May 10 2014 Disney Fantasy Western Caribbean Cruise Meet

Love DCL (I've done 2 14 nights and a 4 night), but also love RCCL. We did a family cruise a few years ago on Royal and had a great time (kids are all between 24 and 31 now), quality wise I found them both to be equal, I like the rotational dining on DCL a lot but RCCL has a lot more for the 20-30 crowd to do.

Hi all!!

We signed up for this cruise while on Fantasy Eastern Caribbean Cruise is in July!!

I made the mistake of not signing up for FE for this year (missed the deadline), and don't want to make that mistake again!! Where do I sign up for FE? :-)

I've heard they're really nice as well. I think it was RCCL that one of our tablemates recommended to do Alaska on since their itineraries are longer than DCL's.

Since we are so far away I won't figure out a deadline till late on

Welcome to the cruise. Here is the info on how to sign up for the FE. It is also avaliable on the facebook page. Hollywood Glitter is maintaining the list :cool1:

anyone know how many people/cabins are on the FE list already?

I'm traveling with some other Disney Fans and we are wondering if we want to participate.

I'm already a member of the Facebook group so I figured I better post here as well. This will be our second cruise. My DS (13) and I were on the Dream in May. We also had to do it again. I can't wait to be onboard again!

Looking forward to meeting you all!

I went ahead and created a google spreadsheet to tally attendees for Mixology class. If you are interested please fill in a row with your party's information. Right now, signing up doesn't commit you to anything - you can always take your name off later. If we make it to at least 25 participants then I'll contact DCL about the details and setting it up.

And, without further adieu....: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AvRLten1FxdhdEF1dHdvdFlmaHBDVGdERkR5c3pubHc#gid=0

Hi All! I jumping on board finally! On this trip it will be me, DH, DS, DF (friend and fellow DISser) and her 2 DDs. We can't wait for our first cruise. pirate:

So I need to ask, anyone else hitting the clearance racks now to grab short/swimsuits for the cruise? My DH think I'm a little nutty for doing this.

Excited that my DH & I are finally sailing on the Fantasy!! :woohoo: AND, seeing a familiar face or two will make it even more fun! :wave2: Karen!! Looking forward to seeing if they've improved the exit from the forward elevators on the pool deck so the Quiet Cove doesn't have a constant parade of non-adults.

I've done the martini, tequila, wine and champagne tastings on other cruises and loved them all. So what's this Mixology class? Do we have to be "club" members and know the secret code to sign up?

:welcome:

Yes, the secret code is a must :). But since you're such an experienced taster, I'll share it with you

:ssst: All you have to do is praise me for all my super hard labor (of 5 minutes) creating such a wonderful spreadsheet. :ssst:

Mixology is a tasting that consists of 5 mixed drinks, the selection of which seems to vary from sailing to sailing (although my favorite, B-52s, are a common choice). The one I went to, one attendee was selected to make a drink as the bartender explained how to do it (5 attendees selected overall). I've heard it used to be done where everyone got to make at least one drink but it seems Disney has moved away from that format (to my disapproval).

Would love to see you there! (Presuming we can pull the numbers to make it happen)

Best,

Marise

Thanks for the welcome, Marise :worship: I bow to your superior skills and offer praise and adulation for all your super hard work!! Now, how the heck do I get my name on the spreadsheet? Nothing I type will stay in any of the cells--I even tried signing into Google docs.

Only 9 months till the cruise--Hoping the time passes really, really fast!!!!!

Oh my! I guess my superior spreadsheet skills need work after all.
You should be able to just type in your information and have it stay automatically, but if you're having problems you can just tell me the info and I'll type it in for you.

Is anyone else having trouble with the spreadsheet and needs me to enter in their information?
Better yet, is anyone familiar with google docs spreadsheets and maybe know some setting I should change that would correct this?

I have been MIA for a while ... lots going on in the real world and we just returned last week from a WDW visit. Are you trying to set up a private mixology session - is that the point of the google doc?

Thanks! :thumbsup2

Thank you from all of us for organizing this. I have never been to a mixology, this should be fun.:dance3:

::yes:: That's the idea :).
Right now I'm just trying to see if we would have enough people to make it work. The cost is $15/person and Disney requires we have at least 25 attendees to be willing to set up a private session for us. If we get to 25 on the spreadsheet then about a month or two before the cruise I'll contact DCL and request the event. They'll get back to me with a venue and a time about one or two weeks before our sailing (they say two weeks, but last time it was one). Right now there's no commitment from being signed up; you can always take down your name later. Closer to our cruise date, I'll set a deadline for when I'll no longer accept changes to the spreadsheet.

You're welcome! I really hope it works out. I've had this fall through before because we could only gather 22 attendees instead of the required 25. That was for the more expensive Champagne tasting though (we were trying to do a Champagne Girls event) so figures crossed we'll get better luck this time :)

Thank you ... I'm going to try to add four of us to your spreadsheet. :goodvibes

We've attended Mixology on the Dream and the Fantasy and the classes are awesome no matter which ship we've been on!
