It was 85 degrees here in Virginia today and I have serious spring fever! Anyone like to Golf? :sunny:

OK I really hate you, it is 50F or 10C here and we are a good 1 or 2 months away from gofl season here........That is just not fair.

Tried to convince DW that I shoudl go on the golf excursion while in the Canary Islands, being a non golfer that she is she said I could go but woudl have to find some place else to sleep for the rest of the cruise. Considered it but thought I best pass on that one for now.

Cheers!!

Pat

Hello to all and welcome to Pooh and Tinker (if I missed any other new people I am sorry and hello to you as well).

Debbie--I hope all your bad luck (earthquakes AND power outages AND no internet/cable) is over. Please do not bring such luck to the cruise!:)

Spring hit the Northeast in a big way today and the kids and I spent the day skiing on the slush in our T-shirts (too hot even for long sleeves)!!! Finally, a fun day to keep my mind off of the upcomming cruise. Winter is returning in the next few days so we enjoyed it while it lasted.

Happy planning all--thanks for all the posts, it's always fun to read them.

Hey fellow Indiana native. Oracles right?
So KEWL that so many that have connection to the state are on this cruise.

Fish Extender....Debbie (EpcotKilterFan) is the one to blame for these.
fishx.jpg

it is the thingie with the pockets that hangs from the fish outside the cabin.
That way if anyone has something to drop off, they just put it in the pockets.
Got a lot of neat gifts on the Panama Canal repo and the 11 Nights in Paradise cruise.
Where to get one? There was someone on the 11 night that made them for that cruise. Supposedly they can be found in dollar stores.
I have a llime green one! I was going to try to make one....been bored siiting around in the wheelchair since my surgery! Today I picked out excursions and did some sewing.....making a baby quilt to sell at our Bunny in the Park festival to start making money for Relay for Life.

Welcome to all the new people who are posting...this looks like it is going to be a blast!!

Am I the only one who has a packing list done???

Saratoga NY? I work at Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa at Disney World! :wizard:

We are Saratoga Springs DVC owners....we love that resort...what do you do there? In fact after the cruise we're flying back to Orlando and staying at SSRS for the Memorial Day weekend before returning home.

Hey OH_6....

I know you guys said you're so busy you're not keeping up with the boards as much....but if you see this....we thought of you today. We got another tie for our collection....a disney villains tie! :) I wish it had some of the more fun villains like Ursula and Maleficent & the Wicked Queen (I'd actually LOVE a wicked queens and witches tie).....it does have Maleficent and the Wicked Queen...but as the dragon and the little ugly old witch...but it also has Jafar, Cruella, Scar, and the big demon from Fantasia....it's fun!

We've started a packing list...but I keep changing it so it's kind of an exercise in futility for poor Jason! :)

I work at Artist's Palette. Right now I am off because of my knee surgery, I should be back the first week of April, but I won't get to see you after the cruise because we are going on the Med. cruise on the Carnival Freedom, and won't be back until June 8.

As far as packing, I AM going to pack next week for practice....I want to take my big suitcase, but I want to see how much it will hold and still be under 50 lb! I might just take 2 smaller ones. :laundy:

I'd like to know what a "fish extender" is as I've never heard of them.:confused3

I'm so glad you asked this! I was going to ask and even did a google search to see what this was! :surfweb: Ha! I see why that was futile now!

Okay, I have a question. Since this is the first cruise to Barcelona, I don't know if anyone will know the answer, but I'll ask anyhow. We have a 11:30ish flight from Barcelona and we are using DCL transfers to get us to the airport. Are we going to be cutting it close with this or will DCL make sure we are there in plenty of time. I think my dh read not to book a flight before 10am, which we didn't. Does this mean DCL will do their part to get us to the airport on time?

Nope, that is a standard document on the computer and even seperate ones for different types of trips. :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Be careful lifting don't mess up the knee.

whew - and here I thought I was being a bit rententive!! I also keep a running list in my PDA. This way when I find I don't wear something I delete it!! From what I have been reading the temps should be in the 80's - I was originally going with 4 pair of shorts - am now thinking of re-doing that down to 3. (I use travel clothes that rinse and dry in 20 minutes). Seems like we need long pants more than shorts...opinions?

I am also wondering about all my wonderful Disney T shirts - is this a "states" thing? From the travel shows and web sites - seems that sneakers and t-shirts are something we in the US wear a lot, but are not as common in Europe. I don't want to stick out like a sore thumb (yea, I know, as soon as I open my mouth I am tagged tourist).

Since I wear orthotics in my shoes the sneakers are not really an option - I have to wear a full shoe when doing a lot of walking. I use crocs mostly while at my per diem job (ED RN), but in my full time job (paramedic) I wear boots...thus the orthotics. Are there any thoughts about white sneaks? I don't own black ones since I can't wear them as a nurse.

Of course we have our packing lists done also (and a box in my closet in which things we weon't use in the meantime are being added as we come across them: sample sized laundry stuff, the kids' pins, jewlry I won't wear otehr than formal night, etc.).

My daughter and I are splitting the differnce on the weather and packing primarily capris.

When I lived in Spain (gulp--16 years ago) you rarely saw anyone in shorts or t-shirts. I don't really know how everyone dresses now. The Europeans my husband works with never seem to be that casual--even on weekend BBQs and hte like, but the exchange students we have every summer always bring both shorts and Ts. SO, I guess this post isn't goign to really be any help to you at all!:confused3

That's a great idea. I think that it still hasn't hit me yet that it really is getting THAT close! :) I need to get busy!

Well assuming you don't quit or retire anytime soon...I'm sure we'll see you there sometime in the future when we come "home" to stay at the World....and now we'll recognize you from the cruise! :)

It is a mere 8 weeks until I will be winging my way to OKW at WDW...8 weeks and 2 days until we sail...

It is SO much closer than we realize!!! (for those of us who live in 2 week increments - a short 4 pay periods!!!)

It is close!!!

You're in exactly the same boat as us (excuse the pun! ). Our flight leaves BCN airport at 11:40am and we have the DCL transfers, too. Our TA assured us that should not be a problem....so we're not too concerned.
