What does the real estate run on that side? we are about 1.5 Mil for 3-5 bedroom 2/3 bath 2000-3000 sq ft, block off the beach

Prices vary all up and down the East Coast. We are in Bethany Beach DE...which tends to be a little on the pricy side, as we are so close to DC, Phila, and NY.

This house is 8 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, and $10,000,000!!:scared1: :scared1:

This house is 1 block from the ocean and 2 blocks closer to the ocean than we are.
6 bedrooms, 5 baths, and $2,265,000.

As you can see, it is much more affordable as you go just 3 blocks back.

We are three blocks from the ocean and have a VERY small house. It sleeps 8, 3 bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths. We love it here.

This is a map of Virginia. There is a great "undiscovered part" the two counties very far east....south of MD and not attached to VA anywhere. Accomack and Northampton. Real Estate is very cheap ... even ocean/bay front. If I were in the market for another house, I would look there.

Another very favorite place is Mount Pleasant SC...so beautiful.

I love waterfront!!

Great pictures, V! Those girls are cuties!

The first time I walked into Beach Club I announced that I would get married there. I keep forgetting that I need to find someone to DATE first! :lmao:

Love the newest generation of "Stormalong Ducks". Here's a picture from the Jan '05 'batch'. Notice that they have NOT learned to read yet.

I love Haley Mills!! Love the original (and new) Parent Trap....I also love Summer Magic....my favorite Haley Mills movie!

Well, I stole it from Haley Mills! I think it was from The Parent Trap. I know I've been using it since about 5th grade, so the timing would be right. I was (I guess I still am) a HUGH Haley Mills fan...as many of the pre-teen girls of my generation were.

The Parent Trap was good, but my all-time favorite is The Trouble With Angels! I also loved Pollyanna.

V (Lilygator)...what lovely photo's!:thumbsup2 The girls (and the ducklings) are really cute :):cutie:

ok, that's me done for the day......it's pretty late for me!:rolleyes1

Enjoy the rest of your day everyone....catch you all tomorrow

My son lives on the waterfront in Mt. Pleasant, SC. Small world...

I guess that would be nice and relaxing without Samantha and Haley....!

this was a hoot...outside of the Pooh ride....the two girls made the big boys ride in the back of the honey pot together....it was very cute!

Great pics...sound like you guys had a great time!!

:surfweb:

Lillygator: GREAT pics! Looks like a great time for everybody! Thanks so much for sharing! :thumbsup2

I'm back from skiing...hope I didn't miss anything:lmao: We had a great weekend with some great spring skiing. I hope to catch up on the 10+pages.
So, how is the basketball going? who is in the final 2?

Off to unpack and do some :laundy:

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

TRAVEL CHANNEL TODAY; ALL DISNEY

Don't know if you all saw the thread on this, but the travel channel is doing a mess of their Disney stuff today (resorts/parks/DCL). I hear the DCL show is the old one 'tweeked' with new stuff (and old stuff...ESPN Zone...deleted).

Check your local listings.....

Been gone most of the day, so catching up!

Our DVR has been busy taping this all day and we are watching the DCL one right now!! It is very updated, even included a teaser on the new ships!!!

WDW is on right now! They are showing the castle suit right now!!princess:

I'm so jealous. :sad1: Here I sit, with 100s of channels, but no Travel Channel. :sad2: Just not right.

Banfi Rose Regal sounds like it, I will get some and try it. It should be cold....right??

Yes, it should be cold! If you can't find it locally, we carry it in our wine shop online.

How nice!! My house is VERY SMALL, 3 bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths. Not too much to clean!! We are three blocks from the ocean...a very short walk. Houses on the ocean here are 4-5 million!!

Ours is also 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, but very big and open downstairs and kitchen.

I thought homes on the west coast were high!!! They can go up as high as 4 to 5 Mill, but can also be around 1 mill + or - for one like ours.

It was used in the original and in the updated Parent Trap with Lindsay Lohan!

We use it all the time as well!!

When does everybody have (had) Spring break. Ours is next week, the week before Easter. I always thought that was strange...seems Spring break should be the week after Easter :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

We get 2 whole days. Thursday and Friday. Gee, what will I do with all that time! I know, I could fly a whole day to WDW and then fly the next day back...

In the end I hung up on Aeromexico last night at 9:55 (they close at 10, I don´t think any operator would pick up the phone at that time). Had to call them early today, with a wait of only 30 min :scared1: and now we have our ressies for our september trip to WDW. :cool1:

Well, yesterday I got a call from where my dad goes for physical therapy that he had passed out while there, and they called 911. So I spent a good part of the day and evening at the hospital yesterday. Dad is in good spirits, and is stable, but they have discovered a clot in each leg, low blood count, and fluid on his heart and his lungs (congestive heart failure). He is now in the coronary unit of our local hospital.

John I really hope your dad gets better soon :grouphug:

Here's my theory: Snape really is good, and Dumbledore asked him to kill him in the last book. The whole "Severus please..." thing. Anyway, I think Snape and Voldemort will be killed in the final book. But Snape will die a martyr (sp?) in the process of saving Harry from Voldemort. Can you tell I have spent waaaay too much time thinking about this?

I absolutely loooove your theory.

This is a question for the those among us who are not US citizens. I have been reading the latest passport thread. It's getting a little heated. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1386812

When do people get passports in your country?

Do most people get passports in your country get them as just part of the norm at a certain age or do they, like most of the people here wait until they plan a trip?

I think we have been spoiled in being allowed to travel with just Birth certificates. I remember as a child and even in my 20's being able to cross the border between Canada and Mexico and only having to declare I was a US Citizen, with no proof what so ever.
I went to the Bahamas and brought only my Driver's license.

I'm probably wrong, but I bet all other countries, except our bordering neighbors, require passports for travel. We are lucky we have gotten away without them for so long.

JMHO

We have always needed a passport for international travel. I got my first passport when I was just under 2 years old, and have had once ever since, same with the US Visa.

DD had her first passport when she was just under 2 months old, and is currently in her 4th passport.

Everybody should check their passports. Most countries require that the passport is good for at least 6 months past the time you are travelling.
I first got a passport in college because of a band trip to Europe. We travelled to East Germany (now you know we're talking about a loooong time ago), and the border crossing was very intense, particularly on the return to West Germany. We all had to get out of the bus while it was searched, and even the larger band instrument cases were opened up to make sure we weren't smuggling anyone across the border. Also, they used these large mirrors on carts to look under the bus. It was all very interesting to us wide-eyed youth from Iowa.
DS has had a passport since he was 5 months old. It was pretty funny using it when he was 3 years old. How could anybody tell if it was the same kid. I can definitely see why children's passports need to be renewed every 5 years instead of 10.

In Mexico, the passports for children under 3 yo are valid only for one year, and then they are valid for 5 years. Only adults can get 10 year passports.

My passport is good until august 2008, but both dh´s and my visa expire within a 2 week period in dec 2007 and jan 2008, so I must call the American Embassy to request an appointment for us.

Going to the US by car is not much different to what you experienced, we have entered through Laredo a few times, and they make you get out of the car, will have dogs sniff you and your possessions, have seen them use the mirrors under the car in some people. Then you must leave the car, go into the office and make a loooooooong line (I am talking many hours, esp. on high traffic days), and go through the inmigration progress.

Very possible! Or maybe he forgot where he is!

:lmao: :rotfl2:

Thanks you. I will be sure to tell DH. She was in a great deal of pain and was at home with her family when she passed. The sisters all gathered together for one last time just a few days before she passed.

Noel

Give your DH our condolences, please, at least the sisters will be at peace after having said ther goodbyes.

I lost both my parents. One to a terminal disease and one to a tragic sudden death. The fortunate thing (if that term should even be used) about a terminal disease versus a sudden tragic death is you can say goodbye. The bad thing is it is very painful and takes a long time to recover from being care giver to mourner. I am only 34 and have lost both parents. The most pain for me has been not being able to share the joy of my girls with my parents. We lost DH's mom last April so we are down to one Grandpa who lives on the East Coast. We have flown out 3 times in the past 2 years because I think it is so important. I am thinking Florida would just be a better spot for us.

:grouphug:

:offtopic: DH Grumpy John wants me to post the news that happened at my house today....We have a genuine .50 ctw diamond puppy. While we were having a snuggle fest today, Angel popped up and bit my ear. Afterwards I found that my right earring, a .50 ctw diamond small hoop, was missing. Couldn't find it anywhere....puppy must have swallowed it! We're hoping this too shall pass!

EEEWWWWWWW :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:
