My first pet as an adult, my first baby, another border collie, is the name sake of my DD (or the other way around) Her name was Cowdog, nicknamed Molly Moo Cow...we lost her suddenly in August '96 at 10 years old, Molly was conceived unexpectedly October '96 (just 6 weeks before our wedding)...I believe that there was some soul swaping going on in heaven. Miss Molly was named after Cowdog. They had/have the same beautiful red fur/hair and the same gentle sweet loving heart. (9 years later I'm sitting here crying over my missing of my sweet dog) In my mind's eye Cow is running in the hills in Jackson Hole, WY at a place we call Howling Dog Tree. In reality Molly is sitting next to me (yikees its after 10:30 pm here) laughing over cartoons. Life is good :goodvibes

nite all.
Beautiful! Sorry about your loss. It is hard to lose your pet suddenly and unexpectedly. I love Jackson Hole - only been once about 10 years ago and had a great time.

Here's a list of our furry children:
  • A.J. - our indestructible 16 year old cat. He's the Keith Richards of the cat world. He cannot be killed by conventional means.

  • :lmao: That's a great one!

Here's a picture of me and Bear at the dog park yesterday.

    0 degree wind chill!
Bear looks like a sweetie! I love that you rescued him from a shelter.

Bodega Bay

Ok, have awoken from my "blond moment day" (I really am a natural blond, so I can say this!!! A few white hairs have made their way into my coif lately... not ready to be white headed yet!!)

Anyhoo... I forgot that since our home in Bodega Bay is rented out, we have a web site that let's you see both the house and the view!!

Here is the URL:
http://www.vacationrentalsusa.com/PAGES/Homespages/BHHomes/memory_maker/memory_maker.html

There are two photos that are not our home in this...

Third row far left and second to last row in the middle. You can also see more of Bodega Bay by clicking on "home" at the bottom and then "activities" and then "activities links"

Sorry to have lost my mind for a bit there...

Karen

WOW! I just love it. It must be so great to relax there. Lisa

. We're watching Logan's Run on the TV. The city always reminds me of the Soarin pavilion.!!:)

Ah, it is an oldish UK film, so you may not have ever seen it. It has become one of those cult films!

Here too. "The only thing you can't have, is your 30th birthday." Fell in love with Michael York and been a fan ever since.

As it has gone on of course I see it is meant to be set in Washington and there are loads of US accents. Farrah Fawcett is in it.

Ok, I don't have an ipod. Doubt I would use it if I had one, I am still a fan of my xm and good ol' radio and cd's!!

Karen

This is exactly what I thought. DrHug (DH) has to have every new gadget though. So, he bought an Ipod, I told him how silly he has the cd's just turn them on. :sad2: However, while he was at work one day, I tried out his Ipod :ssst: :music: :rockband: :dancer: . He came home and found me vacumming and :dancer: :dancer: . He :lmao: at me and then bought me my own for an early Christmas present. It really is nice to not have to haul the cd's with us when we take a roadtrip.:drive:

I should have gotten your job instead! Would have been much more interesting for a 16 year old boy! Of course, it may not have been much more different than packing bags . . .:lmao:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We got Lexi last Christmas, and Sophia was almost 6. Sophia is a very popular Greek name. In Greek, Sophia means Wisdom. I had an aunt Sophia, but we named Sophia because we liked the name, and she was baptized in the Orthodox church as was her brother Alexander. As an Aside, my father's name is Alexander, and my grandfather was John. It is the Greek tradition to name your firstborn son after your father.

My dd´s full name is Estrella (star) Sofía and when the priest baptized her he said that she has to live uf to her name since it meant "astro de la sabiduría" (astro is a generic for star and sabiduría is wisdom, as you already mentioned); at the moment I thought "oh no! poor dd what have I done to her?" lol

The internet is wonderful isn't it? Amazing we can all talk together, albeit at different times of our days! Yes, 4.29pm at the moment. We're watching Logan's Run on the TV. The city always reminds me of the Soarin pavilion.!!:)

We loved that movie! And yes, the Soarin' pavilion at Epcot does look like the city. I never thought of that though as it has been several years since we have watched LR. We do have it on DVD.

Reminds me of the fortune my 4 yr old got the other night after chinese dinner: "You are considered lucky among the chosen ones" - he spend the rest of the night telling his older brothers (6 and 9): "I am the chosen one." Drove them nuts!

Better to have a name like that to live up to than some of the others I've come across over the years! For instance, I had a (girl) student whose name was Harley--yes, like the motorcycle. Unfortunately, she lived up to her name as long as I knew her, through 5th grade. Then there was another girl whose name was "Taylr" (not a typo). She had reading problems--what a surprise! Then there was the second grader named "Balthazar Avatar"--enough said! This was many years ago--long before "Apple" was a popular child's name. Maybe his parents were inspired by Frank Zappa, though!:hippie:

Okay, it is 12:46am on the East Coast and I need to get up at 6am for church. (I don't think I have told you guys my DH is a minister...that is a different story)...

Anyway, I never stay up this late. Right now there are 8 seventeen year olds in our media room playing xbox.....much rather have them here....keep lots and lots of teenage foods around....but that is a different story as well.

I was thinking about Lisa's (CALMOM) friend and I wanted to spend some time before sleep and really pray for her. Then I thought I would check out web prayer chain and see if anyone there needed any prayers.

Dear friends of ours with 2 little boys.....their oldest was attacked by a rabid Raccoon.....the Raccoon attacked him in their back yard this evening and his leg was all torn up. He is at the hospital right now and they are doing whatever it you need to do to start the Rabies treatment. His name is Stephen....and he is 7 years old. If you are lead, please pray for him this evening.....I understand this is a very difficult treatment.....

Thank goodness the seventeen year olds went home at about 3am. They really are good kids and I feel so much better knowing they are in a safe place.

Stephen was in church this morning. When I hugged him his dad said he was VERY Brave....and then Stephen looked up at me and said "No Way, I was NOT Brave"..it was funny.

They stitched up his leg and then he did have to start the shots for rabies. He has to have 5 shots over the next 14 days. The shots are now in the arm and not in the stomach. They have not found the raccoon.

My mom lived in Jackson Hole for about 10 years. She moved to be closer to me and dd's when my oldest was 2 (2001). I loved it there, but right around the time she was moving it was getting very built up and snooty like Vail. Haven't been back since, but i miss the scenery, the hiking, the skiing, and the weather. I loved their thunderstorms, they were so amazing.

Glad to hear hear he is doing ok. 5 shots over 14 days is still a lot, but it is better than the "older" way which was 7 shots in the abdomen all at once. Poor guy. Sounds like he is in good spirits though.

Would you dress like a Disney princess for your wedding?

Just what you always wanted for your wedding day: to be a princess. Thanks to a new initiative from Disney, that dream could become a reality. The company has recently introduced a series of dresses fashioned after their fictional cartoon heroines.

In a Wall Street Journal interview, designer Kristie Kelly says Cinderella is "classic glamour," Snow White has "sweet elegance," Ariel from The Little Mermaid has a "sultry allure" and is "comfortable showing her body," and Jasmine from Aladdin is "bohemian chic."

I'll never be able to watch The Little Mermaid the same way again.

Would you wear Disney on your wedding day?

Anyone else hear anything about this? It was a blip on aol's top headlines this am. There weren't any pictures. I would love to see what they are coming up with!

I love it :cool1: You certainly don't mind :stir: do you?! :) We'll have to see what they have to say to that on their board and if any of them come over here! :rotfl:

Boy, their thread moves sloooooooooow. Now it's on 6892. And not too many banners in their siggies. Maybe they need better leadership? :rotfl2:

Some newbie to the thread commented that there was too much to catch up on. Good thing he/she is going West and not East! :rotfl2:

Page 2471 . . .

Just in case you guys are curious about how "cheeky" our friends on the EB can be! :rolleyes1
