Our ladies, Amy and DD, fell asleep on the way back too, and in town one of the locals looked in the back and asked if they were dead, . I took a picture, but my SD card went missing, .

I thought we were going bowling in Aruba

Our group did 14 jeeps in Grand Caymen....OMG....worst experience of my life....but we sure did laugh!! We drove to Rum Point.....all of us got stopped for speeding and several were threatened with jail!!

We got lost on the way back....almost missed the ship.....when we climbed aboard they SLAMMED the door behind us!! We were the last ones on board....

But, I can tell some pretty awesome "We almost missed the ship" stories....anyone have any of those???

I worry so much about missing the ship.

And the first one they put us in was running when we got in. Thankfully Dennis is always prepared and decided he should turn it off and start it, just to make sure and sure enough it wouldn't start up again. We called the rental guys over and they moved us to another. Thank goodness he was suspicious of that engine being already running for us. We would have been stuck at the first stop.

See, it could happen!!!

What really cracks me up is when some of the people on the DIS board comment on St. Maarten "clothing optional" beaches. Not always a pretty sight as many people are quite elderly!!

Since I grew up in California, spent time in Europe and traveled in the Caribbean "clothing optional" beaches were pretty common. Not always a pretty sight as many people are not always "eye candy"

Been there and done that!! HATED IT!!!

Not "eye candy" is putting it nicely! Just yucky, ugly, ew... and I was 18 years younger!!!

By the way, gloomy rainy day in the Bay area so I was not suprised to hear that it snowed in Tahoe.

It rained early in Bodega, then clear but very windy and cold the rest of the day. Back home in Martinez... back to reality!

Hello everyone! I soooo miss you all. It has been just crazy. We are selling our first home (which has been a rental). All with the secret plans to have enough money to take this cruise!! Just kidding (somewhat!). Tax season has KILLED us! My husband had his severance from his last job before starting his business. The taxes are sooo big. My DH is questioning this cruise and I WILL NOT LET IT GO! Of course they make real estate taxes come the same time as income taxes. Noel, you can I sure imagine what our real estate taxes is since we just got in the Woodside market in 2005. Yikes! Anyway, work and taxes has taken over our lives but I wanted to take a breath to say hi. I think soon I can do my nightly reading of DIS to catch up. But until then please keep me in your thoughts! By the way, my friend got an okay from Stanford oncology to wait for chemo and try IVF for one more month. She is thrilled as last month she could only get one egg (or how ever that works). I'm scared of course because she is postponing treatment, but I figure the doctors wouldn't okay it unless it wasn't too risky.

We are in a bit of a heatwave - well, for the time of year anyway. It is lovely. Got the plumber coming this morning as we don't get hot water unless the heating is on. so, can't go hooping so will do some here! Not whilst the plumber is here though.

Are you back home now? I forget what you said about that.

I was gone for a few days and opted to skip the pages, it was too much to catch up on and while I was trying to catch up, the talking kept happening (adding more pages) so I gave up. I posted that if anything important happened while I was gone to PM me!

I know most of the songs, but I have to admit I have never actually seen the movie! Not sure why. It would play all the time in college, but I just never made it to a showing.

I can't move!!! The plumbers are here - been here 2 hours. We live in a small bungalow and the loft access is in the hall, so the ladder blocks the route to the bathroom and bedrooms. I have the lounge and kitchen, but I must look so lazy just sitting on the laptop with the TV on!!!

By the way, whoever originally suggested it, I am now listening to "The Time Traveler's Wife" and I am Hooked! Great listen, and I really like the story. I can see how some would not like it though. I can tell for sure that Amy would not like it.

OMG! What are we letting ourselves in for??

As crazy as my household is, I can not believe we are doing this. We applied in Jan to host an exchange student for a year. We have now been accepted and it looks like we will have a senior from Norway!! My girls are very excited.
Daniel will be gone to school....so he really does not care one way or the other.

I am not sure about you guys but I would have a very hard time sending either of my girls to a far away place to live for a year

So we all decided we can see what the life of an exchange student is like, by having one come to us!!

I've often thought about this too, having an only child I thought it could be good for dd too....mind you I've left it a bit late now as she's 19 I suppose.

Trust me on this, no one, NO ONE wants to be around if I Karoake. While I love to sing, I am the worst singer on God's green earth, and I would clear a room and embarass my family in a heartbeat. Amy would toss me off the ship, or leave me stranded by the side of the road in Aruba.

I'll just watch and sing it in my head.

John, sounds just like Mark and his singing...his greatest wish would be to sing....unfortunately he sounds like a cat with a sore throat! Truly the worst singing I've ever heard....but boy does he love to sing, bless him!
