We had an eventful morning. Our power must have gone out in the middle of the night and I did not have batteries in the alarm clock. OOPS! We got DD to school on time but it was crazy. My DH just left for work. I think I learned my lesson on this one. :rotfl:

Good morning everybody! After seeing that Tyler still feels yucky today, it's another day at home for us. Fortunately, I was able to just leave a message with our office manager about not coming in, rather than having to talk to her, so I didn't have to hear how angry she must be. Yesterday there were only 2 secretaries (for 8 attorneys) instead of our usual 4, so I'm sure things are quite backed up today for the other 3. I do feel bad for them because the attorneys get quite frustrated when they can't have things done immediately. Oh well.....nothing I can do about it.

Holly-I hope Tyler feels better soon. I remember those days. I worked with my oldest until he was about 20 months. He was sick all the dang time and I HATED to call in and let my boss I wasn't coming in, but what could I do?! He was sick. DH and I took turns staying home. At 20 months he had double pneumonia and fotunately I was able to quit working....I had had enough. I feel you're pain and I know it's harder because you're a single mommy. It's tough, all the burden is on you! I hope he feels better soon!

Please help me guys.

DD13 is still sick in FL on field trip. Teachers do not wnat me to come get her??:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

She can't talk, she can't sleep.....says she doesn't want to come home. No teacher has called me.....they haven't taken her temp....

I want to get on a flight NOW and go get her.

Do I just go?

I would call and ask to speak to one of the teachers first to assess how bad she really is, and then make a decision based upon what they say! Good luck!! :grouphug:

Have a great day everybody! We're off to the doctor to see about something for his little cough. Poor kid needs some relief so he can get some uninterrupted sleep.
I used to hate taking sick days for the kids being sick. I used to feel so guilty about not being at work but I would feel worse about taking a sick kid to school so good call. Tell Tyler to get better.

Please help me guys.

Tell them you want to talk to someone that is with her right away and then if you don't like what they say maybe go. I don't think they would keep her if she was really bad. But who knows. Good luck and let us know what happens.

Love the idea of mascots!!!! what strange animals will you be??:lmao:

Pink elephant seems logical...but I'm not so keen on being an elephant:dumbo: , if you know what I mean! Hmmm...I've got to ponder that one.
Maybe a cheshire cat???:ccat: It keeps with the pink theme--the grin seems appropriate, too.

She sounded so terrible this morning.....she was crying and saying she felt horrible. The teachers talked her into trying to stay anyway. Advil...Tylenol....she said okay she felt better.

11:30am...she called crying ....fever 104.....I got my husband on a flight from Dulles (glad we live 10 minutes away) at 12:41...takes off in about 2 minutes. I need to rent a car for him and then he can drive right to the Busch Gardens Health Center.....that is pretty cool.....so she does not need to walk at all.

Back to airport catch a 6:15 flight back home and in her bed at 8:30pm.

I feel so much better that I know she is on her way home.

Please pray for my husband and Annie......

Now on my way to the doctor with 2nd DD. She smashed her finger in te car door last night and we tried to treat it with ice and meds......she need to be seen...soonest for her was 2:30pm today. I think it must be a broken thumb.

okay, please pray for Gretchen as well.....

When it rains it pours

Is she anxious or is she sick? If it were my DD, I would try to get to the bottom of what is going on with her. 13 is a difficult age for girls. Has she ever traveled away from home by herself? If not, she may just be over anxious. I would call the teacher and get to the bottom of what is going on with her. If she is sick, she should come home. If not, try to get her to talk about what is going on that is making her so upset.

Just my two cents after raising three kids and having 6 GK's.

Oh, poor you and poor DD's!:sad2: Glad you could get your husband to get to Annie - it certainly sounds like she does need to be back with her family and in her own bed.

Oooh, how painful for Gretchen - hope it soon gets sorted. You are going to be a nurse tomorrow I think.

Will pray for everyone! Sending lots of:hug: too!

For those that know Kay Russell and her husband Harry, here is the latest information on his passing:

I have had some of our fellow disboarders ask how they contribute for flowers or a gift. The family has requested that memorial gifts may be made in his memory to Hospice Care of Southeast Florida, Inc. 309 SE 18th St., Fort Lauderdale, FL33316 or you can go directly to their website at

Our thoughts and prayers are with Kay and family during this difficult time.

Lisa:

I'll be thinking of the girls all day and sending prayers for their parents...(sometimes it harder to be the mommy and daddy than the sickie)

Karen:

Glad you are on the mend.

(shame on me, which UKer are you??? Maz or Mandy? I can't keep these kind of details in my head) Loved the paintings! I wish I had the art in me, but alas, no, spreadsheet here I come

silly priates on the EB. Noel, :cheer2: to you for your pirate:

The Zoo was great this last Sunday. I wish more of you could join us. Jennifer (my hiding Diser friend) and her 2 littlest came and it was all four of us. I'll load some pictures later today. We are going to set a date again for the same place, it really works with all different ages and is easy to get around and slightly reminded me of Animal Kingdom

Lots of work in my life these days so I'm lurking and not being too postey but sending you all good thoughts and giggeling when I'm supposed to.

btw, not a Champagne lover here, unless it's Dom. (okay I'm a snob) :rolleyes1 I'll just hang out and have another rum DOD, is that ok? I do however love that logo  & wish I could look like that pretty reahead in the glass. :sad2: oh well, I do spreadsheets I guess that's good enough....

later gators! (no I don't associate that with any team, sorry sports fans)

Nan:

Can't wait to see the pics. You might like some of the Charles Heidsieck vintages. Story below:

"The firm of Charles Heidsieck was founded in Reims in 1851 by Charles-Camille Heidsieck (Champagne Charlie), son of Charles-Henri Heidsieck (nephew of Florens-Louis Heidsieck) of Heidsieck & Co. and his brother-in-law Ernest Henriot. Charles became famous by making and nearly losing a fortune selling Champagne in the U.S. before the Civil War and subsequently being thrown in jail on charges of espionage. He had an amazing talent for self-publicity. In 1976, the firm merged with Henriot and, in 1985, with Rémy-Martin. Production is about 160,000 cases from 30 hectares of vineyards in Oger, Ambonnay and Bouzy and from purchased grapes. The House has 70 underground cellars, originally dug as chalk mines by the Romans and discovered a couple of millenia later when, according to legend, a ploughman accidentally fell into them (a depth of some 30 metres). Bravo to Charles Heidsieck, these Mis en Cave bottlings not only indicate the year the wine was laid down, but some bottlings also indicate on the neck label the date the wine was disgorged. For the first time a wine drinker can now tell the difference between older and newer releases of non-vintage Champagne. It's about time and all other Champagne producers who continue to refuse to give wine drinkers any information whatsoever on their non-vintage bottlings should follow the lead of Charles Heidsieck."

We drank the 1985 Charles Heidsieck at Samantha's 21st birthday party. Review below:

Sublime. Like relaxing into a favorite chair, this is both familiar and comfortable in its mellow profile and sumptuous texture. Flavors of coffee, grilled hazelnut, citrus and brioche wrap around the palate, retaining focus thanks to the firm structure. Lovely finish. Close to its peak and should hold there for several years. Drink now through 2010. 300 cases imported."

It is Mandy who does those wonderful collages. I'm not crafty at all!!

I'm glad you enjoyed your trip to the zoo and I so wish I could have joined you.

Join the Champagne Ladies mascots! We get the logo but don't have to have any Champagne(well perhaps a couple of tastes!!!!:rotfl: )

I can't follow any of your sport I'm afraid, but I admire your enthusiasm those who are loud supporters!!!

I love the group and logo. I would love to join the Champagne Girls. I don't drink but maybe I can bring some non-alcoholic bubbly stuff for us that can't handle the other. What do you guys think? I was going to ask Karen about any good non-alcoholic wine but I keep forgetting when she is on.

Sounds like a great idea!:thumbsup2

Well I would, but all the sweeteners don't agree with me!!! :sad2: Leaves more for you though!!!:rotfl:

I'm hoping for a proper coffee or two, then it's water, green tea and peppermint tea!!!

Wow, I do sound healthy don't I?:lmao: Wait till you see the desserts I will eat! Oh, and the choc chip cookies, cheese plates, Mickey Ice cream bars, Ice cream from the ice cream station, etc, etc, etc.!:dance3:

Maybe we can ask Karen to set something up if we all chipped in for some champagne? What do you think? Where were you thinking of holding the tasting?

Noel

Exactly what I was thinking and we can wait until we have a full list and see how many we get before deciding where it should be held. We have 14 now, including myself and the Honorary Members and/or the Mascots.:cutie:

Don't have to beg with me!!;)

I'm sure that I can ship a box just for the tasting!!:thumbsup2

Karen

Thank you, Karen. I'm certain that we will need you to do this.:thumbsup2

In my Cat 2, of course! :thumbsup2

DH and I have been thinking about doing a wine tasting as well! We'll have to explore these options further when we find out how many people are involved!:rotfl2:

Karen

Thank you for the offer. This will work. I would love to do a wine tasting too. Let's include the DH's for that one. I know mine is going to miss not being able to do the Champagne Tasting because he's NOT a Pink Pussycat Champagne Girl!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: If he gets to do the wine tasting, he'll feel better. Still, let's wait and see how many people we get on our list for THE CHAMPAGNE GIRLS before deciding where it should be held.:rolleyes1

What a fabulous idea!! We only have a cat. 3 but if we make it up the list to a cat. 1 or 2, I will be happy to host a party.

Noel

Thank you for you offer Noel. This works well too. Let's wait and see how many people we're talking about in the end. After all we only have 13 more months for people to be added. HA HA HA

Pink elephant seems logical...but I'm not so keen on being an elephant:dumbo: , if you know what I mean! Hmmm...I've got to ponder that one.
Maybe a cheshire cat???:ccat: It keeps with the pink theme--the grin seems appropriate, too.
Can I be a Champagne Ladies official mascot????? please???

Yes, of course you can. Anyone who wants to can be a Champagne GIRLS Official Mascot.....but first you have to ge the name right!!! HA HA HA HA!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We'll just have to pick a mascot. Do you like the Pink Pussycats Champagne Girls???? It'll be easy to get into costume for all of those who want to be mascots.:confused3

Mandy, O Original One, what do you think would be a good mascot for your girls?
:cheer2:
