Taylor had her 5th bday party at Libby Lu and loved it. She did the princess one, of course!

Is it your youngest that had her party there or your older. Your youngest will be 5 on the cruise? My DD turns 5 in a month. There seems to be lots of 5 year olds girls on this cruise...how fun for them on the kids club:goodvibes :cutie: :goodvibes

My youngest is Taylor and she will be 6 on the cruise...she turns 6 in December. There are a few that are in that same age range though!

So she's in Kinder? My DD and DS will be in the kids club together since she'll be 5 and he'll be 7. I'm hoping he won't feel old with the younger kids.:confused3

So for excursions the pretty sure ones so far-

CC-stingrays with Disney figured safe for our little ones ...DH and I did the Grand Cayman sandbar one before and loved it...well DH more than I ...my phobia is the water or I should say sharks, pirana, etc...

the cliff divers seem like a must ...gydell you'll have to give me info on the restaurant. I would love our kids to see that but wouldn't want them to wait forever and then not be able to see...would rather pay more and enjoy it.

other:confused3 yet

We did the CC stingray excursion on our last cruise and loved it. I don't normally go in the ocean above my knees (there are things in there!!) but I actually waded out to about chest high after we were done feeding them. We did the first time of the day (around 10am I think) so I still had plenty of time to lay on the beach and read (under an umbrella of course).

Count me in on the "intimidated" by all the posts list. I post a lot before a cruise, but I just can't keep up. Carry on, though, as I think it will make the cruse more fun if people know each other. If you don't know ME before the cruise, please come up and say hello. There was a lack of that on my last cruise and so it wasn't quite as fun.

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:
:lmao: DIZZNEY D-ANN wants to be your friend:lmao:
:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

you are too funny :lmao: :rotfl2: you will fit in this group just fine. I have on met Jackie and Peg at a mini DIS . I felt intimidated too and the way Peggy Jo put it was just hop on don't worry about catching up all the time. I don't check many times in the day I either check once a day or every other once in a while more depending on what's going on and I'll admit its scary how many pages fly by:scared1: but I think everyone seem to understand. There has been some good info circulating re: cruise but its hard to find inbetween all the pages ...it will get more interesting closer to ressie day! That's going to be a busy time for them that night;) thanks for popping in.

I want to do it all on CC its never long enough last time we did family beach and glassbottom boats but my kids are older and more adventurous now

Let me know if I'm dreaming...do you think we could do you think DH and I could do adult beach eat lunch then meet up with kids go to stingray excursion and then hang a bit at family beach?:confused3 too much...if it was up to me we would venture on bikes as a family too...too much to do there too little time:sad2:

Yes, she started K this fall! I am not sure about the rules, but I have heard of people asking to have their kids moved up or down depending on siblings and maturity....but I have only cruised one time before this, so I am not sure about that.

Good job! I agree with you about Big Brother - haven't seen the end yet but it is good that the Father/Daughter relationship could be saved.

John,

You won't read this until the am, but you may remember that I AM quite a sports fan and I DO know what you are talking about!!

We were at the A's game tonight. No chance for them or the SF Giants, but we enjoyed them loosing again anyway...

Karen
I thought of you at our Sharks event - we might have made a mistake not to take you up on your offer to join you! I bet that was a lot of fun!!

And, they have unrelated names too, so they could just be strangers to each other!!!:rotfl:
Maybe it was met to be that you were going to be the match-maker for these two - are the names boy/girl???
Well I kept to my diet for one day.:cool1: Today is another day.
Diet??? Argg. I'm having just such a hard time. I so wish to be the size I envision, but every day...just eating away. Where is my will power???
We were walking in the grounds of a Tucson hotel - kind of desert like, and a big snake went accross the path in front of us. We stayed well clear, but I don't think it was dangerous. Trouble is we don't know do we?
Kids saw a snake in our yard the other day - about 18 inches, black. How in the world do you know if they are bad? I figure if it doesn't rattle...but still, probably not good.
Can any of you animal / fowl lovers tell me what kind of bird this is? They have many at the Pueblo Bonito Rose
So biggest pressure sale of DH & my life was for a timeshare at the Pueblo Bonito in Matzalan. We ended up giving the down payment on our credit card (about $2000) only to have a complete panic attack that evening. I mean full on panic attack - both of us. Up at 2am, stressing how we would manage the annual fee (of $700 at the time). Stressing how we would come up with the additional cost, I think of $6000 to purchase the entire week. This is pre-kids, about 1995. So anyway, we went to management the next day after signing letting them know of our "remorse" to no avail. It was a great learning experience...found out that credit card purchases outside of U.S. offer NO protection. We had a 12 month fight and in the end had to admit we were out of the $2000 (although we did get out of the additional $6,000 we owed). To this day, I just wonder...for $8,000 maybe it wasn't a bad deal? Who knows. I don't know. The annual fees of $700 were so overwhelming at the time....but then again, if we purchased the timeshare we maybe would have always vacationed there and never experienced DCL!
]If you see a snake in the desert....it's best just to assume it's BAD one!

VENETIA, got the luggage tags...they are SO CUTE and I was surprised at the quality (especially of the strap) for the price. Thanks so much for grabbing these up for your cruise-mates.

.
Ok, did I miss something? Can I pay for some luggage tags? Venetia? Sorry...I was absent (as the posting count shows you) for some time!
you are most welcome! Great to see you gals this morning. I'm still only on page 1835... this may take me a while! :rotfl:

I like Tiffany and QVC for jewlery. In case there is a poll.

We had company last week-end - we met them from a Holy Land cruise on the Princess Cruise lines in 1995. They came with their newly adopted daugther from Russia. Anyway, she works for Tiffany and showed me all her employee purchases. DID YOU KNOW:

Tiffany's will only resell an engagement diamond once - but it will go into another setting that is NOT an engagement ring. If it is returned again, it will be banished, never to be sold again (perhaps some manager gets it??).

DID YOU KNOW:

Tiffany melts down any silver that is returned and remakes the product?

Interesting facts to make us smarter, especially John as I know he dies for this type of knowledge.
Lisa

Nan,

Thanks for the update, I hope that all will go well on Thursday.

Wish we were visiting AG this weekend. I loved our visit to the New York store last year.

DD, Alex, has started "growing out" of her AG interest:(

I have a bunch of clothes and accessories that we will probably put out on Craig's list soon. We might put the horse and carriage out there as well.

Take care!

Karen

I wish for a visit to NY AG before Molly outgrows it, but I can't see that in the next year or so future....let me know what you are putting up on Craig's Miss Molly might just be interested and we can then have that mini meet ala mode with AG Dolls and a glass of chardonay

Nan - how is your mom doing? I'm must trying to catch up and it seems we should have toasted to your mother's health as well. See what I get for being too busy to keep updated on this thread...

Will send a prayer out to her right now.:wizard:

thank you dearie, news today I'm afraid is not good (again) :sad2:

Her doctor called to tell me that the CT showed "something" on her lungs, so we now have a PET scan thursday morning. I sense this means it's a tumor of sorts, as from what I've web read that's what PET scans are for. Regardless of the PET scan outcome she is having the mastecomy as the breast cancer tumor(s) are bad and must be taken care of.

I just worry that if the PET scan shows it's bad and we've all agreed that mom won't have radiation or chemo (quality of life issues) that she has this rotten surgery and feels like crap from it and then dies shortly thereafter, what is the point of the rotten surgery.

Crystal Ball where are you. These are the crappy parts of life.

:cool1: :cool1: Way to go Marilyn.:cheer2: :cheer2:

You are most welcome. I thought the quality was good too. Can't beat the price.

Quote from Deb,
Shopping on my favorite jewelry site and putting things into my wish list. Guess I can't sleep
.

What is your favorite jewelry site? please share.I'm :listen:

Jewelry, are you reading my mind????

I just picked up a bunch of repairs today from my local jeweler.

Funny story...For our Xmas cruise 2005 I wanted a ruby mickey mouse ring as my Xmas gift. Paul found a jeweler to make such a thing...he thought I was crazy. But made me the cutest ruby mickey head ring. I had never been able to find the quality and size I wanted in the parks (or anywhere else)

We cruise...Paul gets me way too much jewelry on the cruise in St. Thomas. (braclette, earrings, pendant slide tanzanite, diamond and fire opals) we get home I try on the earrings they are too tight a fit (pinched my ears)

fast forward today, I take them in to get them adjusted....they are dangergously close to breaking...fast forward I have my earrings being re-figured into dangles and will of course wear this lovely set on our cruise at Palo's dinner for the first time since I got them....2+ years ago :lmao:

ok, I buy jewelry where ever I can get my hands on it. (I worked in a jewerly store for 4 years thru college....oh the days....could buy what I wanted at cost!!! I wish I had my now tastes back then :confused3 )

We like to shop on vacation and make it part of the experience. :dance3:

There are so many on that list who are missing these days. Do you think our chatty thread has frightened them off?

I mean like Seaulater who was so chatty early on, and others. It would be a shame things we organised early on don't get off the ground etc.

I think Seaulater will come back later...ahhhh that was a pun huh? No really, I think she told us she was traveling and will come back closer to the cruise date. that's my story I'm sticking to it!

No place has tea as good as the south!

Better than ENGLISH TEA :scared1: I must come visit and bring my tea loving daughter...oh yeah, we'll visit the new AG Boutique in Atlanta!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Let's see if I talk AG as much as John talks baseball ....or Lisa (calmom) talks shoes...or Holly or V just talk.....okay now I'm on a roll.... :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

The REAS package is not offered on our cruise. Oh well, at least that's one less decision I have to make!

how am I the control freak going to get into my ressies at 105 days????
DRAT!!!!

posting and good night,

p.s. shouldn't those of us who use the multiquote get bonus posts to our score???? Ok I'm just lazy, keep your darn post counts.

I just wonder how much of his behavior came about because of his wife. He said it was NO problem but when he got home it "became" one? Do you think SHE has an issue with it, and he really didn't - until she said something?

I spend all afternoon Friday helping out another co-worker when I could have gone home. I feel great that I could help... and he and I now have a special bond because of it. Makes me feel great!:yay:
I've come to your conclusion.
"what we do with no thought of self or gain, always gives us the most"
:flower3: :flower3:
Love that quote!

I mean like Seaulater who was so chatty early on, and others. It would be a shame things we organised early on don't get off the ground etc.
I think Seaulater is on lots of different cruises right? So I bet she will join us again soon. (I hope!).
I am one that was scared away by all the chatter. I found cruise plans lost in a sea of what seemed like long established personal relationships that I don't feel right intruding on. You all seem like really nice people but I just don't have the time to chatter like that. No offense to anyone.

I check the boards every couple days but do not have the time for pages and pages of chatter so I move on. Though I keep hoping that you will come back to cruise plans and information and I will join in again.

I send :grouphug: to all of you that are going through some pretty heavy stuff right now and you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Don't worry - I missed WEEKS because of work but just am jumping in. Kind of like a pool on a somewhat cold day. It doesn't seem like a good idea but once you get in, you realize it is nicer than the weather outside! (in my vision, it is a heated pool!).
Hi. I think we are in a bit of a quiet time with plans, a sort of in between time. I know what you mean as I would love to be discussing things we could do. We half organised quite a lot of things, then folk began going off on other cruises etc, and it just seemed too far away to complete plans. .... I know the fish extender gift thingy can't move till we know final numbers, though Calmon is open to new people joining the teams.
I will be finalizing the teams after the first of the year --- it was too hard as people were joining and then leaving. If you already have a team, don't worry - it is in place. But if you don't have a team and won't to join, don't worry - one will be in place!
I'm bummed...but I am off to a meeting soon so, hopefully that will keep my mind off things.
Hang in there! Waiting is so hard. Write that thank you letter so you feel like you still have some control over this. And then I guess just let it go...best of luck.
Another one

Beautiful
If you are planning on going to see the cliff divers and not be in the restuarant, then you need to get there early! The 1:00 show will have people lining up at noon. If you are in the 1st couple of rows you can see, if not then all you can really see is the back of someone's head. You can stand next to the railing of the many, many stairs you must climb down and also see them. There are also boats that can take you out to see them. Maybe we can get a large table at the restuarant. All the seats are good from there.
What restaurant??? What is the name??? Thanks!
I have the song from the new iPod commercials stuck in mine . . 1234 . . .
I'm going to get these for my kids...so neat!

I'm Deanna and was on the WB and EB transAtlantic, so I know a few people already. The princess is my daughter, Katey, who won a pageant recently. I tried to take the picture off, but for some reason, it's stuck there. Someone on another thread called me "Queen Mum" for awhile. No french conections--I'm of German and Scottish decent. We live in Chicago. 8 kids, 10 chickens...

Gotta run...

8 kids??? What ages??? I have 4...wow, 8??? I come from a family of 6. Would love more...who knows, maybe I'll be pregnant with one on this cruise (although that would kick me out of the champange girls club!!!). Lisa

They are the best, reminds me of our last trip to DL - when we had our DIS meet and Jackie and I stopped and got their hot dogs wrapped with the pretzel dough... yum-o! Thanks for reminding me...:cutie:

Where in DL is Auntie Anne's?

WE are HUGE? fans!!

From second to fourth in just a mere matter of days . . . V sure has been chatting it up, and just blew right by me!

Yes, well, in case you hadn't noticed...

Each sentence is a new post!!:rolleyes1

But whose counting...:confused3

I have to tell you guys how unbelievable that game was last night. We were losing until the 8th inning, but something about this young Indians team just refuses to give up.

Because we have been such consistent non-champions here in NE Ohio, it is really special when a team starts doing well. The Browns have never been to a Super Bowl, and no championship since 1964. The Indians, while they have had a few trips to the World Series, have not won since 1948, and the Cavaliers have never won a championship.

But there is something really special and American about baseball. The crowd was such a complete family mixture. Young (yes some even brought babies), old, and everyone in between. You may have heard that there are also two nuns who have season tickets to the Indians, and sit right behind home plate. They bake cookies for the players too.

Put that all together with the Indians in their red, white, and blue uniforms, on a perfect summer night, with a playoff atmosphere, and it was just a joy to be there. Once the Indians got back in the game, people were on the edge of their seats or standing and clapping for the entire remainder of the game.

When they won with a Home Run in the 11th, the place just went crazy! The team has a tradition of mobbing the player hitting the home run at home plate, and it was like a big rugby scrum. Whenever we have won, since the Indians resurged in the 90's, they have also played the same song (that I had never heard before), John Mellencamp's "Again Tonight" which is just perfect with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame just a few blocks North.

The Indians really are having fun this year too . . . the other thing the team has done is when they win like this, and the "hero" of the game is being interviewed after the game, someone sneaks up on them and gives them a cream pie in the face. Sounds silly, but it is indicative of the fun these guys are having, and the fun the community is having with the game. They even played a video during the game of all the pie face highlights.

Our fans and our team are so hungry for a championship, that it really brings up the spirits of the whole region when a team like the Indians are doing well. If and when we make the playoffs, everyone around will be wearing their Indians hats, shirts, and ties, and having fun.

Just wanted to share how much fun it is, and you guys out in Arizona are in for a treat when Spring Training moves out there. Even though we get criticized for the "non-politically correct" mascot, no one here thinks that way of the team or the pride of the native Americans (Indians) the team is named for.

If you saw the movie Major League, you get just a brief idea and sample of what life is like here for a baseball fan in Northeast Ohio.

Now back to your regular DIS channel . . .

John,

Love the "slice of Americana" and "Spirit of the Game!!" It is just Magic when there is that love of baseball!!

I grew up with that at the Stick. We didn't have a winning ball club, but we has some great players and lots of team spirit. I don't remember a "cold" day there... even thought that's what it is known for!!

Go Tribe!!

Karen

Lots of positive thoughts and pixiedust: coming your way!! We'll keep our fingers crossed!!

Jewelry, are you reading my mind????
We like to shop on vacation and make it part of the experience. :dance3:

Right there with you!!! Love jewelry too!! Our last cruise was a gold Mickey head that swings from my Omega chain as well as an amazing slider of Tanzanite and Opal from Curacua for our anniversary!

Our new shop is next door to a great jewelry store!! They did an amazing job on my repairs too! I plan on taking some of my loose stones from prior DCL cruises to her too for custom settings... when I can afford it!!
