This is fantastic news for us DVC members on this side of the country. From our house, it's only a 4 hour drive. Perhaps we will need even more points!
Good morning Miss B- indeed the trip down to Cabo got me pumped for this cruise because of all the stops in Mexico. I love the ocean and being around it brings me such peace! In response to your being on CC - I am sure your kids would love the kids beach and you and your DH could enjoy the adult beach for a bit. It's nice to hear from youDS is much better and had his first full-day of school today. LOVED the pictures from Cabo....makes me want to be there now
I wish I was toasting with you guys last night...I've actually never been to the Keg I've been everywhere else in Desert Ridge but not there. My DH makes the BEST steaks on the grill and I never order steaks at restaurants no matter how nice of a restaurant because I'm always disappointed and want the ones he cooks. I'm glad your settled in your new office. I bet going to Cabo is pumping you up for this trip.
I tell you that sunset makes me wish I was there now

Good stuff to know. Do you suppose they don't re-sell engagement rings because of the "karma"? Maybe a stupid question, but I know there are stories about the energy around a ring once it's given? So biggest pressure sale of DH & my life was for a timeshare at the Pueblo Bonito in Matzalan. We ended up giving the down payment on our credit card (about $2000) only to have a complete panic attack that evening. I mean full on panic attack - both of us. Up at 2am, stressing how we would manage the annual fee (of $700 at the time). Stressing how we would come up with the additional cost, I think of $6000 to purchase the entire week. This is pre-kids, about 1995. So anyway, we went to management the next day after signing letting them know of our "remorse" to no avail. It was a great learning experience...found out that credit card purchases outside of U.S. offer NO protection. We had a 12 month fight and in the end had to admit we were out of the $2000 (although we did get out of the additional $6,000 we owed). To this day, I just wonder...for $8,000 maybe it wasn't a bad deal? Who knows. I don't know. The annual fees of $700 were so overwhelming at the time....but then again, if we purchased the timeshare we maybe would have always vacationed there and never experienced DCL!
I've gone round and round about time shares. We just don't appear to be the type of people who go to the same place year after year and we've run into folks who just don't get the "swap" or "trade" they would like if they get into the trading scenariou. However... MARRIOTT sounds like a lovely idea, expensive but you know they have hotels (and various star levels) in each of the locations I've ever wanted to go, or ever want to go.
We had company last week-end - we met them from a Holy Land cruise on the Princess Cruise lines in 1995. They came with their newly adopted daugther from Russia. Anyway, she works for Tiffany and showed me all her employee purchases. DID YOU KNOW:
Tiffany's will only resell an engagement diamond once - but it will go into another setting that is NOT an engagement ring. If it is returned again, it will be banished, never to be sold again (perhaps some manager gets it??).
DID YOU KNOW:
Tiffany melts down any silver that is returned and remakes the product? That means that it's pure silver... because someone told me once that in order to melt down jewelry it has to be very very pure in content. Most gold has levels of other metals... this is what I was told once... not sure how true it is.
Interesting facts to make us smarter, especially John as I know he dies for this type of knowledge.

I'm sorry Karen - I should have been more clear, we hit the Auntie Anne's at the outlet mall in Palm Springs!!!! Sorry....Where in DL is Auntie Anne's?
WE are HUGE? fans!! Karen

Okie dokie - off to walk the dogs. I am really enjoying the fact that the morning and evening weather has broken and it's beginning to cool off at those times. When I walked the dogs at 6 a.m. yesterday my black and tan min pin looked at me like "you aren't pulling my leg - right? We REALLY are going out for a walk???" Gotta keep moving and get ready for that SEGWAY tour planned in WDW this December!
