Holly - any word from Tyler (and or his Dad)??? Not sure how close they live to you. Hope he wasn't scared!

Jackie - other Marian Keyes books I liked were, Lucy Sullivan is Getting Married, Sushi for Beginners and Watermelon.

I read the Lucy Sullivan one (I think....you know they all become a blur sometimes).

PEG---YOU STILL ON???? WANT STEAK for dinner???????

Just awful :sad2: I had wondered whether people who live where hurricanes happen just get immune to the fear. Must be very difficult to deal with each hurricane season.

you know, I worked PT (along with my reg job) at Home Depot for two years, when Charlie was supposed to hit Tampa we were handing out tickets to buy plywood. Employees were able to secure some for themsleves and everyone got 5 sheets a pc. Wow, when the end of the line came the tension rose and people were pissed that they couldn't get any. It was a pretty sacry realization that you just need to have the necessary materials at all times.

Luckily almost all the new homes here are being built with all electric underground....we are not!

Jackie,
Little Bitty Lies by Mary Kaye Andrews I liked as well, it wasn't too indepth but I enjoyed it.
I really liked Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons by Dan Brown.

His dad lives a mile down the road from me. Literally off the same road! No, I haven't heard anything, but I'm sure he wasn't scared because they would have been in the basement where he couldn't see or hear any of the storm and they would have been playing down there probably. It's a finished basement that's basically a playroom. :thumbsup2 And his dad picked him up from day care way before the storms came, so they would already have been safe at home for about 45 minutes before the bad stuff rolled through. And I know if Tyler had been really scared, he would have demanded to talk to me, so his dad would have called me (Tyler's quite persistent). ;)

I liked both of those Dan Brown books too. :thumbsup2 Liked Angels & Demons better than Da Vinci Code though.

Well, I'm outta here! Pam & I are headed to the 8:00 show instead of our original plan of the 10:30 show because the football game she was supposed to volunteer at tonight was cancelled. :yay: I like the 8:00 show better because it's the non-smoking one. :woohoo:

Have a great evening everybody!

I enjoyed Dan Brown's other two books too (can't recall titles...senior moment). I'll look for the Mary Kaye Andrews one.

Well, when I came to work this morning, I was sure I wouldn't make it all day, but I'm not feeling too awful right now. Guess I must be getting better!

I had a nice package when I got home, I ordered - or won - off Ebay shell necklaces and bracelets for the gilrs which have a castaway cay bead on them. John asked where his necklace was!

to tell you the truth I am swayed by book covers...I can mail you that book if you want, I think I have read it enough times!

Haley did great on the potty training this week! I have to admit, I am a horrible parent, I hate those potty's you have to clean out, so big girl potty it is! Luckily the school has the miniature potty's.

I like Dan Brown too, but I don't think I've read Mary Kaye Andrews stuff - will have to check her out.

I have a bunch of books I could SHIP to the MAGIC for the Cove Cafe - I'm always giving Jackie books to take to her workplace - they do an exchange in their kitchen. Maybe I'll start this when we move to our new building (soon I hope) that would be a nice thing. One of the officers of the company gave me that book about the kids that fly - sorry cannot remember the name of it. They were hybrid birds... does anyone know what I'm talking about.???:rolleyes1
