debbie

It sounds like a lot of fun stories to be told and adventures were had... I wonder what fun stories we'll all be telling next year to the group waiting for the next specialty cruise (hoping its to the West Coast again - Hawaii!)

Pin limitations - Wow so everyone on the cruise didn't get the pins huh?

After the cruise we looked on ebay to see if anyone was selling their Mexico cruise pins... that was when we discovered that there were pins for every port on the repo.

 No, everyone did not get pins. That was part of the problem. The edition size was only 500! And the Jumbo pin was 1,000!

Ummm there were a few more people than 500 aboard! :confused3 They also fixed that for the return Repo, made the edition size bigger.

You have some great goals! Losing the weight from the last repo cruise is on the top of my list :lmao: We are also planning a garage sale to get rid of alot of crap around here. And as my TA (and good friend) says...one mans crap is anothers shore excursion! :rotfl:

Hey all....very very new to the disboards, etc. (just registered today for the sole purpose of finding other cruisers on the transatlantic adventure next May and stumbled upon all of you).

We are Erik and Jason, 31 and 25, and are Disney fanatics, avid Disney vacationers, DVC members (200 points @ SSR), and Castaway Clubbers (2 previous Land/Sea packages aboard the Wonder...most recently in 2/06).

We just confirmed our deposit for next May's Magic-al Mediterranean Adventure....and now the waiting and planning and excitement can begin...so we thought we'd shout a quick a hello into the group. We're in a Cat. 7 on Deck 7.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone online between now and then having an amazing cruise!

Erik (& Jason)

:welcome: aboard, Erik & Jason! There are quite a few of us on Deck 7 aft. Debbie (EpcotKilterFan) has a list going. You can click on the link in her signature.

OK, so I am going to need a PINS 101 class. We never were even aware of the whole pin thing. On our Mexico cruise last June I bought a Fathers Day pin because it was 101 dalmations (my fav!) and, well, it was Fathers Day! :rotfl: Didn't even see a Mexico pin :sad2: Since then, I have became more "aware" (but I still don't think I understand the basics even!) and I bought a 50th Anniversary pin at DL last month. Again, I liked it and it had Tinkerbell - she is so awesome in the fireworks show! So, make that a goal for me " Get educated on the whole pin thing."

Second Goal, lose the weight and DON'T put it all back on during our two week cruise! :rotfl2:

DH just got home so I better go! He came home a day early from his business trip so he could be here for DD's 12 birthday tomorrow. Kids don't know he is home. DD's will be so excited in the morning! :cheer2:

Welcome Aboard Erik and Jason, yes there are a bunch of us on Deck 7 aft. Jump on in nad enjoy.

It starts with just one pin then another next thing you know you are sleeping on the floor just to get a pin. :lmao: :lmao: I am a lucky one who has not fallen into the pit of pins. :lmao: :lmao:

But I have helped others get a pin or two.

PINS... is that a four letter word? :rotfl2:

On the PC repro we were way back in the Parrot Cay restaurant... at 6:00 AM (we didn't know about the sleepover) I remember asking a CM to assist in forming a line there to avoid one large mob :furious: scene. I was going to begin doing this, but my DH thought it would be better to get some assistance. ;) Just before we got to the voucher area, this huge man stepped right in front of me. GREAT! How was I going to handle this??? without yelling??? without problems??? All eyes behind me were watching... a LONG story... eventually, a DCL CM had to ask him to remove himself from the line :Pinkbounc

We never considered ourselves collectors, but, when you take a trip like the PC trip... well, we really wanted the pins! :rotfl2: We were too far back to get the complete set, but due to some great DIS friends and pixie dust, we ended up with every one. :lovestruc

Now we have 4 notebooks full! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

IDEA! SELL PINS AND BUY MORE DVC POINTS!
