Thank you! Well, after 3 doses of strong antibiotic, 1 dose of Tylenol for fever, he woke up this morning feeling like his normal, crazy, 4yr old self. Says his throat hurts a little, but is acting completely normal, but doc says he'll be contagious until being on antibiotic for 24 hours, so no daycare/preschool today. He's thrilled about having an extra day with me. Work isn't really happy with me because we're always short-handed, but that's not my problem. ;)

After WW tonight, I actually plan on going to the gym too! Not sure if I'll be that ambitious, but we'll see. Maybe WW will inspire me so much, I'll be thrilled to go work out. Ummm.....wait a minute....."thrilled" and "work out" do not belong in the same sentence! :rotfl2:

Can you say "oximoron"? I totally agree that they don't belong in the same sentence.

Here's a picture I just took looking out from our backyard:

As much as I hate snow and winter, sometimes it does make things very pretty. I like how this morning's misty sleet makes everything look "impressionist". And the snow looks very pretty on the trees. And the lake looks great now that all the ice houses are gone. (Yesterday was the last day to have ice houses on the lakes here.)

We got 2 inches of snow last night and are getting another foot of snow tonight. We got a foot of snow last weekend too. Oh well... spring is coming.... eventually.

What lake are you near? I have been to Lake Mille Laks and it was lovely but it was in the summer.

Our DD has been home sick the last 2 days with possible strep throat. Always throws my sork off too, but she does come first. My DSis helps out and will have her over even when she is sick as she has her own room at my DSis' house and can rest in there. I'm so lucky to have my DSis so close by, really is helpful since we don't have any other family around, (or still living in the case of our parents. :sad2:

My middle DD use to get strep all the time. Your poor DD!! I hope she feels better!!

:surfweb:

We are still thinking about where we will stay the night before the cruise, but if we do stay at the Hyatt MCO, I think we would love to be hummerized with the rest.

I suppose the hummerizers will pick up bright and early at the hotel, right? Would love to be at the port early.

I'm with you on wanting to be at port early. Last cruise we made it late (DCL transport frpm AKL) and I never even got to look at the mini cruise ship....I must see it this time for about 2 or 3 hours I figure....ok at least 15 minutes....

Also love to read, but can't find a groove in finding an author I like these days. We (DH & I) are doing HP #5 on cd in the car but only get to listen when we take a trip, last summer Jackson Hole, last month to Dland....next time planned not sure :confused3 I'd like to hear more but feel like I'd be cheating DH outta enjoying it, so I wait.

Here's the little sickie....sorry if I posted this already! I posted it on another thread for the cruise he's joining me on, so I'm assuming I didn't put it on here since he won't be coming. :upsidedow

As I said in an ealier post, I am crazy for early Elizabeth Peters because of her use of polysyllabic words. I am so tired of authors "writing" down to their public. I guess that is why I am such a fan of movies made in the 1930's through the 1950's when dialogue was king.

If I have a vote as a Hummerizer, let's get there early!! I use to go to Jackson Hole in the 1970's and early 80's before it became so popular. I even remember when they had the first women on the ski patrol there.

Today I get my stitches out from my bunion surgery. So I will be able to shower without a plastic bag over my foot. Hooray!

We did get a nice pack of information from DCL that included a postcard from Mickey. I showed it to DH and he wasn't very impressed but I was thrilled lol.

I can't decide where to stay before the cruise in Florida. I can't imagine going all the way there and not at least spending a day at WDW but the cruise is so long it will use up all of DH's vacation time. Maybe I will make do with a night at a Disney hotel and dinner at downtown Disney.

I can totally relate with the bunion surgery! I hated taking a bath with my foot out of the tub (not a bath person, unless I can soak with bubbles! :rolleyes1

Worse thing I did was getting out of the tub and wacked my surgery foot against the door jam!! Double Ouch!!! :scared:

Night to all and good morning (soon) to all the UK DISers. I have an early flight in the morning so I will check in later in the day.

I got back the final quote....:cool1:
$396.00 plus tip from MCO to port (this includes a luggage van)

$453.00 plus tip from typical WDW resort.

They have 2 hummers in their fleet. I can reserve them now. Since there seems to be a large interest in getting to the port this way, please PM if you are interested, from where and how many in your party. Let's see what the numbers look like and we can go from there...

From the posts, and I realize none of this is set in stone....it looks like these are the ones who might be interested....and if I missed you, I am sorry:guilty: it is hard to catch everything in all these posts, but please PM me

from MCO (if do red eye or stay at Hyatt)
Fourmcds x4
Birkner x2
LiserAnnx4
Mexican Mousketeers x3
UKAngel x2
Also, and maybe from WDW
Granmaz
Clynne
Kymma
not sure how many in those groups.

Of course the question for some of you traveling without kids...would you mind kids in the Hummer with you or do we want to try and split into family one and adult one?
If there are enough people that def. want in, I have no problem reserving it now. It takes a cc number to hold the reservation, but you can cancel up to 1 week before. I would think if we set up a 9 or 10 am departure from MCO that would allow most red eyes to arrive and those sleeping there to get up and still get us to the port early. :cheer2:

Thoughts?

here is the description from the website:

It also says somewhere something about a dance floor!

And...has anyone used Happy Limo? The website says they are listed in the Passporter.

we love, not like, love, Happy Limo!! We have used them on our last 3 trips to WDW and have nothing but GREAT things to say about them!! Count us in, for now, on the red eye group!!

That's exactly what I finally learned when I went on the cruise with Cindy in January. It was strange, but really relaxing to have the opportunity to try to remember how to be me again instead of mom for a short time. A co-worker once told me that her daughter's pediatrician told her the best thing a parent can do for their kid(s) is to take a break once in a while and just be an adult for a bit and then come back refreshed and ready to be a good parent! :thumbsup2

We have always been fortunate enough to travel with or without our DD. First, when my parents were still alive, and now my sister watches her when we go. They are best friends! :hippie:

We are heading up to the Russia River Wine country for Barrel Tasting this weekend and she will be with my sister. We have done this for 10 years and have such a lovely time together, and now, with our wine shop, we build some great relationships with the wineries!:woohoo:

Julie,

I enjoy reading your posts too. How I wish I would have learned Spanish in High School. I took French, and it is but a memory now, but I am confident that if I get to France again (went when I was in High School) that I could gain a lot back quickly.

I learned Greek as my first language - Mom immigrated from Greece and dad was Greek. With mom gone now, even my Greek is getting a bit rusty. They dont speak Greek much in this part of the world!:rotfl2:

Are any of you big readers?

I enjoyed Dan Brown's books for fun reading, and found another author in a similar vein - Steven Berry. I am now reading "The Alexandria Link". Fun reading. This is the last of his books - I've read the other three in the last several weeks.

It has been non-stop rain here all day! The snow is almost all gone.

John,

I love Dan Brown and Clive Cussler as well as Michael Connolly and Lee Child. Not your "average" chick novels, but hey, I love them!!

I will look for a Steven Berry book, what is the first one? I always like to start at "the beginning".

Karen

:lmao:

Thank you for putting us in the list. Dh and I were talking and we are definetly staying at the Hyatt MCO the night before. I don´t know if they carry kids boosters or not, but we will be carrying our ride safer vest for dd, so there is no need to reserve a booster for her.

Someone mentioned a grocery stop, is it possible? We are interested even if it is not possible, but would like to know, you know how important is to know 14 months in advance whether we will need to buy water off the internet or not, LOL

Purchasing a case (or two) of water on the ship was not outrageous, but I really miss my Dr. Pepper. So we always have Happy Limo stop at a store and we pick it up for WDW, it would be nice to do it for the ship as well.

Karen

I agree!!! Just finished the Alexandria Link by Berry and very good book. Also, don't forget about alternate history books, sci-fi where vampires and witches are real and do exist!!!

But... aren't they? And wizards too?:upsidedow

Karen

And...has anyone used Happy Limo? The website says they are listed in the Passporter.

Kaylee-sounds great to us, count on us!!! I was just reading last night in the passporter about happy limo....they love them so I trust Jennifer and Dave Marx, they're usually right on.

Let me know if you need $$ to book it and find out what their cancellation policies are, just so we don't have a problem if we need to make a changed.

Thanks for checking into this! :thumbsup2

I like our group, we are more like the tortise group to their hare group. However, you know how the tortise and the hare story turned out!! We get to win the race as we sail first!!

I agree, I like our pace much more. I don't know how one could keep up the pace, would make it very hard to get to "know" one another. I'm glad we're the way we are!!!

We are also considering staying at the Hyatt the night before, so we would be very interested in joining you on the Hummerzine. There are two of us, so please count us in !! Sounds like fun..:thumbsup2

Hi Lucy!!!! Is the Hyatt at MCO? I wish we could come in the night before but I really don't think it'll be possible....so be prepared to see my "red" eyes!

I learned Greek as my first language - Mom immigrated from Greece and dad was Greek. With mom gone now, even my Greek is getting a bit rusty. They dont speak Greek much in this part of the world!:rotfl2:

Greek was my first language too and I'm VERY rusty. I understand most of it, but I don't speak it at all. I'm very embarrased by my pronounciation. So John-we should *try* to talk in greek!

Julie-you said you have an accent...well, I'm sure John and I will feel right at home with you...since both our moms immigrated from Greece, they too had/have accents. In fact, during the German occupation of Greece-WWII, my grandfather moved the family to South America (so yes, my mom is fluent in greek, spanish and english). They moved because it seems my grandmother got thrown in jail for helping german soldiers who were against the war, get out of the army. Apparently she wouldn't stop and he was afraid she'd eventually be taken to a concentration camp! Interesting story there!

Happy Limo does offer a grocery stop, and that's a great idea because we wanted to get water beforehand also. Can you imagine, 20 people piling out of a hummer...that's a camera moment!

I cannot believe I was the only one on the thread tonight....so I'm off to bed. Night all!
