Hi Karen....it's good to be back!

We're leaving here Sat early and we're stopping to see Lisa in Bethany Beach, a mini-dismeet. We'll do coffee and hugs and keep each other company for a little while. Then we'll check into the hotel. We have a suite with a balcony overlooking the ocean. YEAH I really need it bad. We're staying until Tuesday. We'll shop for turtles, my favorite, to add to my collection. We're meeting our real estate agent and friend, Donna, for drinks on Monday. We'll eat at the Greene Turtle, my favorite. We'll bring wine and pop some corks on the balcony.

I can't wait. I need Calgon to take me away....:cool1:

Yes you DO!!!

I hope you have a lovely time. For me, it doesn't matter what the weather is like at the beach, it's always lovely!!

Will miss you the next few days, but I am sure that you will have a wonderful, relaxing, non-stressful time!!

You will be getting back the day before we leave for DL! We will be checking the DIS while we are gone, so hopefully we won't fall too far behind.

Karen

I just need the ocean....I grew up with it since birth and I have saltwater in my veins. I need to be near it for a few days. John is the same also. We both grew up with it and miss it since living in the mountains.

Will miss you the next few days, but I am sure that you will have a wonderful, relaxing, non-stressful time!!

I'm not going anywhere....I can DIS there like I can DIS here. I'll be DISing with wine on the balcony....so you can live vivaciously through me for a few days.

I know, I'm addicted too. Just like John1 at WDW when he said he would not be checking in, but then couldn't resist and did.

Karen

Are you leaving on Thursday? Have you started packing yet? I'm going to pack tomorrow. You're staying for a full week, right? You'll be there for Mother's Day too, right? I've been reading even if not posting...I'm not sure if I remember correctly or not!:flower3:

I also grew up, across the street no less, from Richardson Bay in
Tiburon, CA, and just a short trek from the Golden Gate Bridge and the Pacific Ocean, so I REALLY do know what you mean! Fortunately for me, I still drive over a bridge every day from my house to our shop, and our new location is right on the water as well!!! LOVE IT!! Will send pics soon.

We are leaving for DL on Wednesday, May 9th and will be home Sunday evening, May 13th. We will be packing on Sunday, as I will be INSANE on Monday and Tuesday before we leave with moving most of the shop!!

We too will be enjoying wine as we will ship some very special wines for our dinner at Napa Rose and for other dinners as well... benefit of owning a wine shop!

Also, we are staying at the Cal Grand in Concierge, so wine tasting every night AND it is the Wine and Food festival at DL, so more wine tasting with several different wineries every day!!

Here's the link for the festival http://disneyland.disney.go.com/dis...s/detail?name=FoodWineComplimentaryEventsPage

There will be lots to do and it will be relaxing AND a blast!! Can't wait!!

Karen

Hello everyone. Just back from our 2 week's holiday in Lanzarote, Canary Islands. Far too many pages to read before I post this hello, but I will have to browse through them.

Missed all the chat - can you imagine what it will be like this time next year? :yay: :dance3: :cheer2:

Welcome back, Marilyn! I've missed my late night friends!:goodvibes

Deb,

Have had several wine reps in the last few days as we will be ramping up on more great wines for the new shop.

Had a fantastic Shiraz from Australia that we will be carying in the new shop, Kay Brothers Hillside Shiraz! Really great! I think that you would like it!!

Karen

We've done Napa Rose every time we've gone down since it opened! The other's will be new to us. Looking forward to them all!!

Speaking of NOLA, have you heard Harry Conick, Jr's album of the same name? Really good!!

Yes...love Harry Connick Jr! I went to Mardi Gras in '97 with two girlfriends. The first part of our trip with stayed with a friend who was Harry Connick Sr's assistant. Harry Sr was the DA at the time. So, he was sure to set us up with NOPD at every parade stop to make sure we were safe and secure. Very gracious. That year Harry Jr was thew Krewe King for the Orpheus Krewe (he's the founder of that Krewe). FYI, a Krewe is: "Any of several groups with often hereditary membership whose members organize and participate as costumed participants in the float parades, and balls, in the annual Mardi Gras carnival." It was quite the experience, one not to be forgotten (saw some really WEIRD things)....

Good morning!:)

It can't have already been 2 weeks!!

I can't tell you how much I have MISSED you!!!!

Did you have a fabulous time??

Was it gorgeous?

How were your new clothes?

Pictures soon?

Can't wait to hear all about it!!

Karen

Lanzarote is a volcanic island - all black apart from the plants and white buildings. Many people don't like it and have nicknamed it Lanzagrotty. We love it and think it is very pretty. It is Spanish, but off the W. coast of N. Africa. We rented a cute little bungalow and spent most of our time walking in to the nearby town for coffee and cakes(German run place - yum) and walking on and around the beaches people watching and wave watching. There was a lot of windsurfing to watch too. It is a very windy island which is lovely in the hot sun, but this time it could be very cold early and late.

We had some great meals out apart from the wonderful German cakes!!! The walking heloped the weight situation though.:rotfl:

Marilyn,

I had looked up Lanzarote on the web after you had mentioned your trip, and had seen that it was volcanic and unique and lovely! So glad that you had a relaxing time. Still will look forward to pics!!:thumbsup2

Off to bed now. :cloud9: Once again, very glad to have you back!!:hippie:

Have a lovely day!

I do have some photos, but need to read up how to get them on here. The others I have posted before were put on disk in Orlando, so it was easy. There are none of me though as I did not feel photogenic at all!!

Morning all!
Last night we had taco night (a bit early for Cinco!) and the girls went to bed...I watched Grey's ---- which was really a pilot for Addison's "new" show. Then I piddled around packed here and there and doing laundry.

Laundry is pretty much the plan for the weekend...how horrid does that sound?

I loved Girl Scouts. I made it all the way to Seniors. I was the only one in our council at the time so I actually just went aroung with various troops each week - mostly Cadettes.
I loved it too the short time I was in. I remember being in Brownies and just a few months of Girl Scouts. For some reason my mom was against the whole thing and we had a major family battle to just get me started in Brownies. The troop leader and my teacher even got involved in trying to convince my mom in how great it is for kids. The only thing that got my mom to agree is if my dad or another Brownie parent would pick me up from her house and transport me to and from meetings and events. Didn't last long though because she just fought it the whole way. :sad2:

I REALLY enjoyed staying concierge at Grand Californian! One evening's 'happy hour' in the lounge resulted in the only time I've ever been tipsy on wine (I'm usually a one glass is fine girl). I loved grabbing a plate of fruit in the morning to nosh on while grooming and having water and cola available at all times!

Enjoy your trip

I would LOVE to see pics of the new shop, especially right on the water. Please do post when you can.

You'll be traveling home on Mother's Day. Make sure you take some time that day for yourself. Maybe do a spa treatment before you take off. Congrats on opening soon. It won't be long now and it will have all been worth it! Glad you decided to keep your ressies and do the DL trip. You'll see, it'll all work out well in the end.

Now, that's the way to go....looks like a spectacular event....food and wine and mickey.....wish they did that at World. They do a wine tasting event, but nothing like this!

There will be lots to do and it will be relaxing AND a blast!! Can't wait!!

I'm so excited for you....we will all be living vivaciously through you!!!

Sorry for not getting back to you last night....the DIS went down and so did I....couldn't keep my eyes open.

My mom is the same way. She never liked girl scouts, so I was never in them.

Noel- So sorry to hear about your daughter. I was praying it would turn out better.

I leave for WDW in the morning!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1: :cheer2: :dance3: I am mostly packed (DH says overpacked). I won't have a computer on vacation. We are getting away from our everyday life.

How very peculiar....I was never a brownie, but I was a scout for many years. I had every badge in the book. I took it very seriously. My mom was an assistant leader and then became a leader. I remember taking trips and having a lot of fun....the innocent days of yesteryear!

We're just starting to make plans (ADR ideas and tours) for our December WDW trip and I'm getting sooooo excited. Wish I was leaving tomorrow too!
