WldWcnWmn: I am in a GTY so I will let you guys know our cabin as soon as I find out. I am having anxiety issues about being left out of "group things" since ya'll won't know where to find us!

I'm with you. I am very concerned about getting a cabin number at the port and then how do I let everyone know where I am?

Maybe we should organize something onboard where we can sign in our numbers? Does anyone have any ideas? How was this done in the past?

Help!

We are also GTY, and I bet we aren't the only ones along with you! I think we should wait a bit longer before we start to worry about this, but I think the idea of "Deck Monitors" is a good one as long as I don't need a "Deck Pass" to walk around. :rotfl:

Ahh those single days... :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Actually, glad their over, I had many years of being single!! :cool1:

Karen
Well, after 5 1/2 years without, I learned Friday what I've been missing out on! Never did anything like that in my 20s, so I'm making up for it almost double-time! (Get it? I'm almost 40. :rotfl: )

I think me having a semester off law school was a very dangerous idea. I need to get back to my responsible self! :rolleyes1

First: For the second time in a week I typed a LOOOONG post with tons of fun and important stuff ( ;) ) and when I hit submit it went to a SIGN IN SCREEN!!! I guess I took to long checking my spelling, eh?

Second, I WOULD lick the banana slug if it SMELLED like a banana.....maybe.

Third, I'm also freaking about being GTY....don't like that they can change my room assignment right up till boarding time!!!!

ANYONE IN # 6645? That's the cabin I was assigned before the 1/31 lost reservatin brouhaha.

I like the idea of floor monitors...just need volunteers who have assigned cabins and don't intend to upgrade.

Thought I would post a pic of our family too . . . DS in this photo will not be with us. This was taken last year at Easter outside of church.

so busted....I was laughing my way thru this one...oh those were the days (oops I mean nights) and (mornings)... have fun you only live once & we like to hear the stories....:rotfl:

Yes, we are living vivaciously (pun intended) through you, Holly!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Karen

:rotfl2: You know, the girls at work were dying laughing at me today too! Of course, those were really great stories. Struggling to stay G rated here, but I see you're reading between the lines. ;)

When I gave Alejandro a ride home in the morning, I asked him if he was serious when he told me he's only 27 and he said yes. When I laughed, he wondered what was funny and I told him he must be out of his mind because I'll be 37 in a couple months! He looked at me with big eyes and said, "Wow! That's old!" And then he started laughing and told me he's joking! :rotfl2:

OK...back to tamer topics. :upsidedow

Fourth. How's everyone doing finding rooms for the DIS MEET???? I can't get anything Saturday night though I MAY still be able to get time share for Sunday/Monday, but I really wanted to arrive Sat so I could hit the parks Sunday morning.

Carolyn, were you trying to get something for Sunday night?

Cheri, have you checked out rooms yet? I know you wanted to do the red carpet on Saturday (my idea of a living-hell)?

I know Noel couldn't find anything in the DCL resorts, have people tried the area hotels???

ok...heading home now....back later........

On our first cruise we booked gty and it worked out fine. We had our room number before final documets were sent out. It was a long wait but well worth it.

This time I booked a specfic cabin since the fwd. makes me sick. It was our honeymoon and I couldn't be in the cabin at all.

You know what I always, always, always do? Whenever I type a long post (or e-mail, for that matter), I always select & copy it just in case something happens. Just an old habit leftover from when I had dial-up many years ago and always got booted offline at the wrong time and lost long e-mails often. It only takes an extra second and is worth not having to deal with the hassle and frustration of losing a long post or e-mail. :thumbsup2

A DIS name on the door and a stocking on the fish told me which doors to leave something at when I was walking the halls in Dec. :thumbsup2

Angie Great idea, Liserann is doing Mickey heads!

Great picture, John! Of course, the first thing I noticed was the lush, green grass. Made me drool! Can't wait to see green again! I'm about going nuts seeing the dreary, brown grass, brown trees, brown bushes, etc. Yuck.

I'm not thrilled with Disney priority dining right now....I can't get the "large groups" guy to call me back. Although that could be because they won't book more than 60 days out. I'll wait till the 20th and then I'll get aggressive with them! Give 'em heck!!!!

Not to mention the brown you know what I had to pick up . . .

It is starting to green up just a little bit here . . . but the UGLY piles of black snow that remain make things look real yucky.

Jealous of your guys DIS meet out there on the West Coast.

I think I mentioned before, but I will mention again, we will be at Vero Beach March 23-27, and WDW Beach Club Villas March 27-April 1 if anyone is going to be at the "World" during that time.

We have some meets scheduled this summer with old friends from other cruises, but nothing in the really near future.

Dog logs.

You're lucky....not a speck of green here yet. :sad2: I can't wait until the smell of the neighborhood the first time everybody mows. I just love the fresh-mowed smell!

or a Deck Pass to get a DOD, wait a minute that might be a good idea for some of us, right???

Bummer I missed an ebay auction I was watching...It was an AG outfit for Molly for the cruise. Yes I'm an over planner who buys clothes for my children years in advance just in case I can't find the exact thing I want prior to my trip....Of course the hard part is guessing the sizes, that my friend is getting more and more difficult as they grown up. My 9 year old is hitting the size 12 in some things, while my 7 year old can still fit in some of his size 5's. What is a planning freak to do???:confused3

We are in the process of building the turtle tank for Crush, Wilson's turtle that we got him for his bday. What a process....we got him the mega block (like legos) Flying Dutchman to sink in her swimming area and as Wilson is building it today, he says "I'm not sure this will be good to go into her tank" "can it come in and out of the tank?" hmmmm me thinks he wants to play with the priate ship 'eh? I hope once it's all built he'll be ready to sink her as it really could turn out to be cool. Pictures to come as it gets sunk....(I hope)

I will be happy to be a focal point for those who have gty cabins. You can stop by our cabin and leave your cabin number when you board the ship. I will figure out a way to keep all of the number, maybe a list on the door or something.

Second thought, maybe people can call our cabin and leave voice mail with their cabin numbers.

:surfweb:

On our 11 night SC cruise we had floor monitors on each floor so that if your room changed you went to the one on your floor and put your room number on it. That way everyone could check these for any updates. They also kept track of any changes in planned activities.

Thanks for all your responses....I do feel better about the uncertainty of not knowing where we'll be and how to stay connected.

noel, so sweet of you to offer, but how do you know how many people will be affected? Could become overwhelming and time consuming if it's a large number. don't want to do that to you. time is fun!

carol, floor monitors sound like a good way to do it, especially since everyone can also check for activity changes. btw, I was on the same cruise, that's where I learned about DISers and the boards. as soon as I returned home, I got online and started checking it out and now - of course - I'm hooked.

john, now I really feel better knowing that you're a GTY also. all I have to do is find you....makes it easier....everyone will know where you are. and you're right about waiting...we should probably pay for it before we start worrying about it. Deck Monitors good - Deck Passes not good - I got it!

ibouncetoo, need volunteers who have assigned cabins and don't intend to upgrade, yes I agree that this is important.

tigger1221, so you got your cabin number after you paid for it in full?!? makes sense. have to learn to be patient. so hard to do.....what! you couldn't be in your cabin during your honeymoon. that's horrible. at least now you know not to go fwd and you can make up for it! Ha Ha Ha

angie and auntie pj, a DIS name on the door or a stocking on the fish would definitely sound off the alarm that this was a fellow DIS...and liserann's mickey heads especially!

Thank you everyone, it's so great knowing that all you have to do is ask and everyone answers. it makes the whole process so much easier and way more enjoyable. You're the Best!!!:grouphug:

I actually ended up having ressies in three hotels, including the Grand Californian if anyone needs to share rooms.

:rotfl2: I'm with Wilson! I'd want to play with the ship too! "Santa" brought Tyler the Black Pearl at our house and the Flying Dutchman at his dad's house and I love both ships! They both travel back and forth between our houses occasionally and I have so much fun playing with them! :thumbsup2 But yeah, it would be cool to have the ship in the turtle tank.
