:sad1: The school district has won. My son will be in state testing during that period and yes, he will lose class credits for missing 10 days of high school. I can't take that chance, he is real smart but not the best student (doesn't like to do homework). So, with a very heavy heart, I have just asked my wonderful travel agent to cancel this cruise. I will be back before the sail date to wish all you wonderful people a bon voyage!! I guess I won't be needing the spots in the Hummerzine.....:sad1: I won't get to go to Bunco....:sad1:

On a happy note, I wish all of you the very best time on this cruise and I hope to meet you on a future cruise. :wave2:

Oh, Tammy, I'm really going to miss meeting you! Time to start planning something else fun during approved vacation days to take the sting out of this.

Carolyn

News to me too. Of course that's not unexpected. They won't send us our member cards because of custom regulations??? - that's the story I get when I call anyway.

Fiona

I have my castway card and my DM has one too. I would call and tell them you want yours!

Someone on another thread posted that you are no longer allowed to ship wine to your stateroomas the warehouse will no longer accept liquids.

Does that include your shipments, Karen, from the wine shop? I was sure hoping to purchase wine from you for both this cruise and our December cruise.

Hi -
There are so many repeat cruises on this thread, that this is probably something you already know about, but here's a link to the current Castaway Club Compass newsletter.

I think I signed up for it on the DCL website after logging into the Castaway Club link. But darned if I can find it again.

I'll keep posting the link as I get these newsletters. If I keep getting these newsletters....

News to me as well, but not surprised. I haven't received anything from DCL.

Resistance is futile . . .

Must not be assimilated. Must resist the nanoprobes. Hey wait a minute, it all makes sense now, you are passing off nanoprobes as Ipod nanos.

Oh you evil Borg....:faint:

Well this just stinks. Couldn't you hold off for a while, maybe dates will change? (wishfully thinking)

We'll miss you.

Mom 323, I saw on the discussion board that your birthday is the 23rd March. Mine too!:thumbsup2 Next year will be my 60th, so no thumbs up for that!!!

I am so very sorry to hear that. I thought for sure you'd be able to work it out. I took my daughter out of high school during her sophmore year for a wedding in Hawaii. I fought with the school for 6 months, but finally won. They finally agreed to give her the work she would be missing ahead of time.

Sorry Tammy that you won't be able to join us. :(

The Castaway newsletter - we got that in the mail. I assumed everyone did.

I am really feeling sick tonight...cold/flu like sick. I guess standing in the misty rain at MGM on Saturday is now rearing its head. I am going to try and make some corn chowder tonight and grilled cheese...not healthy but my comfort food. DH has a ball game so I'll be on my own with the girls until around 9:30 or so.

The cruise seems so far away....I don't want to wish the time away but I could use a deck chair and the soft sounds of the waves right about now!

Sorry to hear that but you do have to do what's best for your son!

We'll see you soon, I'm sure!:flower3:

Those of you who have never used seatguru.com it is a great website. It tells you which seats are the best on each airplane and airline. It really has a lot of great info.:thumbsup2

It sounds like a lot of you are staying at the airport the night before or flying the red-eye. Is anyone planning on staying closer to the port where we might be able to have a dis-meet?

We had beautiful weather both yesterday and today. :cool1: Sunny and mid 60's. WOW! Not even long sleeves required! I did not go to work today. I stayed home and mowed the yard! :upsidedow It was getting pretty high because it has been pouring rain for weeks and weeks. Only time we see the sun is on work days. The rain returns tonight and goes right thru the weekend so I just decided what the hey, I've got tons and tons of sick leave that I will lose in a year when I retire, so I just used a day of it today! :thumbsup2 DrHug is not working today either, so it has been a nice day. :goodvibes

We may come in a couple of days early and use our DVC points. It is so far to fly that we just have a really hard time not spending a few days in Florida. Hmmm. Maybe Vero Beach. :thumbsup2

I hate to rub it in, but it was 85 here today! My poor kids were sweating in their long pants...had to dig out the shorts for soccer practice!

I got that in my email last week. Was quite surprised and wondered where it came from, but I think it had something to do with my signing into the DCL cruise page and staring at my reservation :surfweb: , just to make sure it was real! :beach: I was just making sure I wasn't dreaming:faint:

The weather has been sooooo great today. I had to go to work  but am hoping to get home early and enjoy a few minutes sunshine before the rain sets in again.
