Proud Mom Moment!

Ok, I have to brag a bit about my DD. I am staying up in Bodega to finish up some projects, etc. and wonderful DH went home (even thought he hates to leave it up here) and they are in charge of tonight's routine and the morning routine tomorrow.

Anyhoo, DD just called to let me know that she had cleaned her room, got all of her school work together, (she had been out sick on Wednesday and Thursday and had make up work) her clean PE uniform and was checking in with me to see what she needed to prep for the morning!!

She even made more points by telling me that it was tough being mom, lots to remember, and that she missed me!!:cutie:

What a sweet kid!! Every now and then she really reminds me of how amazing she is!!:lovestruc

good girls come from good moms. Congrats on a job well done :cheer2:

I had a nice Disney fix this weekend. I found out that the Disney Character Warehouse was in town, so asked DH to drive me up there (about 50 miles away). I stocked up on Pirate stuff and especially a great Pirate hat for him to wear on Pirate night. It's the soft kind that looks like a Captains hat with the bandana underneath. They also had some great stuff for under a $ each that would be great as gifts during the cruise. Didn't buy any yesterday but might have to go back! Oh Darn!!
Tina

Where is it? just wondering if it is still open and how far away it is! :) Thanks

I'm absolutely in love with this area and it's my goal to retire there someday. I lived and worked for about 5 months in 1990 at Signal Mountain Lodge in Moran, which is just South of Yellowstone. No way to describe it but unbelievable. Here's a link where you can find some pics that will blow your socks off! http://foreverlodging.com/lodging.cfm?PropertyKey=69

We used to go there every visit for nachos! We loved the nachos in that restaurant:). I do miss the area and hope to visit soon.

I'm bugging DH to tell me his first job....he says picking weeds, mowing lawns, babysitting...real W-2 job, in a auto shop that repaired cyclindar heads (okay whatever):confused3

DrHug's first job was at 10 years old, he set up a ride and then sold tickets and ran the brake that stopped the ride at the carnival that came for the fair. The job only lasted 2 weeks, the carnies wanted to take him and his 13 yo friend with them for the summer on their canival tour. His parents said NO! Wonder why. :confused3

His next job was at 12 yo setting pins at the bowling alley. Now I expect that not many, if any, of you remember when there was not an automated pin setter. They had people who where down there at the end of the alley who would grab the pins and throw them into the rack that would come down and set them. He covered as many as 4 lanes, jumping back and forth over the racks, hoping to not get hit with a ball coming his way.:worried: He worked from after school until midnight. Wonder why his grades suffered. He got fired when he refused to stay until 2 am one night (a school night) when some guys wanted to stay and bowl. :(

Oh, I am having some fun . . .

We are getting quite devious aren't we?!?! I just ADORE it....teehee! By the way, "FLUFF" is the best! Hard to find out here (that brand) but I love it!

Love that name...Thief family reunion! GREAT!

!

I absolutely love Fluff, but cannot find it out here at all  DH had never even heard of it before meeting me! And, I loved the post with the picture of fluff!

WOW! What a great DD:) All that hard work and being a good mom really does pay off?! I'm still waiting for the days of "sassing" mom to end. When did 8 year olds get such attitudes?!

sassing of the 8 year old is our way of getting used to the "mommmmmmmm" you'll here in the year of 9.

what do I need to be expecting in the next year of 10????

wait don't tell me I might want to hide that year out:sad1:

but seriously, Miss Molly is my joy in life. Most of the time she is sweet & loving. Silly & Sassy (in the good way, like Tinkerbell)

I have to remind myself one day she will not grace my day with her presence and will be living in her own world and life, so for now, I'm grabbing it all in and holding on tight.

now that 7 year old boy of mine.....he is just too much like me. I love him and he drives me crazy all in the same moment.... :flower3: :drive: :upsidedow

gotta say good night, can't even keep my eyes open any longer to watch :happytv:

nite (& good morning UK)

Trust me when I say, she is not always an "angel" . Always a princess though!!princess:

She has been a bit "teen sassy" the last year or so, and she is not yet a teen!! :confused3

But for the most part, she really is a lovely little (big) girl! :lovestruc

I am trying to figure out how to get a picture from my cd in the laptop into one of these posts!!

Help me, help me!! :(

Karen, not accustomed to being non-techy!!

Living in the SF bay area, we get a few good ones to...

Female (like Tamale in sound)
Sequoia
Bark
Sierra (very popular in my daughters age group - 12)
Aqua

Hope I'm not offending anyone with kids with these names...;)

Karen

Female--that's a great one! And Bark--goes great with Sequoia & Sierra!:rotfl:

Ok - check this limo bus out: http://www.a1limobus.com/new_limo_bus.htm
The photos aren't great but you get the idea: largest limo bus in Florida! :drive: 50 passengers! party: Between the two hummerized vehicles and this one, we could take the whole crew from MCO! Actually, when our vehicles pull up, those that purchased transfers through Disney will be looking so sad: :sad1: We will wave :wave2: and tell them we will save them a seat at the Mickey Pool :p

That is way KEWL! Imagine arriving at the port in that thing! :cool1:

Jenny Agutter. DrHug says he would love to be on the lam with her.;) :rotfl: :rotfl:
She wore an amazing dress in the film - don't know where her undies were!!

How about the "Thieves" family?
A brilliant name, but I do wonder if a hotel would allow a 'Thieves' group to stay!!:lmao:

I am sorry for my absence and lack of prompt response to all of you this week. It was extraordinarily horrid. I will spare you the details, but between the hospital, pain pills, pain, travel to and from florida including a 24 hour trip home through atlanta during the tornadoes I really was in what I call "survival" mode. Most of it could have been made much easier if I did not believe I was invincible and had not made some really stupid choices, so no one to blame but myself. Word to the wise, and you are all already wise so this is wasted, You don't have to do everything all the time. #2, when the pain is so bad you can't breath, ice probably won't solve the problem.

Anyway, all is well now! I am back for 2 weeks. Back to catching up.

Sounds truly a horrible experience and I think there is so much more to share about this. Glad all is ok now.

Morning all. The dis is about to go down now, so bye for now!:upsidedow

Good morning, Marilyn!

Hope you are having a great morning!!

I am still in Bodega Bay and I am watching a movie while I putter with some paperwork!

Karen

I suppose you can do much of your work from almost anywhere Karen. Bodega Bay looks like the ideal place though!

Would you travel agent be good to do this?

A group name...let's think....the Roy Family Reunion?? Creative Memories conference?? Westbound Cruisers? Anyone??

I like the WALT DISNEY FAMILY REUNION!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We took Sophia to a friend of Amy's party last year, that was a Jimmy Buffet party. Everyone had to dress up, etc. There was a live concert, and the guy had it on a big screen TV and all. When we left he gave us a CD, and Sophia has had that music on her iPod ever since. Her two favorites are Cheeseburger in Paradise, and Fins.

I love this idea for a birthday party. I am going to snatch it for DD10's party in July!!

PM me your address and I will send some to you. I just bought it yesterday at the Giant. It really is very good and the recipe for fudge on the back is awesome!!

This was one of the hardest things for me to figure out on these boards. I am going to send you my cell # via PM and if you want I can walk you though it. I don't think I could write all the instructions down......to confusing for me. I work at home, so call any time before 8pm EST (my bedtime!!)

Dont you wish they had netflix for books?

What a great idea! But, then, I guess that's what the local library is for. Unfortunately, it rarely has what I want...it will order from another branch, but I want what I want NOW!:)
