PS 5 days to go for me!!!:cool1:

Good Morning All.
Hope everyone had a great weekend.
Clock's a ticking. Cruise will be here before we know it.
Woo Hoo. :cool1:

Oh good, I feel better now. My DD would have been crushed if she missed it. I will make it a priority to sign up when we are on ship. Do you know the ages that they usually take for that?

Sign up for it the first day. Don't wait...

Bob, your up early on a school day..

Passporter is very good, you can also go online at www.passporter.com , and they do take phone orders.

Jennifer and Dave are good folks and their guide books are very very good.

Delux edition gets you a nice cover that can be used for years to come, for us type A folks it is a great organizer.

Oh I did not know about that! I am thinking I should go buy a book or something to get more info on Disney cruises. Any suggestions for a good book???

Both my daughters are HUGE Wendy fans!!!

DSCF1292.jpg

Brooklyn with Wendy at Disneyland.

Does anyone know if there are still tickets available for Tea with Wendy? I can't do anything till tomorrow when Disney finalizes our flight plans and we pay for our trip.

Tickets don't even become available until after you board. You pick htem up at guest services. So, no worries.

The BEST book is Passporter's Guide to the DIsney Cruise Line and Ports of Call. The new edition (5th) even had every one of the repo ports covered. I feel it is very much worth your $18.

RE: Laundry Tablets -I called Tide a couple of years back, as we were getting ready for the PC cruise. Was informed that they don't make them anymore. Someone said Amway was making them at that time. It is a product that I think there would be a market for??

Thank you for the information! How could "Tea with Wendy" not sell out??? Wendy is an idol in this house, he he.

Any other neat things that anyone knows of that is a must do that I will need to sign up for???

No age limit that I know of. The kids first went when they were 2 and 4. It is a family thing (not a drop off program) and is very sweet but not elaborate. They hold it in studio sea and Wendy comes in and hosts tea and teaches the kids how to hold their tea cup with pinky extended and daintily nibble their chocolate chip cookies. Afterward they can get a photo with Wendy. We always enjoy it.

The banner looks fabulous! And what a great get together!!! It makes it all just a little more real, which is a fun thing to think about!

MANY pages to read as I have been away for two days: trying to get stuff done, and one of my students (law school) had a personal crisis, so was trying to help him, which while an entirely necessary thing to do, impeded my ability to keep up!

:welcome: Brooklyn and family, and another thanks for your husband's service.

Laura, I too was worried that you were off drowning your sorrows in the beverage of your choice! Sounds like it certainly could have been worse. And yes, you don't need two names, you are famous! (infamous?!). :)

And speaking of laundry, has anyone ever seen portable (i.e., tablets) that are sensitivity-type detergent? The best I found was a relatively petite box, all things considered, of Ivory baby detergent. I hope that's OK for my dh, he is allergic to anything that's not a "free" type product. I wonder if I should try do a patch test, but I don't want to open the box as it is nice and leakproof now. He says he has used Ivory soap before w/o issue, so I assume it is ok, but it wouldn't be good to have a bad allergic reaction during the cruise. We have a Miele frontloading washer, so use HE detergent (Persil free), which is not suitable to bring with for a regular machine. Does anyone else have this problem?

And I am not quite sure what to call a group of Cynthias (Brooklyn, despite the fact that this is not a common name, there's a whole bunch of us on this cruise) except not very quiet! ;)

Summer weather here in Chicago all of the sudden, and right now, thunder and lightening. I think it's telling me I am up way too late...

 C.

Cynthia--have you done his laundry in a public machine before? My aunt is so sensitive that when she did that on vacation she still broke out. It appeared to be from the residue of other people's detergent still in the machine. Now she always lugs along enough to avoid doing laundry when traveling (and does a bit by hand in the sink) .Something to think about.

When we cruised last year on the Magic it was not tea with Wendy like we had been told. They had changed it to tea with Alice. So be careful preparing the little ones for Wendy just in case, we don't want a lot of sad kids!

Love the Banner!! Amazing job gang, only wish I was there to help out!!

This sounds like great idea, the youngest actually graduates in June form Kindergarden but after a week with the other kids he will feel right at home and shoudl want to participate also.

Scott, Always up for a good Party!!

Now you have to get a picture or two of this and post it!! That would be cool to see.

So are you going to share where to eat or are you going to keep that little secret to yourself? Do share and what to order!!

If not now I will jsut have to track you down on board and bug you until you tell me :)

So, I go away for a weekend to visit with the in laws and I have almsot 20 pages to catch up to. Dam, I wish some of you people woudl hurry up and leave on vacation so I don't have to read so much at night to just keep up :rotfl2:

Welcome to the new people!!!

Ken, your efforts are greatly appreciated by all, and I will be glad to buy you a drink or 2 as a thank you for all your hard work!!

Down to 12 days here, the DW was busy tonight putting the finishing touches on a couple of sewing projects. I was out picking up the drug store that we are taking with us, one more thing done. Running out of days but we are almost done now.

Well almost time for bed, Later all and try and keep it to 5 pages tonight :P

Cheers!!

Pat

We'll add Jason to the list...a little graduating Prince Charming to join the Kindergarten princesses.

She makes #3!!! Jennifer, maybe you guys can join us at early seating for this occasion. Any others?

Brooklyn
Sophia

Maybe we could arrange for a special guest (Captain Mickey?) to hand out diplomas...Boy I wish I were still in concierge. I wonder if they're still doing the Disney U graduation thing for the finale of the kids program. If so we have our caps! Has anyone been on the Magic lately to report? Diplomas? Any thoughts?

The banner looks great!!

Really? Now I would enjoy that as a change as we have had tea with Wendy 3 times now (most recently in September).

I searched EVERYWHERE for tablets and couldn't find any!!! Just when I had resolved myself to the fact that I wsa going to have to buy detergent out of hte machines aboard I found (I think in Target or Walgreen's) a small bottle of liquid All that is supposedly super concentrated. It's as small or smaller than a travel size shampoo and it claims that 1/2 a bottle will clean a full load of laundry so I just bought two of those....very little space, it's sealed so it won't leak....and if that works then we'll be set. We anticipate doing laundry twice during this trip since we're staying at AKL for over a week before cruising...we think we'll do laundry at AKL the day before we leave and then on the ship about 1/2 way through....OR we may bring our dirty clothes onto the ship and just do laundry aboard the ship the first or second night and then again half way through....(Or we may bring our dirty clothes to the Wine and Cheese party at Scott's in OKW and just do our laundry there...he and Lynn don't know that yet, though, so SHHH don't tell!:rotfl: )

:tigger:
Erik

:) I found the tabs in my grocery store tide had them at one time but stopped making them... I was so upset.. but I found purex tabs and bought a box and only use them for vacation trips: because they store so great. Maybe purex stopped making them too... oh now I'm in trouble because this is my last 6 tablets.. Maybe a dollar store or discount store the places where they buy products no longer used.. and sell cheap. Good luck I'll be checking if I see any you better believe I'm going to buy them..:3dglasses

Does Captain Hook play a role in the pirate night? My daughters are huge Peter Pan fans.

Yes, he does. We were on Deck 10 (port side, I think) watching the Pirate Party and he was about two feet away from us.

Someone asked to see a photo (Pat?). So here it is! This is the stripped down version after waves and Mickey icons were removed so the kids would have pieces to build a shuffle board game with:rotfl: Nah, we don't have cruise on the brain:rotfl2:

Love the ship and Love DH in the mickey ears - pink, no less!

Cute photos from the birthday party...

DSC01164.jpg
Very cute pic's & Happy Birthdays to your girls! Two parties are a pain, but here's my take on it. My brother and I are 2 years and 2 days apart. My parents always celebrated our birthdays together on the day in between - scarred me - I want my own cake!:rotfl2: DH and I are 3 years and 3 days apart. He knows now that we celebrate each birthday separately. :thumbsup2 More parties!
We are pretty much packed and ready to go.

Yea! So jealous of those of you that are ready to go. I have the best of intentions and always START packing well ahead, but usually end up FINISHING packing hours (let's get real - minutes or seconds!) before its time to go to the airport.:sad2:
Was anyone watching The Amazing Race tonight and notice the mouse ears on the road sign in Hong Kong? Very cool.
Ken
I look for it on Tivo tonight!:thumbsup2

Good idea on the baby detergent. All three kids are sensitive (get it from DH) and we also use HE. I haven't used Ivory Baby, but for years all I could use was Dreft (before the Free stuff was available). That was good.

Congrats!! I am assuming that since I rebooked so late, I won't get magnets, but what a nice surprise it would be if I did.

Can you tell me where you found the laundry tablets. I have looked in all of the stores in my area and cannot find them. I even went online and looked for them with no luck.

Martha

:) I found the tabs in publix.. they were purex tabs.. tide made them at one time.. maybe purex stopped too..I only use them for vacation trips.:woohoo:

I am a little bit of a computer junkie :surfweb: Last night I was the last one awake at home and got this idea to make a Disney Graduation Diploma. It needs some work as I just came up with this idea late last night but here is what I came up with....

diploma.jpg.w560h432.jpg

I was thinking that I could print these out and take them to DL this weekend and get them signed by Mickey. I am sure we could also get them signed once we were on board too. If anyone wants one for their child let me know.

I am going to work on the design and wording a little more so I will let those interested know when (in my spare time :lmao: ) I get this finished.

Not sure if Disney would have a problem with this or not??? It is homemade and really just for our own memories. :confused3

Yes and I carry Seventh Generation Liquid with me. I've just put it in an old shower gel bottle and have never had a problem. When I filled it the first time, as I added the liquid I marked on the bottle each measured amount and then just dump some in. Seventh Generation is made in both liquid and powder, for both washing machine types. When traveling, I have found that top loading machines are the least offensive as far as having residue remaining from previous washes.

When getting first started washing, I smell the machine. If there is a fragrance I will either 1) wash a load of other family member's clothes (I'm the one with the problem) or 2) Run and empty load.

Good luck!

Have a great day everyone!

Lori

I was thinking everyone should hold up a sign with a name on it toward the camera.

Also wish we had taken a group shot but quite a few had to leave before we finished the last of the sign and never got around to it.

Thanks, everyone for making it a success.

Good food, good friends ..... good times. Sort of like cruising without the rocking motion...

Richard, I have a huge favor to ask. I'm trying to finish off the "Flat Stanley" project today so I can get it in the mail. I took some pictures of Flat Stanley on the banner paper but would love to print off the finished product of the disboarders holding the banner. I also want to make a print for my own album so could you PM me the picture and I'll print it off. Thanks again for all you did.

Duct Tape..... never travel without it.

i saw something on the discovery channel about space week and they showed this book about when an astranaut has gone crazy or psychotic in space you should tie him up with duct tape!!!!!!!! :rotfl2:
