I love the chocolate covered strawberries at DL. As soon as I get off the Winnie-the-Pooh ride we head for them. I then sit an eat it while watching the people getting their pictures taken with Pooh and Friends. - I'll be doing just this next Sunday morning!:thumbsup2
Lucky, lucky girl! :goodvibes Enjoy!

Just dropping in to say "Hi" and to let you all know that our family of 3 have finally managed to get a Cat. 9 on this cruise!:cheer2:

This will be our first cruise EVER - so no doubt we'll have lots of questions for you guys in the coming months.;)

Welcome aboard! Tell us about yourselves!

WOOHOO! But the only bad part of that picture was seeing everybody in swimsuits.....made me shiver because it was so cold here today! It only got up to 59 degrees and tonight it will get down to the low 30s. I just now turned the heat back on. BRRRR!!

It was 75 here during the day, and Alex and I were out throwing the frisbee. We came inside to watch the basketball game, and in about 90 minutes it dropped almost 20 degrees! What's up with that? Chilly here now . . .

We had some GREAT Greek food tonight, and went to one of our favorite hometown ice cream places for dessert. Can you say Waffle Sundae?

(Yeah, I'll start that diet tomorrow . . .)

OK....somebody on my other meet thread just posted a question that will help the newbies here understand our obsession a bit more. :rotfl2: Here goes: At what point do you have the best feeling on the ship and at what point do you have the worst? For many people it would be stepping on the ship and getting off at the end. Anything more specific?

Here's mine -- Best feeling onboard: every chance I get to sit on the balcony when out in the middle of the ocean, just watching the water go by, and hearing that splashing sound against the side of the ship. Worst feeling: hearing my alarm wake me up the morning we get off the ship.

Good idea . . .

You know what, for me, ALL the times on the ship I feel GREAT - so I'll just start with the first great feeling - when you come up over the bridge and see the Magic when you get to Port Canaveral . . . I just get the BIGGEST smile on my face and goosebumps (which is another reason why I like to drive myself to the port). It's all good from there . . .

I also have to mention (OK if I do two?) that I LOVE to walk deck 10 late at night when no one is around. I go to the front of the deck, and feel that strong breeze in my face, watching the front of the ship cut through the waves. It is just the BEST feeling in the world, and makes me feel close to nature and God.

The worst . . . I am usually up VERY early on our last morning. I have walked the ship when we are coming into port, and it is really a sad feeling coming back into the port. This last cruise breakfast was a real bummer too, because we made such good friends (from here) that there were a lot of tears shed by kids and adults.

You have to finish the story Lisa, did that help or hurt the negotiations?
:rotfl2:

 It appeared to help, so I guess the "sight" wasn't all that bad. They seemed to have lost focus and my company was happy with how the profit numbers went in the end....Fortunately I'm able to laugh today but I must say it was so embarrasing at the time. There were 5 men in the room...1 from my company, 2 civilians and 1 naval officer. I will say it the expression on the negotiator's face when the button smacked him was hysterical. I could hear it now when he went home that night-
wife: honey, what's that welt on your face"
husband: oh, tough negotiations today...this woman's button popped off her dress and smacked me in the face...oh and yes, she was "exposed".
wife: WHAT?! Do you get hazard pay for that??

:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Well, I'm glad somebody else is getting the chilly temps.....I was starting to worry that I somehow slept through summer! :scared1: Hmmmmmm.......would that be reverse hibernation? LOL!

Yummmm!!!!!!!!!

Lisa- I'm sorry but that story did make me laugh!
I had something similar happen. I was giving a speech in front of a room of people, not knowing that my front fastening bra was slowly UNfastening. In the middle of the presentation it POPPED and shot to my underarms. All the people sitting up front knew exactly what happened. I must have been 100 shades of red!

That is hysterical! And even if you realized it was happening, it's not like you could have stopped to fix it. Too funny!!!

Welcome!!! We're a fun and nice group....you've chosen to go on a good cruise!!!!

Now THAT'S funny! I was just about falling asleep, ready to turn off my computer and hit the hay for the night, until I saw that and laughed myself back awake again!

Sorry...didn't mean to keep ya up, but I couldn't resist!!! In my mind, that's how it went!!!!

Probably pretty obvious that a lot of us that go into law like language, and like to write. I keep having all these ideas, but I just can't get motivated enough to start the process and get it going.

I second guess myself with my writing. I wonder if my plotlines are good enough, and then I wind up stopping after a chapter or so. I need to work past that!

I'm with John- my favorite cruise moment is seeing the ship for the first time. In Port Canaveral, when you come around that hill and can get a good look at the ship, it's enough to take my breath away momentarily. I usually pause for a couple of seconds and take it all in, and then I point it out to the rest of my family and watch everyone's face light up. Usually, we cheer.
I must say, even when we saw the Magic in the Los Angeles port (while we were on another cruiseline), the same thing happened.

The worst (darn you John and taking all my moments) is getting up on that last morning. The cabin is suddenly much emptier, with the luggage already collected. The closets and bathroom are barren. There's no upcoming dinner menu to look forward to. I always get that feeling, that in a few hours the cabin I've come to love as my home will be turned over to another family.

DISCLAIMER: I know that my cruise moments are sappy. Please do not regard this as a sign of weakness. I'm tough as nails when I'm not weeping over the end of my vacation!

At least you got to chapters! Good for you!

I can't get past my ideas to commit them to words.

Maybe we can motivate each other in the next year!

Don't apologize, it was great! Almost as funny as "the fart thread" on the community board. :rotfl2: (I'm so addicted to that disgusting, but hilarious thread!)

Okee dokee folks. This time I'm truly headed off to the land of nod. Catch you all tomorrow sometime!

Sorry . . .

I also think that those of us who love Disney and these cruises can be sappy when we talk to others who don't have the DISease. I gave up long ago with people at work and in the community trying to explain this. They look at me like I am a dope, as they are planning their next trip to Vegas (no offense to those of you who like Las Vegas too - never been there). Somehow, their "adult" entertainment and vacations are more "valid" than my love of Disney and being around families and children.

I don't think you need to provide that disclaimer here Gina - I think we all "get it" and feel the same way.

I'm following Holly's lead as it's almost midnight in my time zone now.

I just want to wish all the moms a

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!

Ill be home alone with Olivia for most of the day, so you may find me posting up a storm again.

Good night!

There are cat 9 ($62XX) & 10 ($53XX), two adults, available for the cruise. Would make a great mother's day gift, lol.

Well, I guess I will be next to get off to bed. I ate too much so I did not want to go to bed too soon . . .

To all the Mom's out there . . .

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

(it is now midnight here no matter what the DIS time says, and officially mother's day)

We all owe our lives to moms everywhere!
