Oh my gosh! I finally caught up, about 50 or so pages. And now of course I have to run. But I wanted to pop-in and say hi. I had dinner last night with my friend who is recovering from Non-hodgkins. She finally cut her hair, she looks cute with the buzz. She has her scan on Monday that will confirm, we hope, what the blood tests say.
Life has been stressful with my work and my DH's new firm. I really think we need a vacation! I'm looking forward to going to Tahoe over Thanksgiving week, but that is very far away it seems. This week-end, chores, birthday parties, guitar lessons, soccer. Calgon take me away!
I was born in Pasadena, lived there until I was almost 9 and my parents both worked at JPL in Pasadena.
What is JPL?
Dennis would probably NOT like to see a repeat! You should have seen the look on his face! He was playing his guitar on stage and he just STOPPED mid strum!

So out of character for his

Too much tequilla!
I want to see the repeat!
I am so glad to hear that your boss and the controller handled the situation. Makes one wonder how long she will remain a supervisor!!!
Ditto!
Well, he's thrown another hitch into the matter. Since the neuropsychologist is out of network with his insurance provider, we have to pay in full up front before the first appointment. We're talking about $1700 just for the diagnosis. So now he wants me to cancel that appointment and wait for him to find a place where we won't have to do that. Last night I was just too stressed out to think of what to do. MY thoughts are to borrow that money from my mom because neither of us has that amount just sitting in savings (and I'd have to fight to get her to let me pay her back, but that's another issue), tell Tyler's dad that I just feel strongly we should keep these appointments because we could have him evaluated and diagnosed in about 2 weeks due to a cancellation she had. Then we can take that diagnosis to somebody else within his insurance plan for treatment. I just don't think we should wait when we can get an immediate treatment. Am I being unreasonable? His dad's perspective is very logical and I'm not knocking it at all....he tells me he admits and realizes the issues and that Tyler does need to be seen right away, but that we do need to be smart about things financially because he doesn't want to see me suffer financially any more than necessary (he admits the major difference in our incomes). Very good point and smart, but is it unreasonable for me to borrow the money from my mom and take advantage of the appointments we can get immediately? Or since he's in the right mindframe now, should I just work with what he's thinking (because it has ultimately the same result)? Sorry....just a bit confused right now!
Everyone already said my thoughts...I'd always try to negotiate rates with doctors. Sometimes I think the medical community takes advantage of those that have to pay out of pocket because they are getting &*&^??** from the insurance companies.
Other than all that she is doing ok. We had a nice lunch together and I can just ask for more of those times to enjoy.
Take some video and pictures, enjoy all your moments.

This is great news. I think DCA needs the update/change.
Here is another good article that has a lot of details

Very interesting! I've never been.
YEA, my last cruise was Sept 06 and my best cruise until our May cruise together, I'm sure! It's been over a year and it was a rough year so we are really going to relax and enjoy ourselves.
I called DCL today and they told me that NO ONE will be getting on the boat before 1:00pm.....no matter what time you get to the terminal. I'm so bummed....I wanted to be drinking BBCs by the pool by at least 11am. If I'm one of the first to get on, that only gives me 3 hrs. poolside before we have to go to the room and do the drill.....not enough time....really cutting my day short. John has a hot stone massage around 2pm....we better get on before his appointment and he's really getting his poolside time cut short.
Despite all of this, I'm still getting to the terminal at 9am! I'll just meet people and chat until it's time to board!
Don't believe them...I bet you will be able to get on early and have your BBC!
So there's this guy Joe on my halloween thread and he's booked on an Aug 09 repo in a cat 1....I PMd him for the details.....what repo is it and how did he book for 09 already. I want to book for Dec 09 and it's too early still. Then John said, we're cruising Sept 08 and then Dec 09....I know my wife won't wait 15 months without cruising....I know she's going to want to do at least one inbetween!!!!!!!!......what a wonderful DH....he's going to let me cruise at least twice a year! I like that!
I told him we'll see when our geeks cruise in 09 and just jump on that one! I know you guys are doing Jan 08.....I'm doing Sept 08 and that's just too short inbetween so I'll have to miss that one, but I can be on the 09 with you....what's taking you so long to plan it out......HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Are people really booked for 09?
do we even have a lot of children on this cruise? It seems as though most are grown.
I have a lot of kids - 4 of them! They will be 10, 8, 5, and 2 - all boys!
Aye, but I'll be stealing her first....Oct 28 for 4 nights including all Hollows Eve! AAAARRRRRRHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
So jealous of you all heading on cruises, but so happy for you too
I am so not a good loser.
I just want to apologize for all my chatter - but I am very well organized!!! Since the cruise is so far off and excursions and such have not been announced and really, since final payment hasn't hit the mark, it is really kind of hard to make definite plans.
There is a non chatter thread - although, there are no plans in that either.
I love the chatter! I have NO doubt we will have tons of planning once we can plan more!
Never knew that was out there!
The concert was awesome. It was the inaugural event at the Nokia Theatre, which cost $120,000,000 to build. The sound system, jumbotrons, and lighting are all state of the art.
The Dixie Chicks opened with a one hour set. They played several songs from their latest album along with hits from their prior releases. Very solid performance, especially on Not Ready to Make Nice.
The Eagles opened with four songs from their upcoming album, then launched into a "best of" from the band's vast catalog (Hotel California, Peaceful Easy Feeling, One of These Nights, Take It Easy, Desperado, Lyin' Eyes, Life In the Fast Lane, Heartache Tonight, The Long Run, and In the City).
They also performed songs from their solo careers, like Dirty Laundry, Boys of Summer, and Rocky Mountain Way.
The Eagles performed for two hours, and they are at the top of their game.
Woody
Sounds wonderful.
If you guys could spare a couple of prayers for me today, I'd really appreciate it. I lost my wedding band/engagement ring!! I'm so heartbroken and I can't seem to find them anywhere. I don't know what my problem is that I'm always misplacing things. I feel like I've looked everywhere and am running out of ideas.

It's making me physically ill. Just another item of contention in this awful week!
Did you find it? Here's some good thoughts and prayers.
I apologize for lots of chattering, but it's just so much fun getting to know each other before the cruise, it's truly an addiction.
Believe me, more planning talk will start after final payment for the cruise, since then everybody remaining will definitely be coming along.
AGREE!
I'll check it out!
Ok, now I'm late but I feel complete as I'm caught up with my DIS friends! Have a good day everyone, Lisa
