DL's Halloween party is called Mickey's Halloween Treat. And while it is nice it is no MNSSHP. There is no parade or fireworks. Each year they have expanded it though so it is getting better.

We are going on Oct 5 with my sister and niece who are coming to visit from NC.

What week will you be at DL?

Agree that last year was a little better, more stops=more candy! However, we won't be going this year because we take our niece and nephew, an they dont offer any weekend dates this year.:sad2: Bummer! We tried a Friday, which meant taking the kids out of school, which they didnt mind. But good thing we left really early because it took us almost 5 hours to get there from Santa Barbara which takes 1and a 1/2 to 2 hours on the weekend. Kids were not happy with that ride! Not to mention that Disney did their usual price jacking this year!Is fun tho!:thumbsup2

I thought the exact same thing as Deb. I wondered how in the world 34 would be considered too old. :rotfl2: Heck, even I'm older than that! :rotfl:

You both must have seen the word "old" between Year and Teacher. What if I had said "10 year teacher"? :lmao:

And . . . I am a good bit older than that ! :rotfl:

Deb, you're back! I'm so glad you're well enough to be posting again!

I haven't had time to catch up with everyone yet... so I'll try to do that now.

Good night everyone!

Monday is just around the corner, and I need to get to bed!:sad2:

I just asked her . . . she was not the Disney freak I was when she was growing up. She says she did not even realize there was a Disneyland. They went on vacation to "educational' places like Washington - go figure!

I NEVER could get there as a kid, but my FAVORITE shows on the WWOD were the ones where they visited the park, or when Walt talked about plans for the future. I used to DREAM about going to DL, but we could never afford to go there growing up. I literally had goosebumps the first time at WDW as a young adult when I walked into the MK - and I still do to this day.

I cannot imagine not having grown up with the Mouse...what about the mouseketeers club? ....how could you not grow up with Walt every Sun night on black and white.....???? WOW that's freeky, deeky....to me!

I LOVE It TOO....every time I see the mouse anywhere....boat, park, etc...I go nuts! Tell Amy she has a lot of catching up to do!!!!!!:dance3:  :dance3:

II am sure there will be a whole group of us from the cruise hanging around together - feel free to help us out! I am sure Angie and Dennis will enjoy showing us around too!

We are SO looking forward to sharing the place we love with good friends. It is so much fun to share it. One of our most fun trips was with the band kids, many of whom had not been to DL.

Deb, I too am very glad to see that you are feeling well enough to join in again. We have had you in our prayers also.:grouphug:

Deb,

Not sure you REALLY know what I meant . . . by 34 year teacher, I meant she has been TEACHING for 34 years . . . She is in her mid to late 50's - and probably near retirement. No, 34 years old would be YOUNG to us!

OK I feel better now....I GET it!!!!
:rotfl2:  :rotfl2:

GinaMarie and Angie, so nice to be posting again and almost normal....except for the fact that I'm still in the hospital....I am doing much better...Thanks!!! For all your prayers and well wishes!!!!! :grouphug:

A few weeks ago one of our cruise members came on and said she was going to have an operation on a brain tumour, and further treatment to a couple of others. I keep wondering about her, and sorry I can't remember who it is.

Anyone know?

.....since we've been inside all day boxing up old stuff. We have TWO boxes now to post for sale! So much stuff is boxed up that it looks like we cleaned the living room, but really didn't! :rotfl: I sure hope stuff sells because if it doesn't, I'll have to try to do a garage sale. I've never done one in my whole life! :headache:

Get some friends and do it together at the home of someone who has a lot of local street traffic, or in the school parking lot, or as a school fundraiser, or donate them to a homeless shelter.

I am convinced there is a sock fairy who is in charge of taking one sock per load!!

There is a planet where the aliens have only one foot so they send their space ships to earth and steal only one sock while we are sleeping. They like variety so no two aliens want matching sox.

Twas the Nightmare before Halloween!!!!! But it's real...YUCK! I can't wait to go back home....should I click my heals three times???:hippie:  :hippie:

I hope you can become the poster child for FOLLOWING DOCTOR'S ORDERS!!
Hang in there girl. Sometime we will discuss scars! I have a humdinger on my right knee.

Jan :earsgirl:

Sorry, when you're right, you're right...what is your excuse? At least I have a good one!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Well, sometimes I'm SO scatterbrained, people often tell me they can't believe I survived this long! :rotfl:

We usually do donate most of Tyler's old stuff or pass it on to my friend for her youngest son. Or post it on freecycle. But Tyler is really trying to make money to save for a cruise, so I'm just trying to help him get started. :thumbsup2 He actually asked me if we could sell some of his old stuff so he could start saving money. I'm thrilled at the idea because it helps eliminate clutter. :yay:

DEB_  So glad to see you better!

HOlly - Sounds like an amazing weekend!

Well we got Hannah Montana concert tickets so the Sat after Thanksgiving I will be there!!!!

DH is going out of town the last weekend of Sept. to Boca Rotan FL and was all happy. Until my mom said she might be going to WDW that weekend and asked if I wanted to join her!!:rotfl:

We will also be going to DL after we get off the ship. DH's first time.

Lisa- your poor exchange student! The weather wasn’t even that bad in NYC last night.

Peggy- your DH was on Long Island? Islip airport is only about 15 minutes from my house.

John- it’s funny, I’ve never had terrible delays out of JFK except for one time when it was terribly foggy outside. We’re flying out of Islip this October though. I’ve never flown out of LaGuardia, though we used to live VERY near that airport.

Holly- the fireworks sounded really cool. Your Labor Day plans sound great.

OMG you guys are posting so fast! I got in from the bachelorette party at like 3:30 am, so I slept in while DH took Olivia to MIL’s house for the day. Thank goodness!
My family got back from Michigan this afternoon, so we went for a visit/dinner. I missed them!

Good for you getting the Hannah Montana tickets!!
They're a HOT item around here.

I was shocked to see the $39 ticket price this year. Thought for sure that meant a parade or fireworks were being added but they aren't from the list of activities I've seen. At least APs were able to buy tickets for $24 before Aug 1 or we wouldn't be going.

(More candy is a always a plus though :thumbsup2 )

LOL! Along that train of thought, well sort of! I think it was George Carlin who had a bit that said something along these lines...... " When we die and go to heaven, all those socks missing from the dryer, lost ciggarette lighters etc, will all be waiting for us in our own little personal "piles"!" Man, I've got a HUGE pile to look forward to!:rotfl2:

Even tho were APs, I still thought it was a bit pricey compared to the first year when they were only like 15 or 16 bucks I think! Oh well, being on the "cruise diet", we don't need all that candy anyhows!:scared:
