Glad I'm catching up so I can catch all the need for prayers and pixie dust. I hope it doesn't bother anybody that I pray... I know it can be a touchy thing sometimes, if it does, just ignore me. Most people do anyway.:rotfl2: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :upsidedow :grouphug:

I'm always grateful for anyone's prayers for my family.

I don't ask for them because I'm not a religious person and it seems wrong to ask for something I don't do myself.
But perhaps any kind thought for others could be classed as a prayer?

, news today I'm afraid is not good (again) :sad2:

Her doctor called to tell me that the CT showed "something" on her lungs, so we now have a PET scan thursday morning. I sense this means it's a tumor of sorts, as from what I've web read that's what PET scans are for. Regardless of the PET scan outcome she is having the mastecomy as the breast cancer tumor(s) are bad and must be taken care of.

I just worry that if the PET scan shows it's bad and we've all agreed that mom won't have radiation or chemo (quality of life issues) that she has this rotten surgery and feels like crap from it and then dies shortly thereafter, what is the point of the rotten surgery.

Crystal Ball where are you. These are the crappy parts of life.

Nan

I don't know what to say except :grouphug:

Christmas is such a great time to get a puppy for the girls. They will SO love it! Growing up, me and my brother got our first puppy at Christmas....a collie. We loved that dog. Then she had puppies and we had kittens at the same time....so much fun growing up with pets.
 :yay:

Florida may be OK with Christmas, but I can tell you Ohio (with snow, cold, and wet) was no fun raising and housebreaking a puppy). We got Lexi the day after Christmas 2005, and our carpets have never been the same!

John-just wanted to say thanks for posting the link to Randy Pausch's speech. I watched all 100 minutes of it, it was excellent...thank you so much. I was just amazed at how well he conducted himself knowing his fate. I was very impressed. :thumbsup2

I would love to do that, but between work, and the expense (I think it is one of the MOST expensive times to cruise) I don't think we can do it.

I just looked it up and you're right...it's double the price of a regular 7 night cruise. The only way to do it and make it affordable would be to do a 4 night...then you pay the price of the 7 night....but you get to do it.

I can see why work could get in the way too.

V - Remember - Labradoodle!

Another good choice!!!!! Lexi is your Labradoodle right? She's so cute....you should post some more pics of her with Sophia....take some for halloween!:cool1:  :cool1:

ditto, love our Digital Canon Rebel XT (and the SRL rebel we had before it) and I have the pocket version Cannon powershot SD700 IS. I used the pocket one in China the whole time. My pictures are close in quality to what I saw my sister do on her biggie Digital and I had mine in my pocket the whole trip (easy to carry)

I know nothing about cameras.

Except that my DH insisted on spending what I thought was a small fortune of one of those Digital Canon Rebel things when they first came out. And has since refused to ever take it on vacation because he can't be bothered to carry it! :confused3 So all our photos are taken on my little Coolpix.

When we got our first dog, Gandalf....we got a doggy door and he used it immediately. He would love being outside in his pen in the ice and snow....we used to call him weather dog because you could tell what the weather was doing based on when the dog came inside. We have pics (I have to find them) where he was coated in snow and so white that all you could see was his eyes looking out at you. He loved it outside.

Then we got the cat and when she went out she brought back baby mice....nope never let her out again. Then we got Angel and trying to train her without the doggy door ruined our rugs. So we're going to buy a cat proof doggy door that lets the dog out but not the cat. We'll see if this works.:goodvibes :cool2: :goodvibes

While clearing out the stuff from our house I found a note our son wrote to Santa years ago asking for a black Cocker he saw in the pet store. He noted that he would recognize this dog that he had already named Spike, so not to try and fool him with some other dog! :rotfl: :rotfl: Spike did end up in a box in DS's bedroom that night. Thank you Santa!

Yes it would! :)

now I need to send thank you notes.....what to say?

Is it usual to send thank you notes after an interview?

It is just a nice thing to tell them that you appreciate them taking the time to talk to you. Most people do send them.

Not sure it would be looked on favourably to be honest. Just one of those strange cultural things I suppose.

This is definitely a cultural difference. :upsidedow
Over here I think sending a thank you note after an interview would be considered decidedly peculiar.

hey guys, just dropping in to say hi...hope everything is going good for everyone...Holly I feel your pain on the studying. Between Microbiology and Pharmacology (and my other 2 classes) I feel like I'm drowning!

Aw! You can do it! And when you're all done you will miss it. I did. What is your major?

What a great story....now tell me, did you keep the note or throw it out????:happytv: :happytv: :happytv:

Typically I don't get the bug to clean about 10pm so I can totally understand. Not good though since I have to be at work at 7:30 and I have a 40 minutes commute.

The work thing totally interferes with my natural night owl tendencies!!

I usually get to work at 7.30am, having left home at 6.15am.

And I find the work thing interferes far too much with my life in general! :rotfl:

OH I have felt your pain but its worth it in the end to be done! I hated micro but loved pharmacology.Let me know if I can help at all. I have loads of nursing books and some on care plans .
You will have defintly earned this cruise by the end of this semester!

TSB,

My ? was just answered. ;)

Our favourite store has begun using lime green plastic bags(we call them carrier bags) for the food department. Reminds me of the cruises everytime I shop there.

Marilyn

I didn't like these M&S bags until you pointed out the connection with DIS! Now I've had a change of heart.

But I still don't like the orange ones from Sainsburys, far too bright.

It's funny what lime green will do to you!!

I look for it everywhere and if I see someone wear it I automatically think DIS!

I've been meaning to ask this for ages, but why is lime green the DIS colour?
