Bad news...:sad1: They don't have the largest limo bus in Orlando. It is in Miami or something. Anyhoo, we can get this:
http://www.a1limobus.com/jumbo.htm
If I recall, a lot of the people signing up for the Hummers were coming without their children? We could take some youngsters in this one and maybe the the Hummer be more for adults? I think I will be booking this - we are a family of 6 so we have room for 2-4 more families, depending on the size of the family. If ends up just us, my kids will have a blast so no worries! It is $400/one way (I forgot to ask if that included tip - he thought I was pretty crazy calling so early!). Anyway, let's assume it didn't - add $60 so $460. If we got 20 people, it would be $23/each person.
So - if any families want to join us - PM me and let me know! It would be great if another families with under 10 year olds could join so our kids could meet. Don't want to change anyone's plans with the Hummer - I think we will be taking over the Hyatt so we need as many transportation vehicles as possible! So this will be in addition to the already planned 2 Hummers. We actually might need another Hummer! I can just picture it now: we will be like a President's parade driving down to the Port! What time does everyone plan on being at the port? 10am? I was thinking of picking up at 9am but maybe that is too early.

Speaking of the Hyatt:
I called. For a small group, they only reserve a year in advance. I asked what was considered small, and they said less than 40 rooms. I don't think we have 40 do we? They do have a conference room to do a breakfast. I can't wait until we hit the 12 month mark! So many more things we can plan!

that is awesome...I can just picture the DISers motorcade rolling into the port. we need something lime green to hang on the outside!

Love the idea/picture of the DIS motor cavalcade! All waving our lei's with our DOD! Cool!:rotfl:

Getting behind on this thread again. :(

My first job was at Dairy Queen. Yummy ice cream!

Pets: We have two cats. A black kitty named Sasha and a calico named Nala. They are both getting older and now have some health issues but they are still great cats.

I had a cat named Sasha too. She passed on in 2001 after having a stroke. We adopted her from the local shelter as a kitten in 1988. We also have a cat named Squat. She got her name because she "squated" on our property as a kitten. She must have wanted to live with us, because she would leave me those wonderful kitty gifts on my porch. I started feeding her and then figured she wasn't going anywhere so we got her fixed and she has been with us for the last 10 years.

My first job was working with the Forest Service. It was a summer job. We did things like repairs to camping areas and hiking trails, building fire breaks etc.

I have found a 40 person bus at and spoke with the rep:
http://www.orlandolimorental.com/jumbo.htm

The cost for 40 person would be $47.50 per person. What do you guys think? Total cost would be $1900. I would give them a 25% deposit and balance would be do that day. They could pick us up at Hyatt at 9AM to get us to port by 10:00. Let me know.

Too true.

LiserAnn....I SWEAR I saw Fluff at Albertsons last week. I'll check again. I can make a DISdelivery in May!

That's where I believe I found it at!

I think it's Kaylee (fourmcds) that can't find it...somehow when disneylover quoted her, my name showed as the quotee, but it was really Kaylee. :confused3 Computers.......

What a crazy Monday here at my house. My DS 9 is home sick. He had a fever last night 99.5, no fever today. :sad1: Unfortunately, he missed out on great a field trip, to the one room school house today! Plus, I was suppose to be helping out at the school library, I had to call and cancel again. I volunteer at the library every Monday, but will 4 kids it seems like someone has been sick every Monday for weeks. :crazy2: I think next year, I need to pick a different day. :scratchin

First jobs

I saw that everyone was talking about first jobs over the weekend.
My first job was a summer paper route at 12. I worked for my dad at his Oregonian Distributorship, I did this off and on until I was 22.

My first really job...I went college and got a degree in Early Childhood Education. I worked in the child care field until I had my 2nd child. I always wanted to be at home with my children and as soon as we could afford it, I quite my job. I have been a stay at home mom for 11 years. Last year my baby went to Kindergarten. Which gave me more time to volunteer at the school...which I love doing!:thumbsup2

Pets

We use to have 2 labradoodles (2004). Spot and Molly , but couldn't keep them because my both DS's were allergic to them. My DD 7, Katie, was completely heart broken!!

This is not the first group to bad mouth me, and they won't be the last, but they ALL live to regret it!! Ask my friends ex husbands...they all remember the last time they had a run in with me...some of them can even speak of it without twitching or losing bladder control....you never mess with Aunty Brat :scared:

We have a friend, Mike, he could make the guys in the squadron "quiver and pee on the floor." :rotfl:

Ok - some help needed for the bracelets!

The place I'm looking at has a minimum order of 250/size!! So, unless someone has another company I can look into, it looks like we'd have to go w/ the medium size....(as this is the majority of sizes needed)

We have 2 options for styles - please let me know which one you'd prefer, and we'll go with majority rules..

1. http://goodsforgiving.com/w-dc.html (color light green)
2. http://goodsforgiving.com/w-p.html (light green band color, either white or black for the Text color)

Want to make sure this is ok for the bracelets....please give me your opinions.

Side 1 - either:
(skull/crossbones) 5/10-5/25/2008 (skull/crossbones) OR
(skull/crossbones) May 10-25, 2008 (skull/crossbones)

Side 2 - DM Ship of Thieves

Any thoughts??????

(there are some bands on sale but look like just 1 size too, and colors aren't what we'd want).

wow - lots to catch up on I see!!

First job - I think the first one I received a paycheck for was Victoria's Secret...but I spent it as soon as I got it with that 30% off....this was in high school.

Pets - one dog now, Gator a rottie. We did have 2 but Lilly died last year (?)...Gator is her pup. No other pets and I don't want any more. Our house is crazy enough!

That´s great! I highlighted our choices, but in the end will go with the majority.

Kim,

Any help here with where you got the last ones?

Ahhh...thanks for the clarification. Think it's me, though. I was trying to SpeedDIS before jumping in the shower (TMI, I know) BEFORE sissy woke up. She's usually my alarm clock, but I beat her this morning. Simple pleasures...

Carolyn

Yeah, Kim.

I think she had a overall min. order, but was able to mix and match sizes.

ibouncetoo organized ours last time. You could check with her, too.

Here's the company most of the DIS groups have used:

http://www.reminderband.com/

They do orders in increments of 20, have three sizes. The bands in green (lime-ish) with glow in the dark letter fill are about $2.00 each.

Hi all,

I haven't been on the boards in a couple of weeks. Between my kid's multiple episodes of strep throat and my father-in-law getting a new liver life has been a little crazy. All are doing well now and my FIL is home and the new liver is working well.

Thanks to all who offerred their suggestions for my DH who is not as excited with Disney as the rest of us. He's not a bad guy -just lacking the magic. I am hoping that he will have a wonderful time on our cruise and turn around a little. Hopefully, when you all meet him you can overlook his faults :rotfl2:

We took the kids to NYC yesterday to see Tarzan. It was awesome!!! I am taking DD back on Wednesday to see Beauty and the Beast. If anyone is interested in seeing it on Broadway I read that it closes in July. The Little Mermaid is opening in its place in November (official opening December). That will be a must for us!!

I don't think I can keep up with all of you but I will try to check in as often as possible to see what is going on. Wish I could be more participatory but I am much better in person.

Hi Lisa,
I'm not usually able to keep up with you guys but I am glad I looked today! We would be interested in a bus transportation. We don't have a motel yet but if everyone else is staying at the Hyatt MCO, we might look into getting a room there. There would be six of us, myself, husband, 2 dds 6 & 3 and my parents. We were looking at hiring something to get us down to the port but if people with kids wanted to do something like that, we'd be interested. Anyway, I'll pm you to let you know.
My family thinks I am crazy for planning this stuff so far ahead but it's soooooo much fun!
Jolene

At this point, I think there are 56 people interested in either the limo or the bus. So, even if the 50 seater was available, it would be too small! Calmom (Lisa) did anyone else PM you????

I know that Happy limo only has 2 hummer's in it's fleet. They do have the 28 seater bus that PJ posted and then they have a excursion limo as well. The bus that is available is 40 person, is that right? and that wouldn't need an extra luggage vehicle.

The Hummer was about 21.00 pp plus tip and the bus was 48.00 pp plus tip (is that right Noel?)

So, without making this too confusing or taking up too many posts....we need to figure out what we want to do. My biggest concern with just doing the bus would be that not everyone is ready to leave at the same time(not to mention there are too many people). I think we are better off doing a few vehicles to handle those arriving that am. I think we would all love to leave at 9am from MCO but I am not sure everyone will be there by then.

Here is the list that I have so far....

LimoA
fourmcds 4
birkner 2
liserann 4
mexicanm. 3
tiggerhappy 2
been2marc. 3
kymma 2 TOTAL: 20

LimoB
wldmcnwmn 2
clynne 4
nsjerven 4
Talph. 3
lwilliam 2
UKangel 2
Tigger1221 2 TOTAL: 19

LimoC
Calmom 6
Willoughbyclan 7
disneylover5 2
txsleepingbeauty 2 TOTAL: 17

The groupings were just my way of keeping track of the numbers...we could combine 2 of the "limos" into the one bus and then head to the port with 1 bus and 1 limo? That would be 20 in one limo and then 36 in the bus with room for 4 more. :drive:

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? :upsidedow
