. . . I had a book with me of course!

A person after my own heart! Some places in Orlando even recognize me as the lady who comes in with the book! :coffee:
I'll be the one coming on board with the suitcase full of books.

Just heard about another travel essential:

"AAA Visa® TravelMoney Card (instead of travelers cheques or your regular debit card)
Use at merchants that accept debit cards and withdraw your travel funds when and where you need them. (available online or in branch)"

Looks like the Louis Vuitton Semi Finals will be wrapping up as we sail by Valencia, that would be way KEWL!!!!

Big AC fan here but I think we pass Valencia after dark. At the party yesterday I was day dreaming out loud to the wife if she would like to leave the ship in Gibraltar and drive to Barcelona via Valencia....

She was so so with the idea but maybe there is another AC Fanatic or group that wants to share the trip with me...

It is about 750 miles to drive 11 - 12 hours.

Leave Gibraltar Wed afternoon drive to Valencia. Stay in Valencia Thursday and if we get lucky catch a Cup race then drive toward Barcelona and stay somewhere on the coast before meeting the Magic in Barcelona on Friday in the late morning.

Basically trade a sea day for a whirlwind driving tour or the east coast of Spain and a chance at seeing an America's (Louis Vuitton) Cup Race.

Thursday the 24th is the last day of the Louis Vuitton semi finals.

From my understanding, there will only be 6pm dining and 8pm. which means all early dining will have the same rotation.
If this has changed, let me know....

We were late, but was able to change it to early.
There used to be only two dining times, but they still had three different rotations. I'd be really surprised if that wasn't the case for this trip. Even though the cruise may be underbooked, I still don't think that we will all fit in one dining room.

:cool1: HAVE YOU HEARD OF THE TABLETS... they take up a lot less room.. you must look for them.. instead of the bottle.. each tablet does 1 load of laundry and bring softener sheets.:cool2:

I have tried to find these (used them on our first cruise, and couldn't find them for our second) and cannot anywhere....even online. If you know where these are sold please tell me, or I will pay you to buy some extra for me? Pretty please? They do not exist anymore as far as I can find! :confused3

We have early seating, too!
I'm sure they are still doing graduations. They did it in October of 2006.
Maybe if we spoke to the head server, we could do it at dinner. You know sometimes they have little shows during dinner. We could see if they could get all the kindergarteners to walk down the main aisle with their graduation caps with everyone clapping.

That would be great! I am so excited about this. I was so sad that she was going to miss out on this with her school. It is nice to know that she will have other girls to share in something special on board.

I will let you know if I find anything neat at DL next weekend. All of their graduation stuff should be out already.

Hey if Capt Mickey gave her a diploma that would be much better then any ceremony at school. It is a long shot but maybe, just maybe!

The guy I spoke to at DCL was great. He added great notes to our reservation explaining about her missing her graduation, etc.

Gee, thanks....

On a different note, we just finished with DD3 (now 4!!!) birthday party. Of course it was a princess party. I'll post a pic, a little later...

I have a week to recouperate before DD5 (soon 6!) birthday party this Saturday!

I feel for you with birthdays close to each other, my daughters are born on the same day 4 years apart! At least this cruise is getting me out of big parties this year. There birthdays are June 13th so we will do something small when we get back. Nothing could top what we are doing with this cruise at this point!

How about everybody that was at the banner party telling us which one you are in the pixs?

I think this is a great idea!!! Even on the webcam, I was thinking, I wonder who that is, or who that is.....

We fly down on Friday...so 5 days for us, too!!

It's starting to feel more real....more stuff is packed, banners are being made...i coached my last shift at the gym today and said bye to all my girls! :rotfl:
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

:tigger:
Erik

You know, I have been getting more and more jealous of 2 groups of people. At first it didn't bother me because I was just happy to be on this cruise....
But I have been getting so jealous of:
1. The people who are getting to go so early to WDW
2. The people who are going on the B2B.

So I think you are soooo lucky. (pout)

It has his schedule where he is going to be. Check it out!

:guilty: I went and checked....I am still heartbroken. I was really expecting him to be on this special innagural cruise, to say the least :(.
Someone has said Boyz to Men and Joey Fatone would be on it, but Joey is right in the middle of Dancing with the Stars...I cannot see him being able to get away right now? Has anyone else heard this?

Where are you hearing this? I'm still wishing on Johnny and Orlando!

We spent the past 9 hours hosting two European couples we are friends with for tapas and wine. We have a good map of Barcelona and with their help (being that I have only been there once when i was 16:scared1: ) now have our three days really well planned out (including one "must eat at" tapas place and excatly what to order for the 6 of us:rotfl: )

Birthdays--Jennifer I feel for you also. Marika and Rio's birthdays are only 4 days apart and Christmas is between them! There are also three of us in the family on December 8 (me and Dave's siblings who are twins) and two on the 18 (Dave's mom and her twin). For us December is one giant party (and we always kick it all off with a special Walt memory dinner on the 5th).party:

In case I missed anyone--welcome to all newbies and thanks to any and all of you who have ever put your life on the line for our country.:)

Dining--Even if dining is all at the same time, there will still be different rotations. The staggered times do two things: they help people who cannot read there KTTW cards figure out where they are dining (ask just about any CM and if you know your time they can tell you which room to go to) and they helped keep the orders streaming into the kitchen rather than all hitting the chefs at once.

Love the Banner!! Amazing job gang, only wish I was there to help out!!

Why don't we have our own Kindergarten graduation for our 2 little girls. Any other Kindergarten graduates out there?

This sounds like great idea, the youngest actually graduates in June form Kindergarden but after a week with the other kids he will feel right at home and shoudl want to participate also.

Oh Scott--a crossing the Prime Meridain party is a great idea! Always up for a party.

Scott, Always up for a good Party!!

My two boys (being Rio and Dave) have spent the morning builiding a replica of the Magic our of K'nex. My kitchen table will not be used for anything but a display stand (this is about 5-6 feet long) until they take it apart (post cruise being my guess!). But, it looks pretty cool. Rio is working on getting wake like waves comming out from the sides as I type. At least I am not the only one who can think of nothing but the cruise right about now!

Now you have to get a picture or two of this and post it!! That would be cool to see.

So are you going to share where to eat or are you going to keep that little secret to yourself? Do share and what to order!!

If not now I will jsut have to track you down on board and bug you until you tell me :)

So, I go away for a weekend to visit with the in laws and I have almsot 20 pages to catch up to. Dam, I wish some of you people woudl hurry up and leave on vacation so I don't have to read so much at night to just keep up :rotfl2:

Welcome to the new people!!!

Ken, your efforts are greatly appreciated by all, and I will be glad to buy you a drink or 2 as a thank you for all your hard work!!

Down to 12 days here, the DW was busy tonight putting the finishing touches on a couple of sewing projects. I was out picking up the drug store that we are taking with us, one more thing done. Running out of days but we are almost done now.

Well almost time for bed, Later all and try and keep it to 5 pages tonight :P

Cheers!!

Pat

:rotfl2: Okay, where to eat in Barcelona. You may want to look me up on board and check the map. I am hoping we can find this place (I think we can). In the Olympic port area along Playa Barcelonetta is a yellow restruraunt named "Tapas Bar" (very origianl, eh?). Unlike many places more in town this one is open all day and you can get lunch or an early dinner. We were told to order: Sangria de Cava (champagne sangria), Sangria de Cerveza (beer sangria) and Sangria de Vino (regular old wine sangria) and the two different "discover tapas" platters. This should (so we are told) easily feed 4 adults and two kids and should be more than enough alcohol for our group plus about as many again:rotfl2:

Does Captain Hook play a role in the pirate night? My daughters are huge Peter Pan fans.

I think this is a great idea!!! Even on the webcam, I was thinking, I wonder who that is, or who that is.....

I was thinking everyone should hold up a sign with a name on it toward the camera.

Also wish we had taken a group shot but quite a few had to leave before we finished the last of the sign and never got around to it.

Thanks, everyone for making it a success.

Good food, good friends ..... good times. Sort of like cruising without the rocking motion...

Someone asked to see a photo (Pat?). So here it is! This is the stripped down version after waves and Mickey icons were removed so the kids would have pieces to build a shuffle board game with:rotfl: Nah, we don't have cruise on the brain:rotfl2:
