It was the concert and yes, troy couldn't be bothered. Well he can't sing anyways. ;)

I was suprised at how thin ashley tisdale is in person. A twig...crazy

Poor Ashley... my daughter is not happy with Ashley's new nose.
She was so well known for her "look" and now her nose is so run of the mill she is not recognizable as herself. :sad1:

Amy and I have volunteered for lap counters in the past, although if it is too early in the morning, Amy may not be awake yet.

I would be glad to help out, lol, as long as it is deck 4, those teak chair are a must.

Pj
I will sit with PJ in the deck 4 chairs!:yay:

ok, I'm back...Granted it took me 10 hours to get back, but life got in the way of DIS again.

Now to buy a heart shaped box of candy and not eat the candy :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
DH thought that picture of your daugher was me!!!:rotfl: I told him to remember at that age I had blond hair (it turned red as I got older).

I LOVE this idea, will we all fit out on the secret deck on 7? It would be a great photo op place....I'm sure we could all squish in and do it! Anyone else like this photo idea? Should we do it here? We could all wear our lime green colored shirts.

I LOVE this idea. I look terrible in Lime green, red hair and light skin, reflects the green. But I will wear it for a Dis pic.

Super busy at work today, no time to post or even read any posts after I was on last night. Stopping to say HI and that Tyler's diagnosis we were given is ADHD with OCD. The licking is from the OCD. Gross. We go back a week from today (that's when Tyler starts going) and he'll have weekly appointments. I promise to share details tonight if I get a chance to find a place to get online, but going out for a drink after work with co-workers.

I am glad you got a diagnosis. One of my sisters has OCD. She is on medication and doing much better and I hope he does too. SHe and I also have ADD and Myclonicdystonia ( a nerological disorder.) I know alot of people think medications are bad for kids but they arn't . IF needed they really help. Everyone can tell when I take my meds and when I don't. Give him lots of hugs for us.:grouphug:

Zip Line Info:

I have been speaking with a rep from the company that DCL is going to use. His opinion was the Outdoor Adventure on in PV is the best, followed by the Canopy Tour in Cabo and last the Canopy tour in PV. The OA one has some rapelling and a mule ride as well as zip lines. The Canopy one in Cabo has the rapelling and such as well. We are still trying to decide which one we will do, but we are doing one of the 2. The Cabo one has this one picture on it that freaks me out completely and I can see myself sitting there holding everyone up!!!!!:scared1: But, I will do a zip tour:cool1:

We are doing the one in Cabo!

We need some prayers:

My greatgrandmother died today at the age of 93. My grandmother (the one who was sick) is doing ok but they think it will get alot worse when she is at the funeral. We knew it was coming but it will still be hard on her.

If you think the crying and screaming were bad at your house just wait until the concert! :scared1: I took my daughter to the concert for her birthday in November. I got a luxury box for 20 of us total to go so she invited 9 friends and their moms. The screaming was so loud that the suite attendant was handing out earplugs to the parents. I know I lost a little hearing that night. :lmao:

She was touring with the Jonas bros when she came by here and those little girls were screaming and crying for those boys so loud as well it was truly deafening.

On an upside my daughter was so shocked to go to the concert and thinks it was the best night of her life. I agree that the cost of the tickets is nothing when you see the reaction. I paid way way too much but I was the coolest mom in the world according to my daughter. :cloud9:

So fun :goodvibes Molly and her friend Bailey went to the HM concert at the SJ Arena. She loved it.

She was telling me the other day that she was sad that not many kids in her class like HM and she feels embarssed that she does. It's so hard being a kid these days. Okay anyday it was hard being a kid. I can't figure out what another 10 year old kid would not like HM. I get it having different tastes but to make you feel bad for liking a singer just seems so petty. I guess that's the crux of middle school huh?:confused3

Glad to hear your DD likes HM, I'm sure she and Molly will enjoy palin g around. I mentioned to her the other day about doing a scout thing together and she thought that would be great fun !

Prayers coming for you and your grandmother and the rest of the family during your grief.

My daughter loves Hannah Montana and was so excited to go to the concert. I told the parents of course but it was a secret for the kids. I told them they were going to Libby Lu for Hannah make overs so in the limo I handed out Hannah purses full of goodies and it seemed normal to them. I did not tell them til we were pulling into the parking lot and they freaked big time. A couple kids were crying and they were all screaming so much! It was magical! :wizard:

I have to agree that being a kid today is hard. Heck the other day my daughter decided to not wear her jacket even though it was a downpour since someone told her she looked "fat" in it. :rotfl2: Now once you meet my daughter you will get the joke. She is so not fat it is funny but it hurt her feelings and she stuffed her coat into her backpack. It is a puffer type jacket I got at the Gap that is down inside, so yes it is puffy. Not fat looking though but the damage is done and it hangs in the closet. Kids laughed and the jacket got banished.

Seems everyone expects them to be all grown up at such a young age. Even their peers. Yes my daughter is more advanced then I was at her age and granted she has a heck of a lot more things then I did but....she is still a little kid. At least I try to keep her a little kid as best I can. Watching her grow up is so bittersweet. I love who she is becoming yet miss the child she was. :sad1:

I have told my DD Jacinda about your DD Molly. She is excited to meet her! She said doing scouts stuff on the ship will be cool. Maybe one day when the weather is better we can meet up here in the Bay before the cruise and do something with the girls.

Karen let me just say that it is sooooooo great to have you back on here. I really really really missed you. I love your wit and your personal perspective of looking at things. Keep them coming Girl!

The feeling is mutual (said like Teri Garr in Young Frankenstein!)

XO,

Karen

I just want to take a minute and thank everyone for their positive and kind wishes for me and John with our not smoking. Yesterday I had a hard time with it....after taking Ray to the moseleum I felt stressed and really really wanted to reach for a cigarette....since I was already out and about, it would have been easy to stop and pick up a pack. BUT I went home and had my cheerios and read all of your well wishes and support and I was able to overcome it. I just want you to know how important you all are in this process and why this time is going to be successful unlike other times. It's because of you all.....I just don't want to disappoint anyone here and that keeps me honest. Thanks everyone. Your support means the difference of my being a smoker or being a non-smoker. I couldn't do it without all of you and especially Angie. Thanks so much.

You don't give yourself enough credit my dear!! It was your own strength of will that helped you too!!!:thumbsup2

To say we're proud is an understatement!!

For those who have done the repo's in the past...what type of special things do they have for sale? I remember the first PC cruise people were sleeping out in line waiting to get pins. Did they change policies and such now so it isn't as much of an issue? I would probably want a full set of any special pins they have (actually both girls would want a set, so make that 2). Drinks, we'll probably do a wine package with dinner and then hopefully have our own stuff with an occasional drink in the clubs. DCL doesn't monitor what you bring on in ports, do they? They just monitor what you bring off when disembarking, right? (ok, now I sound like a heavy drinker, which we are not, just wondering)

do you guys think the wine package is worth it?

We had pin forms on the east bound repo and it was very easy. One set per person per stateroom.

They had special t-shirts, posters, ornaments, figurines, tons of stuff to purchase and new stuff almost everyday!! Lots of sea days meant lots of shopping!!

We don't think the wine package is all that great, but we own a wine shop, so there you are!!

You can't ship wine to the port anymore, but they do not care if you bring it on in your luggage. We plan to ship our wine to whatever hotel we will be staying at and bring it on board. We usually try wines that are on the wine list as well with dinner. They also have a "special" wine list that is a bit different from the regular wine list, you just have to request it.

Karen

I think it is a bit overpriced (if I remember correctly), but this year we considered splitting it with our tablemates and making it more realistic. The nice thing about it is that the wine will follow you if you don't finish it. I think Scott just bought 1 bottle of wine for our first cruise and it lasted all 3 dinners. This time, we'll probably do the smaller wine package and see how it does. I haven't really looked into it in a while, as far as prices, kinds, etc...but it certainly makes it easier. Karen...or anyone who may know...are you allowed to bring your own bottle of wine to dinner? Do they charge a corkage fee or anything? If you can do that, that might be the best deal...

With past DCL cruises we brought our wine and shared it with our servers and usually did not get charged the corkage fee. Plus we always order a glass of something from the menu first.

This last cruise, in November, they did charge the $12.00 Corkage fee. It can only be charged once, per bottle, and your wine can follow you to the next nights dinner, if you don't finish it.

We usually took our final glass of wine with us to a show, or to sit on our deck, so we didn't have that problem.

Karen

I think it runs like most stage shows, a few times through the day. I can't answer the front one question, but it really was a great show. Just very entertaining with great effects and such. One of the best Disney stage shows we have seen in the parks (Lion King on Broadway certainly was the best). Speaking of shows....does anyone else like the "opening act" for Beauty and the Beast at MGM (or Hollywood Studios)? We often pop in just to see that part and then leave before the real show starts.

DITTO!! We love the opening act, but not so much the actual "show"...:rolleyes1

Karen

I plan on paying for the tips ahead of time and have it out of the way. I wonder though, do they still give you slips of paper to put in the tip envelopes?
Yes, Guest Services will give you slips that are perforated (like a Ticketmaster ticket) so you can keep a portion for your records.

Woody

What do you mean? All of mine are 8x10s.....I thought that was the only size you could get with the packages? Please enlighten!
They have packages with the 5x8's -- which are usually candids.

In 2005, as the Magic went through the locks, Shutters photographers got off the ship to take photos of passengers waiving from the ship. These were 5x8's.

Woody

It is about 45 minutes long and I think they have four or five shows a day.

I was last there in 2005 but I'm sure someone from CA will have more accurate information.
Typical Aladdin showtimes are 12:20, 1:50, 4:05 and 6:00.

I just did another 2 mins. on the treadmill, I think that will be enough for me for today.....I feel like putty and I'm breathing hard. That's a good thing right. I think this weekend we're going to finish the room move and set up my studio so I'll be able to do the treadmill and the ballet barre. Those 2 more sizes are going to happen even if I have to kill myself trying. I have 2 beautiful dresses two sizes too small. What motivation.

Oh, btw, I got on the scale again today.....after only four days.....I lost another 2 lbs. I'm psyched. I keep weighing myself because I'm 2 lbs. away from a hugh milestone.....next week I'll make it. When I hit those 2 more lbs. I'll only be another 25-30lbs. before I'll be able to fit into my dresses. I'm feeling good about it and going for it.

Bravo Deb!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I think that I picked up 6 of your pounds!!

I didn't gain any after the cruise and a week plus in WDW, but after being sick these last 2 weeks AND Christmas, of course, I put on some pounds!!

So anoying!!!

Karen

I should have said the one in Acapulco. The one in PV is safe and much larger.
I remember getting off the Magic in Acapulco in 2005, and just outside the secured port area, there were armed police (with automatic rifles) who looked maybe 16 or 17 years old. Scary!

93 is quite impressive though...
