I was in The Navy (lowly enlisted personnel) now I work for The Postal Service as a Letter Carrier - darned government jobs... I just can't stay away...:confused3

We'll wave to him from here in Eugene!:wave2:

You are right by my sister who lives in Springfield but always tells people she lives in Eugene as no one knows where is Springfield

Hi, I'm John. My wife is Granmaz (Marilyn). Thought I would join so I could talk to here occasionally!!! and see what she gets up to!!!! (Joke). I cannot remember names, so thought it would be good to start trying to remember some soon as it will be good to meet you many of you.:wave2:

Welcome John. I should be my John to join in the fun!!

Our local school, McDaniel College, has their team name as the Green Terror. It must be scary fungus. :scared1: I don't think I've ever seen a picture of their mascot. It must be stealthy fungus as well.

McDaniel Green Terror (Westminster, MD) -- This mascot was selected by womens' basketball team, who chose to name itself after a fish (aequidens rivulatus) found in the Amazon River.

I couldn't find a picture of the mascot, only the real fish.

The other team:

North Texas Mean Green (Denton, TX) -- In 1966, the football team's defense, which happened to include future Hall of Famer Joe Greene, was nationally respected. The wife of the sports information director yelled the nickname "Mean Green" at a game and it caught on. The name was heavily emphasized in the 1970s. The school also uses "Eagles" as a nickname and mascot.

I am here. I still have to do my line-up for the soccer game tomorrow. I have a feeling I will be up for awhile. We made the Ghiradelli brownies tonight. They were so good. Not good on the diet though.
Oooooooohhhh.....those sound YUMMY! But I've been very good lately. Can't even remember the last time I had chocolate. Too busy with other fun things to eat lately. A new, much younger man is a great incentive to try losing weight loss again! Especially when he doesn't even care about my current flabby state. :goodvibes Makes me want to try even harder to lose. Quite a confidence booster.

Julie: The maid(s) could have thrown the laundry at you hence you would be under it....just kidding.....:rotfl2: glad you checked in we missed you.

Julie, I missed you too! I was looking for you a couple days ago. Glad you popped in to see us! :cool1:

Had our last cookie booth tonight, I'm so glad its over. Tomorrow I make the deposits and get Molly's final sales numbers, somewhere around 1200-1400 boxes. Too many cookies.
CONGRATS to Molly on her high sales numbers! :woohoo:

I apologize to everybody because I always forget to multi-quote. But look at the good side of that: you get to see my happy posts more often! :rotfl2: :upsidedow

OK! Whole new thing. Let's put together a May Repo 2008 Panama Canal Cooking Book! I will do this! And this is the first recipe! Post you recipes on this thread - not PM! I will search our thread, make a pamplet of all the recipes posted and then hand out on the cruise. This will be great. I have a fabulous recipe for brownies that comes from my Grandma (92yrs old). I will include it - but you need to give her the credit! Please share your favorite, and this will be a perfect fish extender stuffer.
Thanks,
Lisa
The recipe for Queen Lori's Ghirardelli chocolate brownies definitely MUST be included!

Good morning! Beautiful day here in California. We have a wonderful BBQ at my sister's last night. Feels like summer. I brought the photos from our Jan DCL to share. I always think I'm buying too many photos at the time, but once I'm home I feel like I didn't get enough! It is so much fun to relive the cruise. My little one year old gets SO excited seeing pictures of Mickey. I think we might need to plan a trip to DL to hold us over as right now, May 2008 seems very, very far away. :sad2: Have a good day! Lisa

Why not fly down for the DIS meet in May? SWA has some pretty good bargains and we could share a room!! I have six GK's so sharing is no big deal.

I have got three rooms reserved right now as I am undecided where I am going to stay!!

By the way, forgot to tell you how much I loved the "rent-a-CFO" title. DH has used quite a few of you guys in his start ups. We probably know quite a few of the same people.

I want to be a Naturopathic Physician when I grow up. I used to work for an NP who made tinctures and stuff from her wildcrafted herbs on her farm...when Mekayla grows up and is out of the house (read... "I no longer need to support her financially") I am going to go to the NP college in Portland, Oregon. I think that is my ideal dream job. Yup. I will try my very best not to stalk you and ask you a million questions; I would love to sit down with you and get all the ins and outs of your profession...but I will respect the standard 250 yard personal space zone established in restraining orders while we have two weeks together on a vessel! ("I will not be a groupie"..."I will not be a groupie" - new mantra - "I will not be a groupie")

You're just cracking me up! :rotfl2:

Ok, now you're just getting icky...

Try to keep it slightly less... gooey, OK? Otherwise I will have to take my vivacious living elsewhere!!:snooty:

(Like I have anywhere else to go or anyone else to live vivaciously through.);)

Karen
Sorry. :duck:  :guilty: :flower3:
Do we want to know how you made this extra cash or will it fall under TMI?

Karen
:rotfl: :rotfl:
Official uniform sizer? Sound very intersting!:cool1:

This is one that even Holly could live vivaciously through!:rolleyes1

Karen
OH YEAH!!! :goodvibes :lmao:

I know EXACTLY where V was going with this one....official uniform sizer....very fun (we'll just leave it at that)
Oh my gosh! I just now realized the TRUE meaning of that! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: My new dream job!

So sad...:sad1:

DD specifically requested that "the leprechauns don't" make her toothpaste, toilet water or pancakes green!!:sad2:

I hate it when they grow up!!:confused3

Karen
Great ideas! Until today on this board, I'd never heard of anybody doing that....I definitely will do some crazy things like that next year. :thumbsup2

Hi John! Welcome to our great group! :goodvibes

WHEW! Finally caught up. Time for a shower, a tiny breakfast, then moving a bunch of stuff into the attic to reduce clutter, laundry, possibly clean my room, grocery shop, and maybe a few minutes to relax before picking Tyler up from his dad's at 5. Busy day.

Oh that one is very easy! Go to Costco get mix and put in oven. Viola!:rotfl:

:lmao: Thanks! I suppose even I can handle that one!

I need to edit this recipe ." Go to Costco (the $300 store...even if I go just to buy Brownie mix, I still spend $300) get the mix and puti it in the oven.

Have you heard from Tyler's dad about how he is feeling?

Hi John! Welcome to the thread....we're glad that now you'll be able to talk to you wife!!! :lmao:

And I'll befriend you!!!. Two meals at Palo, 13 to go. :rotfl: We are "on a mission from God."

There ya go!!! :thumbsup2

Went out for dinner last night at the local Greek food place...

Lucky you to eat Greek food last night!

Deb,
I PM'd you - we are stuck in the snow.....I heard you guys had 12 inches of snow.....I sent you more dates to meet up, hopefully in May.:woohoo:

Bummer you guys can't meet!!! Darn snow. Wish I could send some of our 95 degree weather your way!!!!!

Oh that one is very easy! Go to Costco get mix and put in oven. Viola!:rotfl:

That is so funny!

I actually do have a Ghiradelli recipe for brownies...they're out of this world, made with their sweetened Cocoa and their choc chips. Devine, but must have MILK!!!! The recipe is on their can of Cocoa.

Wow it is still a gorgeous day but rather chilly....and guess who is in my new bed?? Both girls....~!
Should be doing housework but I keep hoping that one day Johnny will surprise me with a maid of cleaning service.....and if I start cleaning now, it may wreck all that!
