Kelly you can go to geocaching.com and get the info. Basically it is like a treasure hunt where you enter coordinates into your GPS and then find the location, which might be anythiong from a log to a box where you can exchange goodies.

There are three geocaches on Castaway Cay.

Greetings all! It was a busy weekend here, too....but also a really nice one for us and we thought of all of you guys a lot! We spent the weekend expanding our magnetic walls so that rather than just one wall in the landing of the basement stairs, it's ever wall in the entire basement starewell AND the back of the basement door....because we wanted to start hanging up pictures from our recent Disney Trips and needed more room. WE also finally got around to mounting our signed Ducky litho (which I'm really proud of because we actually mounted it ourself in a frame...and we matted it in a large frame WITH the limited edition collector's repo coin we got, small versions of the stock photos that Shutters sold for each of the ports on the cruise and small versions of 3 trip photos..including the one with Ducky at the signing and two of the portraits from shutters we had done with white backgrounds). It looks great and it's hanging in our basement now...which is where all my tiggers, Jason's roos, and all our other Disney stuff is kept. Also we FINALLY got around to completing our fantastic scrapbook we made with so many of you under the tutelage of Linda (seaulater)!! It was so amazing for us to relive the trip as we selected pictures and cut them out and looked through all of our memorabilia for things to put in the scrapbook! :goodvibes :goodvibes

Eric, did you say you saw him in December? I saw him in September, just after Labor Day. I think he was going to be there for a week, maybe two, so it would've been between Sept 1st, when he got off, and September 14th, at the latest. When were you there? Did I miss you? We were there til the 4th.

:rolleyes1 Anybody have a job for a really nice Maketing/Six Sigma Black Belt/Quality guy who is excellent at training? I hate being poor. It's no fun at all. :sad2:

No it was him then...we were there Sept 5th through the 9th (with Hadley and her bunch!! ) so we JUST missed you.

Deanna:grouphug: Let's find a job for your six sigma black belt quality guy and my six sigma black belt manufacturing/managment guy and all be happy. At least Dave still gets to draw a paycheck while he finishes up some special projects until the end of the year--but this uncertaintity is awful. I don't know how you have stood it for so long:hug: Oh, and I think Erik meant Septemebr. We were there with him and Jason, but it was after you left (we would have mobbed you if we'd seen you!).

Runners: Wow, I really am exhausted just reading about all of your exploits. I am so not in that kinds of shape:rolleyes1 Great job to everyone who seems to be doing such awesome things:woohoo:

Kelly: I like the foutain pic. you posted. Does Jonathan want to come "play" and build a foutnain at our house next year? I don't know where we will be yet, but I am sure we would like a lovely foutnain:)

I JUST learned what the heck Six Sigma Black Belt is! Well sorta.... There are positions at Red Cross National Headquarters for Black Belts. I saw that and honestly said... "What the heck is that!"

So I googled it and figured it out :) But I have baffled others as to why we are hiring black belts :rotfl2:

Lynn, I ended up getting the Polar heart rate monitor. I looked at the 305, but couldn't justify the extra $150 - and didn't know if I could ever figure out how to work it, hopefully I don't regret it.

I do not have a heart monitor, I just have the 205, I could not justify the extra money for the heart monitor, I just wanted to know how far and how fast I was going!
Lynn:eeyore:

At REI the 205 was the same cost as the Polar, but since I needed the heart rate monitor (watching my blood pressure and looking for my target heart rate) I went with the Polar, even the the 205 and 305 were the "highly recommended" brand.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I was thinking and doing the same thing!

Just wanted to say to Hello to all and been thinking of you all lately! We got a little dusting of snow two nights ago here in the Valley so the tops of the mountains look really cool! Especially with all the foliage changes going on here! Hubbie just got upgraded to fly the 70 and 90 seat airplanes so you have been warned! He is now loose on the 50, 70 and 90 seater RJ's.... Getting to start decorating for Halloween around here. Hoping to get the pumpkins and corn stalks this week from the farmer.... Have a Great Day Y'all! :hippie:

I only have a vague idea of Six Sigma myself, but do know it is an efficiency process.

We are officially poor--my kids get free lunch! :cool1: I actually think this is really funny. (Would be funnier if the future weren't so fuzzy...) All you have to do is say you have no income-true- and ta da!!!

From spoiled Disney cruisers to free lunchers in a matter of weeks. (And please remember, we paid for the cruise a week before the lay off, within the no refund time period.)

I'm going to substitute teach, so I can be home with the kids after school, and Scott is trying to fill in with consulting, but that is tenuous as companies are contracting with him, but they aren't booking. Everyone seems to be laying off everywhere. It's getting kinda scarey. I mean there seems to be a huge national financial mess on the horizen.

Motorola laid off 4,000 in the first round, and starting today, 5,600 are being laid off in "Mobile Devices" alone, and there are more corporate-wide. That's a lot of families. The first round, of which Scott was at the end, got packages. There are rumors the rounds to come are just being shown the door with no help.

Karen, my Dad used to be a pilot, and is now an airline exec--I can SO relate to the excitement of those upgrades!!! Congratulate him from us, please. That really is very terrific! I hope you celebrated!!!!

I can just imagine the mountains. :hippie: I went to school in Utah and this time of year was my favorite...so beautiful...and skiing is just around the corner!:cloud9:

:grouphug: Hang in there. We are thinking of you and Scott and the kids. I know it's hard. I also firmly believe these things happen for a reason. When Dave was laid off post 9/11 (and yes 5 days later we were at WDW on a just paid for trip we were past the cancellation period for so I know how that goes as well) the job he ended up getting was the best fit for him he has ever had. After several months of no income and stress (jobs in Detroit post 9/11 were pretty much non existant) it paid off with the least stressful job he has ever had (becuase he was working for people he repsected. I bet in the long ruin this will turn out to be hte best for Scott as well.
In the meantime, you are an awesome family so I know you'll ride this wave well. And, the kids who have you as a sub are lucky to have such a great one.

Thanks, Hadley! You are a sweetie! I think that it will work out for the best. We've already been very blessed. Experience itself is a blessing. I hope Scott will be as fortunate as your husband in finding a pleasant work environment. The last place was 24/7 stress.

Wow, can you imagine the lucky kids who will have DizzneyDAnn as their :teacher:

Robert and I will be praying for you guys and your family, both Hadley and Deanna, ok?!

I agree with Hadley, things always work out the way the universe intends it to. In the meantime, know that you will be in our thoughts! Neither of you have left them since May, just in case you didn't realize that.
Chris:cool1:

Well when the U.S. CEO's old college buddy moved in 18 months ago the stress started. And as of the day before our last trip said college buddy has made Dave his fall guy and Dave no longer has his position. The initial shock of this was soooo not good. Lucky for us The 3 1/2 years Dave spent at the company is so respected that other management stepped in and Dave still has a job of sorts. He gets unitl the end of the year to still draw a paycheck while looking for a different position within the company. We are hoping to parlay this into our chance to work/live in Germany. But we could end up stuck in a tiny town in Iowa or who knows what:confused3 So, we are in a MUCH less stressful situation than you are, but it is still unsettling to say the least. I am choosing to believe that by Christmas both your family and mine will be better off than we have been in quite a while:goodvibes

:grouphug: Aww Chris, you're gonna make me cry. We miss you too (always).

We are so sorry to hear and will keep you all in our prayers. Hopefully this will help, don't forget when one door closes another one opens! You guys are Great and it will work out! :cheer2:

I take back all my poop talk, Chris, you made me smile! And believe me, the WB was NOT the same without you. You were like ghosts on the ship to me. Everywhere I went, I remembered seeing you there, too. BUT you weren't there anymore and that was sad.:sad1: Lucky i have wonderful memories!

Hadley, we have no job, but we did receive pay in a lump sum and benefits til the end of the year. thankfully. The school district was still willing to pay for the lunches, though, also thankfully.:) Every little bit helps. I'm trying to make it last as long as possible before the 401K is breached and disappears.:scared1:

Hadley, Odd that you mentioned Iowa...we have a job interview there...I am so hoping it works out. We could use our equity to buy a smaller house (Iowa is less spendy) and NEVER have to experience this fear of losing the house again.

On a fun note:rotfl: --I think I'm going to have the 5th grade class, Anneliese's, make volcanos and flubber for their fall party. I am in charge of the "craft or game." I just don't want to subjugate the boys to gluing googly eyeballs to felt or sprinkle glitter on pine cones. :snooty: They are in 5th grade--done it! I'm sure the teacher will just "love" me!:scared: I'm going to experiment with my girl scout troop for efficiency.:wizard:

Ahhh, Karen, I need a cheerleader! I wonder if I'd make a good linebacker???hmmmmm. Holding the line....
