May 10 2014 Disney Fantasy Western Caribbean Cruise Meet

I'm also wondering about excursions. Does anyone just get off the ship and explore? I'm nervous about not knowing our way around.

Hey Everyone! I just came off of a 7 night WC on the Fantasy and am so happy to see a community already started for the next cruise! I will be sailing with my DS who will be 5 and DM. I would love to be part of this group! I always love getting tips and tricks from other DCL cruisers and meeting new friends! Before you know it we will be at the Sail Away Party on board the beautiful disney Fantasy!

Do you remember what the schedule was for dining? Casual, formal, pirates, semiformal night on the WC?

Hello Everyone....

Our family just stepped off The Dream this morning. My husband and I were married in Jamaica and next year will be our 10th anniversary. :) As soon as we found out The Fantasy was sailing to Jamaica, we immediately knew this was going to be the cruise we would book. We booked on board and are soooo happy. This cruise will be our 5th (3 on The Dream, 1 on The Magic, and this cruise). :)

It'll be our 10 year anniversary too! We didn't get married in Jamaica, but spent our honeymoon there - what a nice way to re-celebrate princess:-style!!

Hi all- I am now about 90% sure that we'll be on this cruise with y'all! This will be our 4th Disney cruise. We have done 2 4-nighters on the Dream and did the Fantasy Western Caribbean in May. We booked this cruise while on the Fantasy in May but my DW wasn't sure that she wanted to go again (she loved it but thought we might want to take a year off and save the $$). Anyway, she recently lost a good friend and has decided that life is too short to miss these opportunities (which I completely agree with) so I think we're on!

We're a family of four- me, DW, DD (14 at time of cruise), and DS (11 at time of cruise). We are huge Disney fans and there's no vacation we prefer to a Disney cruise. Would love to hear if there are any other kids around the same age so that they know some other kids on board before. In May, we met a family from Nova Scotia that I got in touch with before the cruise and the kids became awesome friends on the cruise (but now miss them so much). We are trying to talk this family into going on this cruise also but I'm not too optimistic due to their school schedules.

I also really like this itinerary:

- I have always loved Grand Cayman, and will take any chance I get to go back there. Most amazing snorkeling ever!
- Cozumel- we did Paradise Beach (with the other family) and loved it. May try to do Chankanaab this time to let my kids try swimming with Dolphins, but I wouldn't hesitate to do Paradise Beach again if we don't.
- Jamaica- never been there, but looking forward to finding something to do. I don't do the formal planned excursions, but like to research and find things myself. Plus, we're excited not to be going to Costa Maya. I loved it- we did the day at Nohoch Kay and my family liked it there, but didn't like Costa Maya overall as a town so I'm glad we're not going back.
- Castaway Cay- two words- Castaway Cay!

Love the Fantasy, and CANNOT WAIT to spend another week floating in the Caribbean!

Sorry for the long post, but just wanted to introduce myself. Also, feel free to ask any questions. I've only been on the Fantasy once, but really try to get as much info as I can.

Also, I'm trying to get on the FB page but haven't been accepted yet!? Last time, we had 80 members by the time of the cruise and that's how I met that family from Canada.

10 months to go!

My DS is 14. He will be turning 15 the day we set sail!

Hi All! :wave2:

We just switched over to this sailing from the May 24th date. Right now, we're an all adult group of 5 (ages ranging from 20 to 60) but there may be more joining us. For the four that aren't me, this will be their second sailing with the first being 5/27/2013 on the Wonder to Alaska (TR posted). For me, will be my fourth cruise and so far the novelty or excitement of it isn't wearing off one little bit. pixiedust:

Will probably join the FE, but will wait to sign up at least until I know exactly how many people I'm traveling with :). Is there a sign-up deadline?

Just posted on FB as well but excited that the cruise is now less than 300 days away! We are staying at The World for 4 days before the cruise as well! Can't wait!!

Hi All!

Just checking in. I can't believe that we're under 300 days!

This cruise will be here before we know it!

:banana::woohoo:pixiedust:

Curious if the group will be cut off and spilt when it reaches so many rooms. I've read some people have been in groups with up to 60 rooms/150 people.

Be warned, I've heard a lot of people say that when they try DCL they don't go back. :)

I made that mistake once and will never do it again! After our first Disney cruise, we decided to try another line (Princess) to save some money. We immediately realized it was a mistake and exactly what we were missing by not going through Disney. I'm a DCL cruiser for LIFE!!!

::yes:: I have no desire to try other lines. We have such fantastic trips on DCL, why mess with a good thing.

We are so excited about our upcoming cruise. Can't wait to learn more about Disney Cruising. This will be our 10 year anniversary and will be sailing with our 8yo DS and 6yo DD. We went on a WDW/DCL honeymoon in 2004. We decided 3 nights on the ship were definitely not enough so this time we are going to do the 7 night. Can't wait to get to know some of the other cruisers and benefit from others knowledge.
