Anyone know when Jersey week is at WDW? It's in November, but WHEN in November. We have the "Ultimate Disney Vacation" (per 17 year old) planned and hope that we are not over-run. We could switch which dates we cruise...we're going on the 4th and to WDW after the cruise.

I like your ideas Kissimmee!

It is the first week in November, the 3rd thru the 7th (M-F) in 2008. The cruise that leave out of NY are packed that week. I don't know about the FL cruises.

Shutters and or the INTERNET café should offer a Door magnet design and printing program. Or offer a Kids program to draw on a Door Magnet sheet and hang therir art on their doors and the staff could walk around and place magnetic ribbons on the doors with the best efforts for each age group.

The Shops could sell a kit with a blank, outlined or even a preprinted 8 1/2 x 11 magnet sheet specific to each cruise with magic (Get it? Magic) markers for you to personalize it... That way when new cruisers see a door Magnet for the first time, they won't be tempted to duct tape something to the door.

Sorry my imagination was getting away from me...

Since we are figuring ways for DCL to make more $$$, here is mine:

Shrink wrap all the menus from the cruise and offer them to guests to buy in Treasure Ketch. That way they won't keep "disappearing" every night!

Hi all,
Level of sanity around here has taken a serious drop! DD solved the last clue last night and when she realized it was a Disney Cruise was soooo excited!:cheer2: First words were (interpreting through the scream) "I've always wanted to go on a Disney Cruise. I know so much about the ships already!" DW's excitement turned to panic after about 30 mins when she started into her "packing panic" mode. Probably a subconscious reason that I didn't tell them sooner. Once they had settled down somewhat it was my turn to turn into a blabbering idiot as I tried to tell them all about the cruise, the board, what we have planned and all the people in one breath. Showed them the Disboards and DD was buried in the computer until bed. Perhaps tonight we can have a conversation that we can call sane!
Regards to all from the sunny Okanagan Valley!
Greg:) :) :)

How much fun was that!!!
Your family must be so excited!!!
I'm excited for you:yay: :yay:

I might be joining you at Michaels/Joann's tomorrow. No subbing job to be found. (or at least one I want to take...:rolleyes1 ) Do I really want to sub at Pine Hills Elementary????:scared1:

Let us know. I don't have firm plans yet with Connie I'm having driveway work done and they are pouring the concrete tomorrow at 8 am so I may need to be there for a while. I'm thinking around 10am at the Florida mall Joann's and then Michael's after..

:cheer2: :cheer2: Welcome to the rest of Greg's family:cheer2: :cheer2:

I'm so glad the cat's out of the bag. I've been wondering all weekend if they figured it out or you told them. Now the pressure is on to get ready!!!

Magnets--Kelly and others, thank you for clearing up the issue and confirming our magnets and fish extenders are okay. Deanna--like you my first thought was that sticker/tape/glue users should be fined also, but like you I suddenly realized that could lead to "pranksters" getting someone else fined. I do think educating people is key. Also, Kissimee, good idea on the selling of magnet supplies. Actually, "make your own agnetic door sign" would be a great early in the cruise club/lab activity (I think even the teens could like this) and a good chance for the CMs to drive hthe point home with kids that ONLY magnets can go on doors.

Busses--They are extra fun on vacation as they are a great glimpse into the local culture (and a novelty for those of us living where there is no public transit). Chris, I do still like busses even when I take them every day. When I turned 16 I took driver's Ed. and my parents had decided to buy me a car when I got my DL. But, I found I much prefered taking the EXCELLENT RTD buses they have in Boulder (and Denver and all the sournding towns) and asked if they would just keep paying for my bus pass instead (what a strange teen I was:rotfl: ). I didn't get my DL unitl I was 20 and was going to college in a town where the bus did not go to the stables I wanted to take riding lessons at.

Greg--Awesome about the cat being out of the bag. Hello to Cyn and Sarah if they happen to be reading this.

:welcome: Glad the secret is out!

See you real soon!

JT here (Princess Cynthia's DH), (hey, maybe I should refer to her as PC!)

So, PC is at work and I have the DisBoards all to myself.

I understand the GPS crowd is concerned about determining the exact 'absolute' 1/2 way point(s). I'm more of a 'relative' kind of guy and maintain we can always have a 1/2 way party celebrating where we were 2 hours ago compared to where we'll be 2 hours from now. :sail:

PC certainly immersed herself in the fish-extender production process. I was getting concerned when she contemplated moving the production line from our dining room table to a small manufacturing firm off-shore. Fortunately, we have our dining room table back and can have a family meal again. Sorry, no off-shore contracts were let. :fish:

This will be my first trans-lant cruise not courtesy of the Navy. So, I'm excited to see how the other half lives and how the Magic rides in open ocean blue-water. :yay:

Let me see if I understand correctly, magnets = good, superglue = bad. :teacher:

Off to have dinner on our newly cleared off dining room table.

JT

Thanks for the clarification on the door decorations. I have a few magnets and will be putting them out!

Now if they banned the Fish Extender!! I would have to protest that one! :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Another nice day here, but now a bit of rain. So much to do, so little time!

Deb

PS.- Gydell :thumbsup2

I've never heard of Jersey week, do you mean, like, New Jersey resident's week?

Well, it's a good thing there's only 3 of us and we can eat in the kitchen, becaue my diniing room table is still fish extender central....the only table long enough to use my quilt cutter and board!

Connie--Jersey week is a week in the fall when NJ schools are out. A disportionately large number of WDW and DCL guests are from NJ, so it really does affect attendance levels.

I am contemplating using DCL transfers from the Port to BCN airport. It would be $25 per person. So it would be $50.... US$$ which would be about 37 Euro.

Any idea how much a taxi would be from the port to the airport??

It may be worth it for the ease of transfers, but we may be at the airport waiting for a while as our flight does not leave until 2 pm.

So pros and cons to all of it.

Debbie

I do notice a lot of my guests seem to be from the same state during the fall and spring.....sometimes EVERYONE is from New Jersey, other times, EVERYONE is from Michigan! I have never really thought of it as "Jersey" week, I am going to ask my co workers and my supervisor! Gotta be ready for that!

OK, we'll meet at Joannes by the Florida Mall at 10am tomorrow (Tuesday). Michael's is just across from the Mall, too. So we should be able to find everything.

Everybody come!

My handy dandy Passporter says it's about 25-30 Euros for a taxi from the port to the airport.
