I don't know if I am going to be on much over the next few weeks, but I wanted to wish everyone safe travels on the Repo! I wish I was going with you all since the last Repo was such a blast! Have a great time, take lots of pictures, and come back safe!

Bob,
Reference cameras, we have an Olympus SP-500 UZ that we bought for our African safari, it is 6 megapixels, has a 10X optical zoom and an additional 3X digital zoom. It has a good sized viewing screen. It is not a SLR, can be used in strickly automatic mode, or various stages of manual settings. Olympus uses AA batteries (we usually just use the lithium, they last longer, but we also have rechargable ones) and xD picture cards. We really like this camera for our purposes.

Juergen,
You are welcome to the wine and cheese party, we will be at Old Key West, and will post the room number after we arrive and check in. If you do not have a way of checking the boards, send us a pm and we will let you know our last names and we will leave the room number on our message on the phone, so you can call OKW and ask for our room.

I also want to wish Jamie a Happy Birthday:bday:

Linda, I sent you a pm about the Scrapbooking Class.

Lynn:eeyore:

Thanks for the birthday wishes for Jamie. I will pass them along to her when I see her today!

We are ahead of you on this one! LOL

SSnyder has taken on organizing this. So she can help ya out!

I have been trying to keep track of the birthdays and special events and someone (I forget who) was helping. That will be sent when I send along the spreadsheet!

See we are looking out for your busy schedule! :surfweb: :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Debbie

Thanks for looking out for me! I'll see what SSnyder has so far and add them to the list!

Linda--pass b-day wishes along for us as well (we think we found her in HSM but if so she is so far up on our screen the top half of her face is cut off:mad: )

Do you think that as May 1st approaches we might get a more specific time and date (or am I missing it??)? Jason and I would probably be interested in doing something like this except we have spa reservations some days, etc. on some of the sea days so we need to make sure it doesn't conflict.

:tigger:
Erik

Sure, I'll sit down and figure out this week which day works best, I am tentatively looking at May 16. Of course, if it conflicts with your schedule, we can do a second group on another day or I can organize the whole packet for you to pick up sometime after the class.

Hey Barb--My in laws (Hank and Jan) who will be cruising also live just down the road from you in Boulder:) David grew up in Boulder and I lived in both Boulder and Nederland as a child. I noticed your location when you started posting last week and just wanted to say "welcome" and enjoy knowing someone from our "hometown" will be along.

It is a small world - My parents both moved to Boulder as young kids, back when 28th street was a dirt road - LOL. I was born and raised in Boulder. Lived there until about 1972, then north eastern Colo for 10 years, back to Longmont for a few years, overseas and CA and finally back to Longmont in 1989. Always end up coming back "home" and now with the grandkids only 4 miles away I guess we will be here forever.

Is this separate from the message boards? Because Jason and I are definitely willing to be the message board....and if this is separate and there are no other deck 8 volunteers we coudl probably do this, too.

:tigger:
Erik

Yep---hall monitors aka message boards. Didn't realize that we had a list going. Yippee! I just need Ssnyder to send me over the list of who's assigned on each deck.

Also, txaggie94gigem has agreed to be a floor 2 monitor from 2545.

We can always have more than one on each deck! Don't have to walk as far to find the info!

Fish extenders

I'm sure it's okay, but I'm going to ask anyway...Would it be okay if I broke with tradition and only made one or two big pockets for my "fish-box." I'm going for easy, and I think I would be less upset if a simple version were "mysteriously" taken:headache: . If I take the time for lots of pockets, that thing better be in my family for generations.:lmao:

Watching the weather channel this am and sure hope all of you on the east coast are ok. Reminded me of the typhoons we had in Asia so do take care!

Scott - stairs it will be but what is a Bubba Keg?

Sea Hunt fans - can't believe there are others out there! This was also resposible for giving me the diving bug!

First time on Disney but you have said the magic word - SOUFFLE!!!! :cheer2: Please tell me they are standard dessert fare!

What a terrible thing to have happen in Virginia! Somebody just went into one of the buildings and starting shooting everyone in sight. These school shooting are so scary, there;s no way to protect yourself at all!
My condolences to all the families involved.

I think you should do anything you want on your fish extender! The original one was made with 5 pockets because that's what we found to buy. You should see Erik's: it's completely orginal! The more creative the better!

we have a new olympus too...it is an SLR camera with 8 megepixelas and 10x optical zoom...it looks like a professional camera with the big lens and it takes great pictures...and the best part is is has virtually no delay!!! inside with the flash it does but outside, i can catch all kinds of action i could not with my other camera! by the way...my Sams Club has the olympus 1gig xD cards for 29.99.....

Olympus EVOLT E-500 is on sale at circuit city online for $664.99, comes with pop up flash and 2 lenses....just look for it on their website to see it....i can't tell you how happy we are with it!!! and the zoom is incredible!!!!!!

Creative fish extender??!!! Cool-ee-o!!! I now have permission to go crazzzy! How fun!!!

I've never had the chocolate souffle, so I have a mission for someone who really is sympathetic to the poor deprived soul (me!) who has only one questionable Palo ressie--

please smuggle one out for me!!!! ;)

I promise to cherish you as the best person  on the ship for the duration of the cruise--and THAT is WAY meaningful, isn't it?????

ONBOARD DISmeet!!!!

:cheer2: All Westbound PANAMA CANAL cruisers in May 2008... :dance3:

i have picked a day with the help of Linda (seaulater!)....

you need to put it into a Photobucket album first. It makes it so much easier....photobucket.com.

Just register and follow the instructions. Then all you do is click on the bottom choice, click copy and then in your message click paste.

That's the only way I know how to do it.

PS...I will put a special slot in my Fisshie-stender (I need acreative name for my personal fish extender!!!) that can be reserved for Palo treats.

or I could just stand outside Palo and beg for crumbs...

Go to Palos and ask for a take out. They will gladly do it for you!

i was looking up something on the DCL website and they were talking about the special fare at $899 per person for this cruise and i had to laugh when it said "Hurry! this is for a limited time only - April 9-16 so call now!" :lmao: :rotfl2:
