May 10, 2011 (5/10/2011) Cruisin' to Alaska on the Wonder - Who's with me!

What's the link to your thread?

Oh sorry...:rotfl2:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2294276

so are you guys doing an FE or has that still not been decided? also have you read that their may be no pirate night? that is the take on the boards on what we are being told....we all knew about the fireworks but never about no pirate night...have you been told whats up? Since your cruise is so early?

Thanks for the information!

As much as I would love to do an FE, I think we may skip it because I will probably overpack and have more bulky items in my suitcase for this cruise.

Are we doing a DIS meet at all? I didn't see one on here, so I wasn't sure if I missed it.

I know we're a quiet group, but I think it will pick up some now that we're so close :goodvibes

We are booked for a whale watching and mendehall glacier excursion through DCL and can't wait! I feel safer going through Disney just in case the boat doesn't get back in time or something like that at least the cruise ship won't leave without us. I guess I am just a little paranoid because we went whale watching in Canada a few years ago and our boat got lost.

Thanks! That's good to know. 1 tour operator claimed they never had their guests missed their cruise. But yes when I was on the med cruise last year our (independent) bus to Mt Versuvius broke down as the driver was reckless and overheat the vehicle on the way up, driving too fast uphill. It took us a longer time to get back to town to visit Pompeii... And I haven't learnt my lesson!

Anyway, the tours on Disney seems marked up, but not as much as the ones compared to the European port adventures. And after calling a few operators they keep directly me back to Disney cruise for booking. Am running out of time now, so I'll just stick with Disney's port adventures then.
;)

Hi everyone!

Sorry for being a very distant lead on this thread. I haven't been very responsive :confused3

I know these are all obvious statements :thumbsup2

So I noticed my wife is now on this thread and I didn't even know until she updated me that people are asking question about a cruise meet and stuff and I seen posts by her, kinda funny when you don't even know and find out by surprise :) I would be more than happy to have someone organize the cruise meet at the time. I have been super busy at work with new management, new boss, and major fundraising event in a week  too much going on.

So enough with excuses, would anyone like to get the ball rolling with a meet?

Making my first post. My friends and I will be traveling from Hawaii, and were wondering if a rain jacket was needed. Good to know we'd better pack that as well. We probably will be one of the most bundle bunch you will ever see, as we are used to 75+ weather. Most of us think we're freezing to death when the temperature drops in low 60's.

Looking forward to a new adventure. Can't wait to go on vacation.

Being from Florida, we're the same way! Usually we pick something tropical for vacation, but we've always wanted to see Alaska. It should be an amazing cruise! :goodvibes

I saw on the May 3rd cruise board that someone will be doing a live blog during their cruise and she was kind enough to share the link with me: http://www.carol-anne.ca/disney room.htm
A few people blogged live on the Med cruise before ours last May and it was really helpful, so I'm sure it will be a great read!

The past few cruises where I've been to a meet, it was pretty simple. Everyone just met in the promenade lounge at a certain time on the 1st or 2nd day. It was kind of fun running into eachother the rest of the cruise.

Thanks for the information. Will be sure to check it out as we will be staying in Seattle for a few days before heading out to Vancouver. One has never been on a cruise and the two of us has. There's much excitement as that last time we were on the Wonder was in 2004.

I'll throw it out there one last time. Does anyone know if there is an FE on the ship? There seems to be some interest but no definitive answer. Sorry if I am bearing a dead horse here but just thought it would be a nice treat for the kids.
Nonetheless - looking forward to the trip! :cool1:

Check out posts 155 & 156 of this thread - looks like a couple of people exchanged info about doing something.

We're trying to minimize luggage, so no FE exchange for us, but I hope you're able to find a group of folks to share with. Good luck!

I did not get a response, but would still be interested (although I've never done one before). Would it work if there were just two of us... Very quiet group.

Hello,

My family will be on the cruise in May and we would like to participate in the FE. This is our first cruise and we stumbled across the FE concept. Needless to say we are hooked! My family consists of my wife, my son Truman (age 1) and me. Being that this is our first FE we would welcome any gift suggestions.

Bill

I'm not sure there IS an FE yet. It's also our first cruise, and we'd like to participate, but I'm not sure where to start. Anybody more experienced willing to host it?

I have no experience too, but from what i gathered from other threads, there'll be a list of the rooms participating and the number / age of pple staying in the rooms. I am not sure what else is required from the host/hostess so better not commit myself to something I can't handle - will be on the road already next Friday - long long way to go for us to go from Asia...

If someone wants to host it, I'd like to participate. If this is any encouragement at all, I'll get something from Hong Kong Disneyland for the FE gifts.

Actually, that'd stress me out a little - not sure I could compete! What a long way to travel - but it'll be totally fun!

It sounds like many people will be on their first disney cruise May 10 to Alaska. This will be my fifth Disney cruise but I have never done the fish exchange before. From what I have gathered we just need a list of people who are participating and state room #s. Everyone participating needs to make or buy a fish extender to hang outside your room and then everyone passes out their goodies throughout the cruise by leaving them in the pockets of the fish extender. Since my husband, James started this thread I would be more than happy to organize the fish exchange, just let me know if you want to participate, how many people, names, adult or child, and state room #.

Sure, sounds great! And thanks for taking the lead.

Room #7619 (subject to change), 2 adults (DH and I)

I am leaving for Hong Kong on 29 April, so I'll need to know how many sets of gifts to buy by then.
:wizard:

:scared1: Time seems to be flying by............

Is our ship going to be pretty full? I see there is only verandah rooms left...
