I'll have to join self-posters anonymous!!:scared1:

Oh no... what will I do, what... will... I... do...:confused3

Sorry Karen and Deb, We were off to Church, and as we meet in a hotel we have a rota for setting up - this was our week!! So, we were off around 9, and just back at 1!!!

Karen, I sometimes feel like I am talking to myself during the day on here!!!:rotfl:

How far is Monterey Bay from LA??? We don't have any set plans yet, still scoping it out. We definitely want to do a coastal drive. We have to pick one direction.

Naturally, we would love to do the wine country, but we don't have enough time to travel that far and do that many stops. We'll have to save that for another trip.;)

We are probably going to set straight off driving up to SF with one night's stop on the way. We were talking yesterday about our long trip in 29, and decided that San Diego, Tucson and the Grand Canyon(again!!!) would be in the mix there. That means we don't have to try and do both San Diego and SF after the cruise. Unless of course we need to pop up there to meet up with cruise friends!!!:)

The aquarium is in La Jolla--I believe it's part of Scripps. We were there about an hour but didn't see even half of it. We had to leave because my friend had her 8 mo. old grandson with us and he needed to have his nap. I'm sure I could have stayed at least another hour.

Today we went back to La Jolla and walked around the cove and "children's pool" area. It was somewhat cloudy today and a little cooler, but still wonderful. We saw the sea lion rookery. Then we drove down to the Point Loma area and ate at a fish market--yummy! Then we drove a little further south to Cabrillo Pt. to the tide pools and walked around there. We drove up to an outlet mall near Carlsbad and had some Golden Spoon frozen yogurt for dinner. Have any of you CA people tried it? It's really good! I was happy to find out that they have one in Mesa and 2 more opening in Chandler & Scottsdale soon. We also stopped at a strawberry stand and had a bowl of strawberries--perfect dinner, don't you think? I got a little sun today, which feels good. More fun tomorrow...:cool1:

NotSoLittleMermaid sez: There are no bad days if you're at the beach!:beach:

Cheri...a perfect day!! We took the kids out to Cabrillo (love the view!) and the tide pools a couple weeks ago. I loved that there were docent/ranger type people all over answering questions and pointing out critters.

Oh, and a bowl of strawberries for dinner would be a perfect meal for DD.

Reminds me of the photo of DS18 with a bowl of candy for breakfast!

Woody

Now, you know, he wasn't eating candy for breakfast! That was the little ones' Halloween candy! Although now that he's "on his own," I'm guessing he's had candy or worse for breakfast several times...

We saw him yesterday...drove down from Twentynine Palms with two buddies. Looks good, having fun...

Carolyn

Glad to hear he's doing well.

Woody

Me, too! He was in the recon program at Pendleton and injured his thigh (stress fracture), so they sent him out to the desert. The company he's attached to is in Iraq now, so he won't have to go until they come back and get sent again.
