Now if only I had some (ANY) musical talent . . .

I tried - took piano lessons once, guitar lessons . . . found out now that my best instrument is the iPod.

THIS IS ANGIE POSTING UNDER DrHug's access. DUH!!
Me too! I can do IPod pretty well though, I think. Dennis just :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: when I am doing all 4 parts with the Statler Brothers. :confused3 Now I think I do it quite well, but he :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl: :sad2: :sad2: and tells me to be sure and NOT do that in public! ;)

John-that's really special! Your dad must have been very proud, I'm happy for him!!!

Guess we all have lots in common-I'm an only child and I worked my way through college too. I lived at home with my mom and was able to work part time. I still managed to have a lot of fun and do the sorority thing but I did work very hard at the same time. I do remember not be able to attend many things because I had to work...but when I was able, I did have FUN. :cool1:

G-I know what you're saying about the "good ole boys" club. I worked with the US Navy for 12 years during my aerospace contract management days. Talk about the good ole boys club! Most times I was the only woman in the room of about 100 men, not sure how I made it but I did. It was tough but it wasn't all bad...there were funny times too. I'll NEVER forget the time I was in the middle of a negotiation for a multi-year, multi-million dollar contract for spare parts for the flight control system on the F/A-18 fighter jet. I had a new dress on that buttoned up the front and the buttons were metal. I was unhappy with an offer they gave me and I took a very deep breath. Well, one of the buttons popped off, shot across the room and smacked the negotiator in the FACE! :scared1: But worse, my chest and, ahem, undergarment were exposed (fortunately, it was back in my skinny days, so hopefully it wasn't too awful). I thought I was going to die. I then uncrossed my legs and the bottom button did the same thing!! What I later learned was the metal buttons had very rough edges and with every breath and movement I made, they were slowly breaking the thread that was holding them on the dress. I was moments away from having ALL the buttons popping off. Needless to say, I did the rest of the negotiation wrapped up in my raincoat but it was clear the Navy negotiators had sorta lost focus! That was perhaps my most embarassing (and funny) moment!

Lisa- I'm sorry but that story did make me laugh!
I had something similar happen. I was giving a speech in front of a room of people, not knowing that my front fastening bra was slowly UNfastening. In the middle of the presentation it POPPED and shot to my underarms. All the people sitting up front knew exactly what happened. I must have been 100 shades of red!

WOOHOO! But the only bad part of that picture was seeing everybody in swimsuits.....made me shiver because it was so cold here today! It only got up to 59 degrees and tonight it will get down to the low 30s. I just now turned the heat back on. BRRRR!!

I was thinking the same thing when I saw those pictures, but my brain kept overwriting that with "in a year YOU (ME) wll be on that ship!!!":cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: and that is the thought I kept focusing on.

I have got to get busy though because I'll be meeting it in Barcelona IN TWO WEEKS :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: and I'm not ready yet -

See you all next year.

OK....somebody on my other meet thread just posted a question that will help the newbies here understand our obsession a bit more. :rotfl2: Here goes: At what point do you have the best feeling on the ship and at what point do you have the worst? For many people it would be stepping on the ship and getting off at the end. Anything more specific?

Here's mine -- Best feeling onboard: every chance I get to sit on the balcony when out in the middle of the ocean, just watching the water go by, and hearing that splashing sound against the side of the ship. Worst feeling: hearing my alarm wake me up the morning we get off the ship.

How exciting! You can almost start counting down the hours! :thumbsup2 Have fun getting ready and I can't wait to hear all about it when you return!

Yummy! I'm looking forward to my traditional Disneyland chocolate covered strawberries...THIS year they will be enjoyed with a bottle of Banfi and shared with Cheri! :thumbsup2

I love the chocolate covered strawberries at DL. As soon as I get off the Winnie-the-Pooh ride we head for them. I then sit an eat it while watching the people getting their pictures taken with Pooh and Friends. - I'll be doing just this next Sunday morning!

That was a FUN game to watch. I bet they had a BLAST. Did they have their yellow shirts on?

Yes. They keep telling us to look for the couple in the yellow shirts. Did you hear how that all "I believe" got started? That was a neat story. Lisa

That's a dream of mine too! Then DH reminds me how much money I spent (and keep paying in student loans) to GET that law degree. *sigh*

Probably pretty obvious that a lot of us that go into law like language, and like to write. I keep having all these ideas, but I just can't get motivated enough to start the process and get it going.
