The house....here are some recent pics (I spared everyone the yucky ones with all the flies around :lmao: :rotfl2: :scared1: )
And my favorite picture...this is the night that we got the house. We were eating dinner and noticed a rainbow so Scott and I ran out to get a picture...

That picture is so awesome, it deserves posting again!

You guys all look so Happy! Congratulations!

Extremely tired here too after the events of last night/early this morning . . .

We learned a very valuable lesson last night as parents. Don't let your little ones dance on your 10" high living room coffee table!

I hope she gets better soon! I can just imagine that happening, as Sophia loves to climb on and dance on things too.

You may not know it, but this is how Angie got her start (although she had a little Tequilla to help).

Today Alex got confirmation of his financial aid for medical school . . . they budget out the year for them, and then they find them the combination of loans and grants that they need to meet the budget. He already has the place rented he is sharing with two other students, and now we are getting him a new vehicle because a car is a necessity for this school.

I am thankful that he is going into something that will repay those loans - otherwise I would definitely be :scared1: !

See what I get for trying to post quick at work??? :lmao: :thumbsup2 :rotfl2: :rotfl: Thanks for the laugh!

Hey when can we come up and visit you????

When do you want to come????;)

Are you thinking weekend? If so, I've got stuff going on until Aug. 11. During the week I'm more open--

It was in the low 80's today...:cloud9:

is anyone else dragging today? I am soooo tired.
I sure am! I was up at school trying to study for a couple hours before picking Tyler up from day care and was falling asleep at my computer.

Thanks John. I look at it next week when I get back home! I am off tomorrow and heading to CT for the weekend with Scott for my HS reunion...19 years! I know, a strange year, but I lived in a very small town with about 50 kids per graduating class so we don't do reunions often. This is actually a reunion for years 1986-1992. It should be fun as I haven't seen anyone since I graduated in 88. I ran away from there:lmao: Not really but definately wanted to get away from small towns...of course, I ended up in a small town on the other side of the country, go figure!
Have fun at your reunion! I graduated in 1988 too! :thumbsup2

Yes! I'm blaming it on being in Phoenix the last two days and not getting a good night's sleep Mon. night--sharing a bed with my nephew (his half is the middle!) in a house that felt HOT to me! Hoping to be back to normal tomorrow...

Although there is still a ton of work to be done, it is getting closer and closer to our dream home. It was a long 10 months of waiting but I think it will be worth it:thumbsup2

What a beautiful home and beautiful location! The rainbow picture says it all... you've found your pot of gold!

Kaylee: What awesome pics of your house! It's so beautiful! Waking up to the view from your bedroom will feel like a bit of heaven every morning. And what an incredible rainbow shot!

Leslie: Poor Kayla's arm! Don't worry, kids bounce back quickly and usually aren't bothered by pain very much. She'll do fine once her cast is on.

:lmao: :rotfl: I can always count on my friends to tell tales!! I did not break anything though....well, except maybe the stem of the rose clenched between my teeth and maybe a couple of hearts! ;) :lmao: :lmao:

Yes, no tequilla tasting for Angie, well at least if there are tables around. ;)

Katlee, your house looks just beautiful and you all so look so happy to be there. What views too!

We learned a very valuable lesson last night as parents. Don't let your little ones dance on your 10" high living room coffee table!

Our "baby" Kayla (pictured below), lost her balance and fell the very short distance from the table to the carpeted floor and broke her tiny left arm last night. Never before have we felt so awful. It truly was crushing to see her in so much pain. She handled it like a champ, but we were shattered. Her main concern at the hospital was to still be able to participate in a fashion show she was "hired" to be in on Friday. Of course her Dad happens to be employed by the company (starts with an "N") putting it on - so it shouldn't be a problem. But through it all, that is all she was worried about.

She sees the orthopedic surgeon tomorrow morning. Her wish now is a Minnie Mouse cast (or a pink one)!

Poor Kayla. Hope she gets her pink/Minnie cast.

I'm so sorry she got hurt; it's so hard to see your baby get hurt! Glad that she will still be able to do the fashion show! She is SO photogenic!

I was so worried that I couldn't catch up the last couple of nights tonight... but no worries, it's quite on the DIS.

We saw Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix tonight!!:wizard:

LOVED IT!!

We are huge fans and have read the books, listened to the books on tape and did a HP marathon this week with the last 4 movies to get ready for seeing the new one tonight!

It was such a chock-full book, I was concerned that they would have to cut too much out, but they did a really good job.:thumbsup2

Looking forward to the book release next Friday at midnight!! DD and I are listening to book 6 to get ready for the final book!!

Have a great Thursday everyone!:hippie:

I'm off to bed!

Karen

PJ, thanks for the HandBreak suggestion. I got it and have been converting movies--so much fun!!!:3dglasses :woohoo:

HI EVERYBODY!

Yep, would pretty much have to be the weekend...I think Peg's out of vacation days! I'll be in Breckenridge the 18th, so we'll have to look for after that (and avoid Labor Day I would think, though I have no specific plans for then). We'll talk soon!

Think I'm going to wait a couple of weeks for Harry Potter....maybe refresh my memory with a skim through the book. I still have to see Shrek the Third and Rat yet!

Good Morning everyone!!

Happy Thursday! DH starts his playoffs tonight and tomorrow we leave for Disney for the weekend! I can't wait, it's going to be a hot one though.

We seem to be pretty quiet lately. I guess everyone is busy!!

I'm missing all the chit chat and plans, but no doubt it will all start up again after the summer. I hope so anyway.

Im hope you have a lovely time at Disney. It must be great to be able to pop there so easily.

Hope your husband does well in his playoffs and you guys have a blast at Disney!!

I am getting ready to take GK's to Lake Almanor for two weeks starting on Friday. The kids and I will fly to Reno and rent an Escalade to drive the two hours from Reno to the lake. We have lots of plans for going out on the boat, fishing, wake boarding, tubing, water skiing, bike riding, playing tennis, golfing, windsurfing, attending all the band shell concerts and kids lessons and activities. I will be a very busy Grandmother.

The rest of the news is both good and not SO good. My surgery is scheduled for September 17 as I have not had another attack and want the rest of the summer to help my family.

On the flip side, DD Jennifer's DH Pete probably has lupus nephritis based on the biopsy. Lupus nephritis is one complication of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE ). It is related to the autoimmune process of lupus, where the immune system produces antibodies (antinuclear antibody and others) against body components. Complexes of these antibodies and complement accumulate in the kidneys and result in an inflammatory response.

She and DH need a break from the kids as he needs to go on a cytotoxic drug which typically is used for cancer patients. Cytotoxic (cyto=cell, toxic=damage) drugs work by targeting and damaging cells that grow at a rapid rate. In autoimmune diseases and vasculitis the immune system is hyperactive and produces autoantibodies at a rapid rate of growth. Cytotoxic medicines have their greatest effect against rapidly dividing cells and, therefore, can be beneficial by suppressing the cells involved in the hyperactive immune response. The effect is a reduction in disease activity. There are risks associated with the use of cytotoxic drugs. The immune system may be suppressed too much and cause in increased susceptibility to infections such as shingles and pneumonia. The bone marrow may be suppressed and result in reductions in red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. Suppression of hair cell growth may lead to a net loss of hair. The cytotoxic effects on gonadal cells may lead to sterility. Drugs to reverse the toxic effects on the blood and immune system can be given if needed.

On top of that, Pete's mother was hospitalized and had surgery yesterday for a tumor in her abdomen. They will not know for 4-5 days if it is cancerous. Pete can not be anywhere near a hospital or sick people, so Jen spent the day at the hospital, getting home about 8 PM. Pete is the "rock" of the family so his brothers are not stepping up to the plate causing family anxiety. Elizabeth is divorced, not financially capable of taking care or herself if she has developed a life threatening illness.

With DH and I taking kids away from this drama, it will allow both of them to deal better with the situation. The younger kids are not really aware of much but my almost 13 year old GD is pretty aware something is going on with her dad. None of the kids know anything yet about Elizabeth.

Please pray for both Pete and his mother Elizabeth that all will go well. I will check in as time allows.

Noel

Noel, that is a whole lot of problems. I will be praying for Pete and his mother, also that you have a pain free summer.

Have a great trip with the grandchildren - sounds like you enjoy it too.
