phew! Now I'm all caught up and talking to myself :lmao: :surfweb: so it's time I went and did some much needed housework before my visitor tomorrow!:rolleyes1 I've promised myself a sit in the garden this afternoon if I get the work done first!:thumbsup2

Catch you all later!:hippie:

Holly, where are you going for a couple of days? Anyplace interesting? It sounds so mysterious...:cool2:
I didn't go anywhere, just didn't have internet until today. :lmao: Cable is out at home. Thus my "mysterious" disappearance. :rotfl: Will be trying to get caught up on and off throughout the day, sneaking tiny breaks at work. :goodvibes

DH had that on a plane. They arrested him when he got off the plane.

I didn't know Steve had a record! I didn't even think he drank much . . . I'll have to keep an eye on him . . . how was the jail time?

I bet I would have scared a lot of burglers with my pineapples!

Produce again . . . you guys have to STOP giving me these open-ended one liners! I can just hear the rim shot . . .

DH is in NYC today and he said it has been snowing horribly all day. Flights cancelled, TIMES SQUARE IS SLOW!

I saw on the news this morning that NYC got the second most recorded rain of any day since they have been keeping track. They got 7.5" of rain and the most was in 1883 with 8".

I hope your DH stays safe!!

We are so windy in DC today...about 50 MPH. My FL field trip kid is in downtown DC all day today on another fieldtrip. We got 3" of rain yesterday. Whe I took Gretchen to the bus stop we all thought we were going to blow away!! They say the winds will get worse as the day goes on.

Well, we are off to try and retrieve my Volvo. We just left it in a park and ride on Friday. I guess we will see what we find,

Have a good day everyone!

Well I'm glad it was nothing serious and I'm certainly glad you're back...we always miss you!!! We managed to chat a bunch still, have fun catching up!:hippie:

OMG, Lisa/DisneyLover5, I just heard on the news that a gunman is loose on the campus of VA Tech in Blacksburg...you were just there this weekend. How spooky is that! Thank goodness you're home and safe now.

I love the Del!! During the four years Samantha has been at University of San Diego, I have spent a great deal of time there. However, it is really changing with all the new construction. With Beach Villas starting at $2.5 million, the landscape has sure changed at the Del!

OOOOHHHHhhhhhh.....Pretty! :goodvibes Just looking at that picture gives me a tiny bit of relaxation!

After this movie we are moving to Pink Panther or Indiana Jones....marathon of course....:happytv:

We watched Space Camp this weekend with the boys. They had never seen it. Anybody remember that movie? It was very 80's, but actually held up pretty well. The boys thought it was fun.

Virginia Tech Reports Shooting, 1 Killed, 1 Wounded, Campus Closed
The Associated Press

BLACKSBURG, Va. - A shooting at a Virginia Tech dorm Monday left one person dead and one wounded, a state government official with knowledge of the case told The Associated Press.

A gunman was "loose on the campus" the state university said on its Web site. The advisory said a shooting had occurred at a residence hall and that students should stay in their homes away from windows.

"There's just a lot of commotion. It's hard to tell exactly what's going on," said student Jason Anthony Smith, 19, who lives in the building where shooting took place.

The shooting was reported at West Ambler Johnston Hall.

Officials ordered the campus closed, the second time in less than a year the 26,000-student campus was shut because of a shooting.

In August 2006, the opening day of classes was canceled and the campus closed when an escaped jail inmate allegedly killed a hospital guard off campus and fled to the Tech area. A sheriff's deputy involved in the manhunt was killed on a trail just off campus.

The accused gunman, William Morva, faces capital murder charges.

I remember the movie well. Do you also remember Flight of the Navigator? My DD loved that movie.

Oh, yeah. We rented that one a while back for the boys. :thumbsup2 We keep trying to think of the "oldies but goodies" that the boys might like. They are sort of at an inbetween stage with movies: sometimes the animated stuff is too young for them or just too lame, and yet the PG-13 movies are too much. There isn't too much in between. Plus we like to find movies that the whole family will enjoy together. Anybody seen "Firehouse Dog" yet? I thought that might be cute.

We loved "Meet the Robinsons" last week. And even though POC and Spiderman will most likely be PG-13, they will be going to see those next month.

My Freaky Night....

Why is it that strange things always happen when DH is away?:confused3 and they always happen in the middle of the night?:confused3

Last night about 1230, I noticed my dogs were walking all over me...like they were trying to wake me up. Then I realized I was hearing my garage door open :scared1: OK, I was pretty sure DH didn't :teleport: from Savannah and I know I didn't open it. I was scared, but not awake enough to really think it was happening. Went downstairs and checked and sure enough the garage door was open and the light was on (which meant that it had just opened within the past 10 minutes or so)! Shut it quickly....looked at my pathetic excuses for guard dogs...did a door and window check and then sat on the couch for a while trying to figure it out. Never did figure it out:confused3 Finally fell asleep around 3 after I was certain there was no one else in the house!!!!!
Haven't had time to see what others responded yet, so I'm sorry if somebody else already mentioned this. Yup, that's freaky! But, my ex-husband told me how when he was a teenager, he used to drive around through neighborhoods pushing his parents' garage door opener, trying to see how many other doors were on the same frequency, to open their garage doors and freak people out. So it could be some teenaged prank like that. At least I hope that's all it was!

We are getting more used to driving on the other side of the road the more we do it. John usually just has one incident of almost turning into the oncoming traffic but has never actually done it! Usually it is coming out of garages. He always finds it harder when we get home and have to change back!:confused3
I have trouble remembering which way to look first when walking across the street over there! :rotfl: But I seem to remember that it's painted on the road for us dumb tourists which way to look! :rotfl2: (At least, I think I saw that in London).

:rotfl: I haven't seen that anywhere, but London streets can be a nightmare to cross, so I will look out for them when I next go!!!
