May 12, 2007 -- Taking the Magic to the Mediterranean -- 14 day Repo Cruise! Part 2

Connie, etc. (already forgotten who else wants to go to pyramids). If any of you feel more comforatble with someone who speaks Spanish (alas I am not fluent ) or just want to travel with more of a group to the pyramids (busses or taxis depending on what seems to make more economic sense when we are actually there--leaning towards busses which are FUN anyway) you are WELCOME to tag along (note, I wil have two kids in tow--I'll try to keep them from driving you crazy ). I will post on my dooor the afternoon before we arrive in Tenerife what time we plan to meet on the gangway. So, you can just swing by 6002 sometime that evening and find out the time and we will all meet up. I hope that works for everyone (all about keeping it simple here).

Oh, Kids will be great! You forget, I am GRANDMA age! ANd going on the bus will be fine too. Several of my friends from England have been to the Canaries on vacation. So I know it's very safe and touristy!

I just can't wait!

you know what, I'll bet some people were not using magnets....they were using tape or something like that and ruined it for the rest of us! Too bad.

And I normally don't post jokes but I am wondering if we all try this if it will work or not

I urgently needed a few days off work, but I knew my Boss would not allow me to take a leave.
I thought that maybe if I acted "CRAZY" then he would tell me to take a few days off.

So I hung upside down form the ceiling and made funny noises.

My co-worker (who's Blonde) asked me what I was doing?

I told her that I was pretending to be a light bulb so that the Boss would think I was "CRAZY" and give me a few days off.

A few minutes later the Boss same into the office and asked "What are you dong?"

I told him I was a light bulb.

He said "You are clearly stressed out. Go home and recuperate for a couple of days.

I jumped down and walked out of the office. When my co-worker (the blonde) followed me, the Boss said to her, "And where do you think you're going?"



She said, "I'm going home too, I can't work in the dark!"

We use our dry earse boards heavliy to keep up with one another. And I am so excited about the other signs we made. I'm hoping more specific information will come along soon. I do know I have read people posting they used post-it style paper and then took paint off when they tried to remove them. Mayeb DCL can have a magnets only policy.

Goodmorning all, OK this is bad news, will call DCL right now regarding door signs.

We're leaving two weeks from right now, so really feeling the crunch of time. I'm sure that is where most posters are about now.

Padalyn, we only lose power in the serious heat of summer... I should say only when I have a very full freezer of food!

No way! This is so not fair! How will I ever find my room? As it was last time I had magnets and still managed to attempt to enter someone elses room by mistake! Imagine what I'll be like without them!

There is a website called travelite.org. It shows you how to pack for a month with only 7 items of clothing! HA HA

Regarding the magnets, I'm sure that if Disney was to change this policy, they wouldnt be able to do it overnight. Can you imagine the level of complaints if they went around
a) removing or
b) telling you to remove your special decorations?
As a crew member I wouldnt want to be on a ship with that many upset Disney fans. I think most people who do this are repeat cruisers...

At any rate, it will be a nightmare for them to enforce. Much easier for them to offer the use of a paint friendly tape...

Just in case, I will play around with ideas to add magnets to our fish extenders..I will let eveyone know what I come up with.

I intend to behave like a "pirate" and put mine up anyway! maybe I should add some kind of skull and crossbone warning to anyone who would remove them..

I hope you're right! I don't think Magnets are a problem anyway. They could just insist you use magnet tape! It would make more sense

Well, I just spoke to Dennis at DCL and he had already heard the rumor and had read the thread, so he is going to check into it and get back to me. They seem to think it is a rumor, but they are going to make some calls. Apparently they've had several calls about it.

Good morning (afternoon) everyone. Thank you all so much for your kind words and thoughts for DH and his grandmother. She was an incredible lady and will be missed. The services this afternoon are going to be difficult, but we have really enjoyed telling stories yesterday and this morning.

I jumped onto DH's laptop while the DD's are doing their homework (they are really cranky about this ) so I have been able to catch up on the thread .

ScottH - very KEWL starboard trivia - might actually remember starboard is right this time

Hope everyone gets their passport issues straightened out. I usually bring the kids passports with us when we fly as a form of ID. I didn't for the trip to Pittsburgh though. I didn't want to take ANY chance of losing them at this point!

JT (elderfam's DH) love the idea of "daily" 1/2 way parties

Got our Cafepress sweatshirts Friday afternoon before we left. They are really nice and DD's actually wore them on the plane. It is too warm in Pittsburgh to wear them though. It was 85 yesterday - gorgous!

No Doc's or magnets as of Friday, but I do have a fellow DIS'er checking my front door while we are gone. Maybe we'll have doc's as a nice surprise when we get home .

Cquick - LOVE the hidden mickey puppy! very cute!

We are also staying at the Airport Marriott Saturday night (on pts! ) and flying out early, early Sunday morning. The fountains Saturday night sound great.

We saw POC on the Dumbotron after the Pirate Party on our Wonder trip last month.

Pyramids on the Canary Islands? I missed this somewhere! Does someone have a link? It sounds like something that would be good to do with the kids.

Didn't read the link about the door magnets? Please tell me that we can still have door magnets?!
