So what exciting plans does everyone have for the weekend? Not much here. Watching football tomorrow. We need to beat Kentucky. I have been keeping up with the house this week, so basically just laundry to do.

Tonight my oldest is having a friend over to play and then pizza. Tomorrow my dear friend is having her annual family harvest party...they go all out. About 100 people, it's catered (last year it was filet mignon), with two bouncy houses, DJ with fun music, a pumpkin patch (one pumpkin for each kid) and the finale is they fill up two large garbage cans (clean cans, not used) with full sized packaged candy and then dumps the candy in an area filled with hay and sends the kids in there with collection bags. My kids were in HEAVEN!! And on Sunday we'll recover as the kids enjoy their sugar highs!

Holy cow! That sounds AWESOME! How cool that they're able to provide such a good time and memorable event. :goodvibes And even better that your family gets to attend!

Plans for the weekend:

HOUSE AUCTION TOMORROW AT 2PM!!!!

Hairdresser on Sun.

BROTHER HEN LEAVES Sun 10:30am back on a flight to Jacksonville, FL where his home base is. He will try to get on another ship and go back to work. He's a merchant seaman....been sailing since he was 18....actually started by scrubbing the decks....now he's an engineer....an officer, I think....actually wears a white uniform.

I love him dearly and I'll be the first one to defend him fiercely....but as DH John likes to say......relatives are like fish....after three days, they stink!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Is it too late to join the Champagne Girls Group? Also, are we still having a Bunko Group going? I can organize it if nobody else has started it. We play Bunko every month.....we play Couples Bunko, the only way we can get the guys to come is to make it more of a drinking/cigar/gossip party than Bunko; I think the Bunko is just the excuse to get together! :happytv:

Ok, I think I caught up....

we lucked out and never lost power last night but some areas around us are still out. I guess the girls' school lost power about 45 min before the day was over so they just kept the kids through the rest of the day.

I like all the chatter, please don't stop! Even when not posting frequently, it is fun to read and such. I am sure once final payments are due and excursion lists are out there will be less "chatter" and more planning, but for now, chatter is good!

Weekend plans...friends over after school today. Soccer games tomorrow followed by yard work and unpacking (not sure that will ever end!) and then Sunday I am supposed to go to the Hawks game, but I still haven't decided if I am willing to go and watch them again:confused3 It gets pricey getting a sitter for a game day, so either Scott or I will stay home with the kids and the other will go to the game with my mom and dad.

I don't have to work on Sunday as I usually do.......If my friend Cathy wants to go to EPCOT, we'll do the Food and Wine Festival. She hasn't been feeling her best, having hip trouble. If she can't go, I am going to take my DH! Poor thing, he's second best! We can leave Patrick home with his brother on Sunday. He won't like it, but I say WHO CARES! (that sounds mean, but I DO like to spend time with friends or my DH!)

Lillygator, Chuck and I want to spend a few days at a condo on the beach at Siesta Key. Do you have any suggestions for a nice place to rent for a few days, or even a week? There is a respite care home in Sarasota on Bay Avenue and we plan to take Patrick there for a few days and then have some time to ourselves as an experiment, since we've NEVER done such a thing before!

Connie, I would love to add you to the Champgane Girls tasting. We have those who want to sample and those who will drink something else. Which do you prefer? Just PM me your last name and SR# or GTY and tell me what category you want to be placed in....champagne drinking or not. Don't forget to wear pink for our pic in a pink frame to be placed over your bar!

Laura/AntieBrat is doing the Bunko Groups....I think.....but she has been ill lately....I'm sure you can get on board when she gets healthy and returns again.

I was thinking the auction was today and felt bad about not wishing you luck. So......GOOD LUCK with the auction tomorrow! I'm feeling good vibes that it will be successful. :goodvibes

What a cool job your brother has! How long does he typically stay out to sea?

I hope the respite care works out for you, it's so important for you to take a break from caregiving so that you can stay fresh and ready to do it. It can be quite draining otherwise.

My stepdad was in a respite care everytime mom went into the hospital and it really helped the situation. Now he stays there as a permanent resident. It's local and personable and like a hotel....it's so nice. He loves it there and we get to see him often and we take him out whenerver we want and bring him back. It works well.

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Never too late! Shoot, I don't even drink champagne, but will have beer mug in hand instead! :rotfl: I'm just there for the fun and getting together. :goodvibes Hmm.....I think somebody's already organizing Bunco.....was it Noel?

No, it doesn't sound mean at all! You NEED to have time away. You HAVE to do it sometimes.

You and Chuck really need the time away alone! Sounds like you can make it happen, thanks to the respite care home. Awesome! What a great way for you both to re-connect with each other. :cloud9:

I have the Bunco list. I thought about publishing it again about a month ago, but people are still cancelling so I will re-post it after the cancel deadline....if that is okay with everyone!!

From your good vibes to God's ears....we can only hope that it goes and goes well!!!

What a cool job your brother has! How long does he typically stay out to sea?

It depends on what ship he gets on. Before 911.....he worked on a cruise ship that toured the hawaiian islands for over ten years....after 911 they went bankrupt and he was back on freighters and cargos. He was stationed in Jacksonville for the past couple of years and loves it there. But a new company took over and half of the ship lost their jobs....including my brother. Then he did a month of relief work in Virginia Beach while mom was sick. When that ended, mom had passed and he stayed here. Now he's going back to Jacksonville and we'll see what ship he gets on next....he's not on any permanent assigned ship at the moment. He'll take what he can get. But he has traveled all around the world at least once, probably more.

He told me this morning that his oldest son....lives in Virginia with his mom, they're divorced many years.....has signed up for the marines when he graduates this may......I'm so crushed. Not during a time of war. He'll go to Iraq. And the marines are the worst branch to be in. John is a Navy Vietnam Vet and that was bad enough. But a marine in Iraq today is so much worse. My brother is not happy about it, his mother is not happy about it and I am certainly not happy about it.....but my brother says this is what Tristan wants because they gave him the best deal and he wants to do aviation mechanics and work towards becoming a pilot. My heart breaks for this kid....I'm just sickened by the thought of him in Iraq.

Makes sense to wait...absolutely! :thumbsup2

Connie, there are lots of nice places...problem now it that it is season and everything is sky high!

Hi, all. I just found out about this thread. I booked a night at Hyatt MCO. I figured that it would be more convenient for a family of 4 to stay at the airport after traveling a whole day from WC. Anyone interested in sharing a limo or van to the port the next day?
Thanks

Welcome!!!! I'm staying in Cocoa Beach, but there are many on here staying at the Hyatt and they're getting together for breakfast I believe. They also have transportation arrangements that you might be interested in as well. You'll get replies from them soon I'm sure.

Where is WC?????

WELCOME! :cheer2: :yay: :woohoo:

Somebody has a list started with transportation from the Hyatt. Somebody else can get you more specific info. I have no idea when we're arriving, hopefully very early the morning of the cruise, but probably not on time to catch a ride with you and the others.
