That's so good!!!!

Sometimes writing on these sites, emails, that kind of thing it is difficult to express things properly because there are no clues in the voice, face or mannerisms. I know on some forums people get offended so easily, and of course I worry about the US/UK differences in speech and sayings.

Although of course it was me who got into trouble that time!!:lmao:

Awwww!:flower3:  :goodvibes

When I was young, I wished for the attention of the girls, and never got it . . . just goes to show you, watch what you wish for!

Of course, humor is the most dangerous. I have gotten myself in trouble over that one more than once - here included!

Heh heh. Not with me Captain.

Can't really help too much on the hotel - though the Doubletree has an indoor pool and hotel circle is a good location as it's not too far from anything.

I would suggest either the zoo or go to one of the museums in Balboa Park (also where the zoo is located).

Or if your family is interested in naval ships the USS Midway is available for tours and is located pretty close to downtown.

We will be spending that day doing laundry and sucking up to the cats for leaving them for 17 days (they have a pet-sitter who caters to their whims but it is not enough....)

The Midway. Then there's always TJ. AND Legoland...

well - I got the maxed out merit! It's well above budget, which we rarely do. So I am thrilled! (not so much I will really see a difference in my paycheck though)

It's really hard on people who aren't used to the heat. We can stay all day....and the girls are usually fine in their swimsuits. Both have fallen asleep on the loungers though.

If you are by a beach there usually is a breeze....also, keep a wet washcloth around your neck - it will help keep you cool. The beers on the other hand, warm you up!

Lake Havasu in August. We are talking HOT! You'd love it V!

Formal night meets Tropical night...

Ya know... by the size of those things...I'm thinkin at LEAST a DD cup...

Mrs. Woody enjoyed watching Boyz II Men on the first PC cruise. Ducky Williams is always a favorite.

On the Eastbound PC, Susan Egan put on a fantastic show.

Roy and Edna Disney were onboard and were introduced before one of the stage shows. Are they still together?

We went to the May 2007 DISmeet at Storytellers and met some very nice fellow cruisers. Hope to see some of them again before we sail.

We will be in Las Vegas from March 14 to 21, so we cannot attend the one in March. (If anyone also will be in L.V. during that time, we could have a mini DISmeet in Las Vegas.)

We hope to go to the April 19 DISmeet, and will know for certain later today.

Woody

We were at Storytellers Woody. We must have met.

Since we are at SSR, and there are others at WDW perhaps at various resorts, a meet the day or evening before might be best arranged at DTD. Since not everyone will have a car, you can always hop a bus from the resort to DTD and back.

If others are going to the parks, maybe you want to hook up at MK or another one of the parks?

Good idea John.

Kelly,

My parents are also from the farms in OK. My Mom came out when she was 6...1933. My Dad's Mom (Grandma) came away from the farm of 8 girls, before my father was born. Good old Oakie stock here. My parents grew up in Pasadena, moved to San Jose in 1958.

I'm a native of San Jose, California. We live in the house I grew up in. We bought it from my parents in '98. I've watched California grow into the state it is. Not so great from many views, but also a hard place to leave when you are entrenched with real estate, jobs and school for the kids. Northern Cal is so different from Southern Cal in my minds eye.

California actually has the most diversity of any state. In all ways. So every region is different. Soarin' shows it well.

Goodmorning all, we are freezing to death here, it is going down to a nasty 58 today and our heat is on and we're bundled up in sweatshirts! We are beside ourselves and it is the top story on the news!!!!! Of course, our houses aren't built for it either. I know, I know, I can hear you laughing at us all the way out here. Seriously, you guys are the second story on the news and every news break.:happytv:

In the 40's during the day here and raining. It is snowing down to 500 feet!! So our peaks will all have snow in the morning!

I am compelled to tell you our story here... on 1/15 it was the 15th anniversary of losing my home, everything I own (down to my shoes, baby pictures and 6 cats) to a Christmas Tree fire. It (obviously) took me years to deal with it, but I met my husband because of it. On the second anniversary of the fire my friend insisted I go out with her and not sit home to think about it. She set me up with the man I ended up marrying. For years peopel asked me why my stuff was still up that late.... well, I was busy working on the show Full House, I had been sick, I need help getting it out, everything was off of it, but the power strip under the tree exploded and lit it up like a cannon. So, fast forward to this year. We've been really busy this year. I said DH Please make sure that Xmas tree is down and out of the house by the 15th, I can't have it up on the 15th (yes, us and all of our friends have really good artificial trees - much like many of you.) The night of the 14th DH leaves on a business trip and it is still up (apparently he didn't notice it standing in the corner of the room!) There I am on the 14th with DD4 taking it down and laying it on the floor. YESTERDAY HE BAGGED IT UP AND PUT IT IN THE GARAGE!!!!!! :scared1: :scared1: Next year, it comes down on Sunday January 4th (mark my words!!!!)

We also had a fire in our house when I was 11. It was not at Christmas time, but I have never forgotten it.

A few years back I insisted on our only having aritificial trees (we have 3 now with the Mickey tree that we got in WDW in 2006,) and I feel so much more comfortable having things up a bit later.

Here's a laugh for all of us old enough to remember: 2 nights ago DD4 and I watched the Parent Trap (Lindsey version.) Last night we watched the original Paretn Trap. At the end DD said, Mom lets watch the real one again with the red head girl. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

We love both versions!

Karen

Hey, V...do you know for sure that they are breaking up late dining? From everything else I have seen they haven't done the different times on the repo cruises. :confused3

Lisa-DCL told me this earlier today while I was on the phone with them (specifically about the repo and she put in a request for my group for 8pm...heard her clicking away). HTH!

I can't tell you how much I loved running.

For several years, I absolutely lived for it. I would run every evening, had a set route, pretty much across town from where I lived, and it was one of the best times of my life being able to do that. Always put me in a great frame of mind too. I was in the best shape of my life at that time.

Two things killed it for me . . . Law School - who has time to run with all that studying (I used to spend about 3 hours a day at the library studying) and playing football with those same buddies. My first year of Law school, I was playing football with those guys and got tackled by one of the biggest of them. I went one way, and my knee went the other. That is how I lost the ACL, MCL, and meniscus in my right knee. I was on crutches for several weeks, and after that running was not the same - my knee can't take it!

That is also why I am now very happy with this elliptical machine. Most of the fun of running without the banging stress on my knee. The only thing I really miss is the terrain, and being outside. The old basement just isn't as nice as being out in the open air.

I did 20 minutes tonight again, and was hungry all day to do it. I got in the door at home from work and told Amy to hold my dinner until I was done. Once you get started again (at least for me) your body starts to crave the exercise.

John,

Too bad about your knee. Sheesh! I dream about running now too. What a free feeling. I loved it too. I wish I could run like that now.:sad2:

I'm sorry, I know someone asked this already. Do you read lips? Or shall we just say hello with a smile and a big hug? :grouphug:

I think well all do just fine. Remember Larry at the VA Ang? We did fine. He was mute also. We "talked" all of the time. A big smile and a hug sounds good. :grouphug:

That is so funny...and a lot of people think my DH looks like Alec Baldwin (but of course, I think my DH is better looking). However, I sincerely doubt I could get him to get in that get up. :scared1:
