Hi all,

I was one of the pilots on the MAGIC's inaugural transit through the Panama Canal when she was repositioned from FL to CA in May of 2005. Just wanted to say hello and assure you what you already know... you'll have an awesome time!!! Just make sure you don't miss a single detail of your Panama Canal transit... from crossing the breakwater on the Atlantic side (Cristobal) until you go under the Bridge of the Americas on the Pacific side (Balboa) it's all a once in a lifetime experience:cloud9:

Back in May I had a once in a lifetime opportunity as well... I spent the transit (at times when we were not in the locks) with a group of DIS'ers at Kelli's huge balcony back on the stern. We had lots of fun:dance3:

You probably know this by now, but anyway, here's the link to the Panama Canal web cam http://www.pancanal.com/eng/photo/camera-java.html
This link will come in handy the day you transit the Canal.

Thanks to Sandy (figment52) for showing me the way to this thread, and hope to see you all soon at the Panama Canal.

Thank you for Posting on our thread!

Hopefully we will get to meet you too!

Hope so John... I'll see if I can convince my boss to let me be one of the pilots on the Magic next year.

I hope so! I watched the first crossing on the web cam and was so excited that a DISer got to pilot the ship. That was very awesome!

Hey, John, I know my DH (Chuck) would be a great addition to the Lost Beer Boys! He's been one all his life! And he has lots of practice! :drinking1

Alavro, I read your posting last year and can't wait to experience the crosing next year.

Ok, Guys has anyone see this custom shirt company, http://www.bluecotton.com/ I have been having a blast in the design studio. I did a design with the mickey head with a pirate ship inside, simple and cute, might pass. http://www.bluecotton.com/design.html?loaddesign=true&designcode=2186:624:532-57 , click on open. I wonder if it would pass, hmmm.......

Only issue is that the shirts would have to be ordered in a min of 6 units per order.

Thanks for posting the webcam - I'm going to share it with friends and family for our crossing next year! That will be very cool! Wonder if you can see folks on the deck?

You must have been so amazed being able to captain the ship thru the locks... Good for you! How on earth does somebody get so lucky?:cloud9:

Hey there Peggy Jo! Hangin' in there I hope:goodvibes Now that i think about it you did post that you had seen that video. As for BillyHill, I can just picture him "picking" on you!:lmao: Those guys are a riot!

Thanks Bubba - I'm doing so much better now - thanks everyone! I had a couple of cocktails with my gal pals last night and tried a "Flirtini". YUMM-O! As Rachel Ray would say. A few of those and I felt like a new gal!

We did have a riot with Billy that day - I laughed so hard my cheeks hurt. I told Miss Cheri (notsolittlemermaid) and Sis Jackie (Ibouncetoo) we SHOULD NOT sit in the front row. It was his "look" that did it, when he raises that one eyebrow - OH MY GOSH - how funny. Then those fake teeth - holy smokes, I couldn't contain my laughter. Cheri has it on video too!

Speaking of Miss Cheri - when are we going to Prescott it's HOT HOT HOT down here!:yay:

We were on the EB repo in 2005 and it truly was an experience of a lifetime!! Truly a Magical Day! We had a great party on the deck of another Cat 3 family and it was very fun.

Hope you can "Captain" the ship again!

PJ!!!! OMG, those are so cute. Maybe several of us that live near each other could order together to avoid the 6 minimum problem....like Brooklyn (Stephanie) and I live in the same town so we could combine our order. It looks just GREAT!!!! Do they have other tshirt options or is it just the one style? I didn't want to mess around in there and mess anything up.

Lisa, it looks like you have to do a 6 order of the same shirt, colour and design, but can have different sizes (youth xs -> adult xxl). But that design could be put on any shirt/colour they offer.

That can be worked with, I'm sure as long as we can get youth to adult sizes. The design is just awesome! The women's shirt styles sure are cute though....guess my DH wouldn't want to wear one of those! :rotfl: I'm assuming that design can't be used anywhere other than blue cotton?

lisa, I could make it in photoshop and then anyone can use it at home. I don't know if this design would even pass on Blue Cotton, due to the Mickey head, but we could try. I know it would never pass at CafePress.

PJ...those shirts look great! I agree Lisa, some of those ladies styles are really cute. I bet we could combine orders and make the 6 minimum pretty easily.

:yay: Ooooooh! Love it! I want one!

Wouldn't it be ok because it's a slightly different shape and proportion of ear size to head size as the real Mickey? Or do I just sound absolutely nuts? ;)
