we have NFL ticket.....so we get them all. We're on the Cleveland game now...is John1 there? These fans look like Frosty the Snowman!

NFL ticket is great....getting all the games. We don't have it coz I'm the only football fan in the house.

Yes, John1 and Alex are at the Browns game. They must be frozen!

OH MY GOSH, this is so sweet! We're watching abc family channel because they're showing Christmas shows all day. The previews just showed more that we want to watch at 5 and 6. I told Tyler one of those is my favorite Christmas show. He said, "You should love all the Christmas shows" and I told him I do. He said, "I just love Christmas so much because it's a time about giving and loving". Kids are so sweet sometimes.

As you can probably tell, since I've been here an awful lot today, despite Tyler being here with me, I'm TIRED of being in the snow. We've been out three times already! It's pretty and fun, but I've had enough for one day. We'll have to go out again to shovel after the snowplow comes through, so I'll just tell him we'll wait until then to go out.

Pictures coming next!

VERY SMART!! If you iron them, they will probably need ironing again when you get them out anyway. This way, you can unpack them, run them through the dryer with a damp bath towel and iron them "fresh."

We have so few things that need ironing any more--if it does not say "permanent press" I don't buy it.:rotfl:

Most of the clothes we buy over here say no tumble drying, which is a pain. I love biying tees over there that say we can tumble them. Can't see why there is a difference.

Good Morning everyone!! OMG, what a fun night we had last night. We did a progressive dinner with two other couples...one lives on the street behind us and the other a few streets away. Very fun. I had the dinner part, so I did a standing rib roast, creamy horseradish, scalloped potates and green beens almondine and french bread. I tried a recipe for the roast that I've never done before and it turned out perfect, I think I'll make it for Christmas dinner. All you do is have the rib roast come to room temp (which took about 3 hours for an almost 7 lb, 3 rib roast), and preheat the oven to 500 degrees. You roast it for 5 minutes per pound, then shut the oven off and leave it in there for 2 hours....WITHOUT opening the door. It was perfect. Fortunately I have two ovens so I was able to delay start the potatoes in the lower oven, and didn't have to worry about coming home until dinner time. It was so much fun and less stressful because you didn't have to worry about the cradle to grave components of a meal, that we all agreed we had to do it more often. Oh...and we also had pomegranite margs....YUMMY!!!!

That roast sounds wonderful. I might give it a go.

What are pomegranite margs? Marg to us is a shortened version of margarine!!

I can't imagine having to get in and out of all those heavy clothes! It is still really really windy here....almost like a tropical storm.

Margaritas...Cleveland up 8-0.

It's an absolute pain! That's why I'm tired of going in and out! ;) After I get the pics posted, we're going to head to the playland at Burger Kind or McDonald's.

I have a feeling that a "Marg" is a Margarita, I had a great pomegranate martini the other night it was made with cranberry/tangerine infuse vodka, very nice. The bartender said that they soak the cranberries and tangerine in the vodka for a month, then drain it, I wonder how the fruit tastes after the month, because the beverage was very good.

This is the part that Tyler shoveled for me:

This is my neck of the woods, we are still getting the storm up here, but just to have some fun, last year,

that's a lot of SNOW!
Yeah, and ours was pretty trampled. Wait till you see the pics I'm about to post of the forts across the street. That gives you a better idea of how much snow fell overnight. Uploading now.

PJ: BRRRRRR!!! Lots of snow! I'm sure you'll get that much or maybe more with this storm, right?

OK...Here's one fort a girl across the street made:

P1000266.jpg

And her brother made a bigger one. Here's the outside, with Tyler and the sister on the other side as she leads him to the opening:

Then Tyler on his way out. He told me it's divided into 3 rooms inside. Very cool!

Ok, those forts are so cool. We weren't allowed to have roofs on ours when I was a kid. So our forts had lots of walls and rooms, but no roof, really couldn't have secret meetings in them, lol.

Pj

OK...We're out of here. Tyler's starving, so we're headed to McDonald's or Burger King so he can play somewhere warm out of the snow! :lmao: And mom gets a break from the snow.

We are suppose to get a couple more hours of snow, so I would guess at least another couple of inches in addition to those photos from today.

I thought they were pretty cool too. Way better than the ones I had as a kid. I used to just tunnel into a big hill of snow and shovel out a fort from the inside. But no way am I doing that now, so I'm glad the neighbors did it and are letting Tyler play in them! :rotfl2:

Our street hasn't been plowed, but looks like enough cars have been through to smash it down enough to get out. Main road looks plowed, so we should be good. HAVE to get out of this house!

Holly and PJ, love the snow pics. Must be 20 years since I saw that much here. Enjoy it, you may as well.
