I have two stories to share. Many years ago, I went to a psychic with my cousin's exgirlfriend. we went in back to back. I went after Diane. she told me that the person before me and myself both love the same person, but in different ways. ok, now i'm listening. she told Diane that she would not marry my cousin. In the end, she didn't. she told me that I was going to relocate my home and fall in love hard and fast and get married quickly. I looked at her and said no way, none of that is me. of course, it happened exactly like she said it would at exactly the time that she said it would.

More recently, I went to a psychic fair with my mother and we just sat down in front of a lady. she told us my grandmother was talking to her. she said she's happy and that she still does all of her favorite things, cooking, gardening and dancing. all true, so how did she know that??? then she said that I have a room in my house with all my grandmother's furniture and when I'm in that room, things just keep dropping. I said yes because it's true. she said that's your grandmother with you. she also said that she watches my cousin's daughter in dance classes. I only have one girl cousin with one daughter and she does take dance classes.

I believe there are some real people out there who have a psychic gift and then there's probably even more people who don't but do readings anyway.

True, and I've been to some of them!

Anybody else have any other stories?

Great stories! Thanks!

V....I found this on a cruise site I go to occasionally. If any of you DVC members know Sue (Comedy Warehouse expert (I don't know her, just read her DVC trip reports frequently)), it is from a cruise she went on in 04. She did an off road jeep tour in aruba...
At first glance Aruba was
surprisingly flat, and soon it began to look like a barren desert. Tall cactus plants were everywhere, along with palm trees.

I've been to Bonaire twice (diving) and the terrain reminded me very much of central Arizona--desert, sand, rocks, cactus. Not much rain, and no bugs as I recall--that was a plus!

At the ruins we noticed many weird piles of rocks. People come and make a
wish, and stack a rock on another rock. Then someone else comes and makes their wish and puts a rock on top of one of the stacks - so there were all these funny-looking stacks of rocks everywhere!

I had totally forgotten about these until I read this! The ones I saw were not only stacks of rocks, but had other stuff on or around them as well--flotsam and jetsam from the beach. They made me think of voodoo for some reason. We even got silly one day and constructed some of our own!

The water was gorgeous,
and most of the people on our tour went swimming.

The license plates in Bonaire said "Diver's Paradise" on them. There are miles and miles of beaches and dozens of dive sites that were indicated by large rocks painted bright yellow. I would think Aruba would be similar. I'm looking forward to going snorkeling there!

Well, I'm finally caught up (50 pages--yikes!:scared1: )

Just in case it might come in handy to someone later on, I determined it takes about 3-4 minutes to read a page.

Inquiring OCD minds just might want to know!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Good to know!:surfweb:

Thanks for sharing!:thumbsup2

I resemble that last remark!!:rolleyes1

I read with a lot of interest everyone's postings on psychics . . .

Very interesting - but I am always a skeptic.

There is a part of me (and I believe all of us) that desperately wants to believe that such communication is possible. In fact I truly hope it can happen.

On the one hand, I have to see the scientific proof of such things, and know that there has never been absolute proof. On the other hand, I also beleive there are many things that science has not explained, and that defy current explanation. I used to dabble in magic (the magician kind, not the dark arts) when I was a kid. There was a magician called the Amazing Randi that made a career out of debunking psychics, and even offered a $100,000 reward for absolute proof. It was never collected.

So, I have an open mind, but am not a believer in psychics.

Hey John (and anyone else interested)--here is a link to an article on Randi's website talking about Dr. Gary Schwartz, of the Univ. of AZ.

This is Gary Schwartz' reply

The VERITAS Research Program of the Laboratory for Advances in Consciousness and Health (formerly the Human Energy Systems Laboratory) in the Department of Psychology at the University of Arizona was created primarily to test the hypothesis that the consciousness (or personality or identity) of a person survives physical death.

I'm not beating the drum for Gary Schwartz, just thought some might be interested in reading about him and his work. It was because I saw a segment on the Phoenix ABC affiliate's news in late summer/fall of 2003 that was talking about his work and included a short interview with Allison DuBois (who was a participant in his studies at the time but who has now distanced herself from him--not really clear what that's all about but gathered it from reading on her website) that I looked her up on the internet and contacted her which led to my sister and I being able to book a reading with her in May 2004.

Good morning. Only a couple of pages to read this morning - about 6-8 minutes to catch up I think then Cheri!!!:lmao: Now that info will help me greatly.

It is a really lovely day today and is going to be for the rest of the week. In fact it is warmer than many places in the Med etc. We are going to the Canary Islands next Thursday for 2 weeks of late winter sun and I think it may just be warmer here!!!:confused3 Never mind, we will be on holiday and it won't rain there. (14 days away at an average of 10 pages a day will take me.......a long time to catch up!!!:rotfl2: )

Last year we had a beautiful early summer and as soon as the children broke up for their summer holidays the weather turned bad!!!

I think you have the sun again today Maz!:) I'm crossing my fingers it will get better her too! At the moment it's overcast and there are some nasty grey clouds :(

That would be correct! In fact, somebody here at work noticed that I have my smile back! :)

yay! Holly's got her sparkle back!:cool1:

Good news for your DH!

We'll put her (the MH) on a big barge and be right over!

:rotfl2: Now that I'd like to see Angie!:thumbsup2

Transatlantic translation required please. :confused3 In the UK, Calgon is something advertised that stops limescale building up in your washing machine!

glad you asked that! I thought exactly the same....

: :rotfl2: We need to learn to speak your language! ;) :rotfl:

lessons on their way!;) (reciprocal though I think!):rotfl2:

Sophia told me the janitor at school had "amonia" :rotfl2:

Now, I would have thought this was a normal cleaning fluid, but she told me he missed all week so far because of the amonia!

"I'm asking....what time did she get home? how old is she now? she still lives with you? Do tell!!"

This is my lovely little baby, :rotfl2: Becky, who is just 19, and yes she's lives with us. Her bf is away surfing for a few days so she went to catch up with all her girlfriends at a club in town.....I have no idea what time she came in, although I know she was at least sensible and got a cab home with a friend! I'm afraid she's far too independant some times.....I'm such a bad Mother!:guilty:

Good Morning Angel, you are so NOT a bad mother. You taught her all the right things if she took a cab with a friend. That's the right thing to do, never travel alone. It doesn't matter what time she came in if she's 19 years old and very independent, another reflection on your good mothering. When I was 19 I moved into NYC by myself...talk about independent. I credit my mother for my ability to do that and make it work. It's hard to let them grow and be young adults, but that's where she is on the threshold of becoming. You should be proud of the great job that you did to prepare her.

Good morning Marilyn and Mandy!

Well it's our last night (morning) in Bodega bay. It has been incredibly relaxing, I really hate to go!! Darn Reality again!!

I was waiting for the DIS to come back up and was nodding off with the laptop on my lap! Almost a disaster.

In fact, I'm nodding as I'm writing this... so now smilies, just toddeling off to bed!

Have a great day! We are supposed to have a bit of rain again tomorrow!

Karen

Good morning Marilyn, I'm glad someone has good weather. Last night the news said that it was warmer on Christmas than on Easter this year. Go figure. We have sun, but it's freezing and windy. I can't wait for Spring to come back. We had a tease of it for about a week a month ago, then puff...gone...back to Winter temps. Bhrrrrrr.

Are you going hooping today? or getting ready for your holiday? it sounds delightful. two weeks away is such a refreshing time. Take lots of pictures and post some when you get back. The Canary Islands sound ideal.

Good night Karen, sweet dreams of Mickey...enjoy your last night away from reality...:hippie:

Good night Karen :)

Good morning from the East Coast of the US. Still chilly here...29 degrees this morning.

Going to Blacksburg VA this weekend (VA Tech). They have a seminar for incoming freshman. I graduated in 1979 and I have been back several times....but this should be very fun!!

I hope it warms up a little

Well Holly,

I think I am coming down with a cold now.

I went to bed at 9:00 last night!

This weather has everyone sick!

Sophia told me the janitor at school had "amonia" :rotfl2:

Now, I would have thought this was a normal cleaning fluid, but she told me he missed all week so far because of the amonia!
Amonia! :rotfl2: Too cute! Well, I hope you don't get sick, but if you do, I hope it's just a mild cold.

Just checking in. I can't believe it isn't even 10:00 here, butI am fading fast. I spent today painting one of our apartments. We own just a few rentals, and the cash flow doesn't really justify using a property management company, so we do everything ourselves. I don't really mind the painting and other maintenance. It's the tenant calls that I don't like. The tenants are only supposed to call after 5:30 pm if it is an emergency, but their definition of an emergency is quite different from ours. My favorite (not!) was when one girl called at 1:00 am to complain that someone was in her parking spot. Did she want me to wake up everyone in the building to interogate them about parking in said spot? Good gravy. Needless to say, the girl had been imbibing that evening. We also rent to lots of university students with limited experience living in the real world. One girl called to say the dishwasher was broken. I said I could send someone out the next day. Um...but the dishes are really piling up, she replies. Okayyyyy. How about you wash them in the sink....with dishsoap....and water? :rotfl:
:rotfl2: Sometimes I think some people don't know you can do that! :lmao: Sad, but too funny!
