Now, the board is back to going down at 8.20am our time. It caught me out this morning. Very strange.

Good morning, Marilyn!

Yes, the DIS went down at it's old time of 12:20 am our time. Seems to be back a bit quicker and more stable though!:thumbsup2

Glad you had a lovely trip and I'm glad all went well!

Hope you have a lovely day!:hippie:

Karen

Well, I have been turning my mind to booking the hotels for our Nov/Dec trip around our 4 day cruise.

I tried to search to find out what we thought about a meet on 6th, 7th, 8th December as I can't remember, but nothing turned up for us!:confused3

Some thoughts. Last year the week ending with those dates fully booked up and there were many people concerned they couldn't book rooms. It appears it is a popular DVC owner time to visit, Mousefest land is from the 6th(our cruise happens to be Mousefest cruise), Pop Warner is there, and some other conferences too. Last year there was a huge conference at the Dolphin - Baseball I think.

Mousefest last year had a dessert Illuminations party on the Friday of that week, and Pop Warner took over MGM for the Friday evening, closing it to visitors.

Does anybody know anything about Grand Gatherings as there may be enough of us to get together in this way. I don't know anything about them.

I don't know where to book for the nights of 6th and 7th. We will probably go up to Universal for the following 2 nights to end our vacation, but could stay there if we booked something cheap!!!(Like POP - only stayed at POFQ and BWV on site and won't be able to afford BWV this time with going on the cruise.

Sorry for waffling! My mind is just like that at the moment until I make some decisions.:rotfl:

Do you remember who offered to co-ordinate things?

Morning all:surfweb:

Been gone most of the day, so catching up!

Our DVR has been busy taping this all day and we are watching the DCL one right now!! It is very updated, even included a teaser on the new ships!!!

WDW is on right now! They are showing the castle suit right now!!princess:

Karen

Hi Karen, wish we could get this on our travel channel too!:sad2:

I'm so jealous. :sad1: Here I sit, with 100s of channels, but no Travel Channel. :sad2: Just not right.

I'm with you on that Holly!:sad2:

We're home! Don't know if I should be excited about that. Had a great time.

Think I will just try and catch up tonight and toddle off to bed. Work tomorrow :sad2:

welcome back John :)

Fortunately, we found it in the bathroom on the floor the next day....apparently doggie didn't swallow it, but kittie found it and played with it. Thank Goodness!!!:hippie:

glad you got it back safely Deb!:thumbsup2

I know you are just kidding Kim, but MAN was it getting crowded when we left! Almost made you claustrophobic in the parks!

John, we're due at WDW on the 27th this month....do you think it will still be crowded then? Is it still Spring break for some of the students at that time? I get very confused at all the different times of holidays!:rolleyes1

Good morning.

John's mum lives in Basingstoke - that is where John is from - a Southerner!!!
Maz, that's just down the road from us!

"After the Parent Trap we all wanted to go away to summer camp like you all did!!!:rotfl: "

Oh yes! I always thought it looked great!

Our spring break is the first two weeks of April (yes two weeks)!! We're on a modified year round schedule so, we start middle of August, have one week at Thanksgiving, one MONTH at the end of Dec to the end of Jan for Christmas break, two weeks for Easter break and then we're out in the middle of June. I actually like it a lot. The kids like it to. We're able to go on vacation at different times, which is cool.

I would love that schedule. I wish we could move to a more year-round schedule here. I don't see it happening, though. I'm just envious at the thought of being able to go to WDW during January when it's at its quietest. :cloud9: Have you ever gone then?

Oh man....if you guys have a WDW meet while I'm on the ship, I'll be so sad. (Well, a little sad...as I'll be enjoying the Walt Suite at the time.)

Maz, if we get our time share at WDW for the whole week, we may be able to pass off the last few days to you. I'll have to check and see if that's allowed (I'd probably just have to list you as part of our group, after that they wouldn't care when you showed up. or we left). If the time share exchange doesn't go through, we'll end up renting DVC, and that would be just for the actual days we need. We hope to know about the exchange in the next month or so.

Glad to hear Haley is still working! Her sister Juliet has been on the cast of "Days of Our Lives" (daytime soap opera) for quite a few years.

Missed the Travel Channel shows today:sad1: Right now they are in Animal Kingdom....but I want to see the cruise one, time to search for reruns....

If you go to the Travel Channel's website, you can have e-mail reminders sent to you when the show is going to be on again. If I remember correctly, most of the Disney ones are running next on April 12. I had reminders sent to me a day ahead so I won't miss them. DS9 really wants to see the show about the Imagineers. That's what he wants to be when he grows up. (Or an actor, or filmmaker, or.....).

Good morning all. Not too much to catch up on from last night. I think everyone must have been glued to the tv, between Disney on the Travel Channel and a two-hour Amazing Race. I enjoyed the episode of AR, but I am glad they finally got the teams a little closer together. It was much less dramatic when two of the teams were lagging behind by a day or more, especially since I didn't give two hoots about either one of those teams. It was fun watching Uchenna/Joyce & Oswald/Danny team up. I just love how both of those teams race--never nasty.

Oh Jackie wouldn't it have been great for us all to get together for the WDW meet in Dec. I think Angie and Doug and Amy, John and Sophia are down that weekend from the 6/7th. When are you hoping to get down there before your cruise? We are there from the 25th Nov till be go on our cruise on the 2nd Dec. I have probably asked before, but I do forget!!!:rotfl:

So, do you exchange timeshare for DVC, or a site offsite? Not quite sure what you mean there. Whatever, it sounds a nice idea if we were able to use the rest of your week. We can hang on for booking that part of our stay till you know what you are doing. Thanks for the thought!!

Morning all... Welcome Home to everyone who just got home from trips.

That time of the year usually correlates with Mousefest and the taping of the parade. We got tickets to the taping last year (through DVC) and of course couldn't pass up a "free" ticket to WDW. It was impossible to find a room last minute and ended up staying at our "other" condo off site. With how crowded the resorts were, the parks were amazingly not crowded:confused3 This info won't help you for your trip, but if you book things now, you should find some availability. One thing I learned is that each person part of the parade filming took up several room (like Beyonce or the guys from High School Musical) so other reservations are easy, it is just the resorts. OK, I think I am babbling now....I will stop. This is what happens when you don't get enough sleep.

Can't speak for the last part of April, but the beginning of May is a great time to be there. For the most part all of the Spring Breakers will be gone by then so you should be fine!

If you go to the Travel Channel's website, you can have e-mail reminders sent to you when the show is going to be on again. Thanks, will do that right now. I did stay up until 11 to watch the DCL one but fell asleep about half way through, so I need to watch it again. My DD8loves watching the imagineers one as well

welcome back John :)

glad you got it back safely Deb!:thumbsup2

By the 27th of April you should be fine. Not sure if there is anything at WDW at that time (flower and garden show at Epcot), but no major school holidays. It should be moderately busy since it is Spring, but NOT like Spring Break weeks, and Easter Holiday.

Thumb or pneumonia daughter? Either way, hope you are doing better, and I love your quote under your name (don't tell your mom I said that).

Saw your dance stuff in your signature too, and my little Sophia takes ballet and Irish right now. Nice to hear from other members of the family!

Did your mom tell you she owes me a chocolate smoothie?

Gretchen is the thumb daughter, Annie was the pneumonia one!! Did we ever find out how Gretchen went on with her thumb?

I'm back!! :thumbsup2 There is no way I can catch up. I'll just jump in here and someone can let me know if I missed anything important about the cruise plans.
