Have you considered visiting northern Arizona (that's where I live)? It's much cooler and there's lots to see--Sedona red rocks, Grand Canyon, Painted Desert, Meteor Crater. The elevation is 4000-8000' so it's not the desert w/Saguaro cactus, but it's beautiful in its own way.

Yes...Very beautiful. I love Sedona.

wow - a quiet day in here!!

Finally Friday and a few more hours until I go into vacation mode!
Yeah!!

So, tonight is pizza and game night - and I'll be cleaning and packing. Tomorrow is pack up the car and finish everything else day....WHOO HOOO!

Hi V,

Didn't you just have a vacation last week?:rotfl: :rotfl:

I am trying to catch up with everything, but am about 4 months behind.:sad2:
Give John a big howdy. I hear the grapes are doing well. AWESOME. How long until WINE???

Yes...Very beautiful. I love Sedona.

AND I love that I can drive up there for lunch if I want to!
I haven't been up for quite a while...here's a photo from my last trip
(have I posted this already????)

What college friends?:confused3

Amy loves to sleep in too. She loves to take naps. Drives me cuckoo some times. In the back of my mind is always the feeling that I have only so many minutes on planet Earth, and I don't want to spend the majority of them sleeping. I felt differently when I was younger, now I feel the sand is running out of the glass too quickly.

Augh! Don't remind me John. You sure know how to hurt an OLD guy!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :hourglass YIKES!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: .

I think I just had a panic attack...:rotfl2:

No, you hadn't posted that yet. SO PRETTY!

I should explain about college . . .

I went to what was then mostly a commuter school. I drove to school daily, and worked daily. Not much time for friends. It is a part of my life I regret some times. I got a great education but almost zero college experience. I did the same thing for law school, at the same school.

Unfortunately, I did not have much choice. I had to work my way through school if I wanted to get a degree.

Same here John. It isn't easy when you wear Three Hats. Full time school, full time job, full time family. ( Whew. I am exhausted again ). 7 years of 5 hour a night sleep. No wonder I am so decrepit. :rotfl2: And I'm only 29.

Beautiful!!!!! Would make a great postcard.

I was also the oldest in my family, and the first to go to college . . . I had no one to mentor me, or be a role model for what I was doing.

At the time to me it was normal - only now do I know what I missed.

Of course, that is why I can now retire from this job with 30 years too . . .

John, We have yet more in common. Amazing! I still remember the e-mail.

I don't know where it will lead, it may lead nowhere - but I have had a very positive change of attitude since I decided to at least test the waters. I was feeling very trapped, and in some ways I don't think was giving myself enough credit for what my potential could be.

The last two years in my current job have been very draining, and difficult. At the same time because of reductions, while I once had two people working with me, I am now a one man show, and it is starting to effect my health, sanity, and time with my family - which is my biggest concern.

What I really want to do is write, but, I think some other field of law is safer with a kid going to med school and another one in first grade.

With my luck, I will land some job that will not allow me to take two weeks off next May!:scared1:

John, How about Pharmacy Law? I know there are few Lawyers specializing in that area. Seems like it would be a good specialty area right now. We are regulated to death.

Gosh, I guess you missed out on some things like a frat party or two but I just think of all that you gained! What a hard road it must have been. And all that you accomplished! I am sure there are many people out there that got the college experience but didn't apply themselves...they would most likely trade places with you in a heart beat! Also, trust me...there are plenty of those parties I just a soon forget!
I imagine you have many people proud of you.
Lisa

I was trying to figure out how I thought about this and you said it just perfectly.

Life is always give and take.

Man, late night TV . . .

The bionic woman is on TV selling sleep number beds . . .

I used to think she was something when I was a kid watching that show. Now she is selling beds on late night TV.:sad2:

Did Angie ever tell you about camping with her? I don't think she got to talk to her much, if at all, but she spent a week with the Yakama Indians at their Sacred Grounds on Mt Adams, in Washington, at what was called Camp Chaparral. Lindsey was there with her husband, a Souix Indian, who was one of the 'guides', or counselers. Angie said she didn't look any better than her when they got up in the morning. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I spent a week there a couple of years before Angie, and I encouraged her to go if she had the chance. It was by special invitation, so was something that not just anyone can do. We were very fortunate to be able to go. During the week, we had 4 sweat lodges going, a special veteran's pow wow, a medicine wheel, and the most amazing thing of all, a 7 Drum Ceremony. WOW! Indescribable, and very rare event. Very Spiritual. It was truly one of the best weeks in my life. I was treated as one of the Warriors, and very much honored by the tribe. It was a great honor for me to have been associated with the Yakama Tribe.

June 8th a Greek orthodox church here is having "A Taste of Greece" Dinner. After listening to you all talk about Greek food here last night and today, I'm going to have to try really hard to swing by there before class that night! :thumbsup2

Whoops, Ang did tell you this stuff already. SORRY!. I just go there. Trying to catch up. Everyone point and go DUH! :rotfl:

:confused3 :rolleyes1

It's OK Dennis, you added more color to it, and told it from your own perspective. Cool.

Now if only I had some (ANY) musical talent . . .

I tried - took piano lessons once, guitar lessons . . . found out now that my best instrument is the iPod.

OK, Y'all talked us into it . . .

Just made a reservation for tonight at 8:00 (after the Cavalier's game) at the Agora Social Club - our favorite Greek restaurant here in town. Sophia is at her aunt's, so amy, and I and Alex get a kind of adult night out, with great Greek food!
