The fish extender looks great. Thanks so much for making them. When do you want payment?

Decorating will not be my forte, but I will be out and about looking for what I can use.

Going to be fun seeing them around the ship and popping goodies in the pockets.

How do we know how many treats to get? Will we be posting how many people have fish extenders, the ages of the kids (if any) once we get closer to the cruise so we know how many of stuff to bring? This will be fun! Lisa

I guess numbers may change, but there are 97+ groups of people in this group, some with more than one room!!!! I don't suppose all will have the fish extenders, otherwise the gift prices will add up!!:)

Wow - for sure buying in bulk then! Lisa

Noel,
Ran into two other Woodside families here at Northstar - kids are in school with mine. Have you already flown back home? We are staying until Friday and think we will be driving home in the storm. But I want some more snow before we leave! Our cabin is on the golf course, and we could be golfing instead of building a snow man with the lack of snow!
Lisa

I've arranged for group photos on the last 4 or 5 cruises we have been on. Here's the picture of our group on Pirate night during the 2005 PC cruise I arranged. If you would like me to take care of that for this cruise, I would be happy to do so.

That would be great! I'd love to have a photo like that! Thanks!:goodvibes

O.k. I did some research and for leis- Lillygator Lime heads-Liserann and bracelets is mishoe01. Who was going to do the Lanyards and Name-tags? Am I right about this?

Ok gang! It appears there are some folks who'll be at DLR at the third week of May. Cheri-I think you said you'd be there 5/21 and 5/22 and Angie and Dennis will be there 5/19 - 5/27.

So I was thinking that would be a good time to have a DIS Meet for those who can make it. I would suggest somewhere in Downtown Disney (someone suggested Storyteller's which is great) as opposed to in the parks--that way those who don't have passes won't have to spend a fortune if they don't want to go into the the parks.

How does 5/21 or 5/22 in the evening look? PM me if you're interested and indicate your day preference. And for those who are wondering/interested, I'll still plan on a Temecula Winery DISMeet as well, I just thought I'd take advantage of the fact that some DISers will already be at DL in May.

Let's get this DISMeets ball rolling!!! :thumbsup2

Would love to meet up at DL for a mini-meet. Just have a problem with the date though. I'll be enjoying a day on the sea on 5/21 and in Cadiz Spain on 5/22. I'll think of you all while on the Magic on the way to Barcelona!

:goodvibes

Interested, yes. Not really up for the percent challenge, but Jackie's Scoop Away the Pounds thread from our double dip REALLY helped me keep myself honest. !

Carolyn

Yep, our small group lost over 220 pounds. 'Checking in' really does make a difference.

Did you hit the mail on the head for me on this one. Fish extenders, leis, boas, bracelets, scrapbooking, Bunko, and Skipbo. What else am I forgetting? Not to mention who is coordinating what and what have I commited to? Maybe I should be commited. :lmao: Don't answer that PlutoBrat!!!!
Corrine

I won't say anthing.....:rolleyes1

I'm just trying to catch up...
Heads up! I send you an email with the blank design files.

IF ANYONE WANTS A DESIGN, PLEASE :jumping3: PM ME :jumping3: !!!! I probably won't find it in the thread because I don't check it often enough. I still have to read through 6 pages out of around 15.

Ok John! Sounds like lots of interest. Can you share what you did before with posting? That would be great. Lisa

I will try to do that later tonight, but may not get to it until the weekend. I have a school board meeting tonight, and all the info is on my laptop at home.

We should think about this . . . I think some people on our last cruise felt "pressured" to make sure that they did something nice for everyone. With 97 cabins, this may be hard for everyone . . . and, you can ship the stuff to the port, but then you have to haul it all home . . .

I am going to make a suggestion . . . how about if we come up with 15 things - one for each night of the trip? The leis could be one, the lanyards another. Make them nice things that those who are interested could contribute to instead of 97 other things. Whoever wants to volunteer and come up with the ideas can be responsible for getting the stuff and distribution. We could all end up with some nice things to remind us of the cruise. No one would go broke or crazy trying to come up with 97 different ideas that were cost effective. (one idea that I liked from our last cruise was a deck of cards with our cruise date and info on it - another one could be a custom Christmas ornament). Things that someone may not be able to buy individually for everyone, but they could afford to contribute so that they could have a keepsake.

This would also keep the kids (and the kid in all of us) happy for each night's "surprise". We have 15 months to come up with creative ideas, and this is a very talented group. The "fish extenders" is what gave me the idea for this approach.

In addition to that, everyone could bring a card or something like that for each cabin that they could distribute, maybe with a picture of their family and name, with email addresses, etc. so that those who want to keep in touch can, and it could also be something for a scrapbook.

This is just a suggestion. I know we went nuts trying to figure out what to bring, and I felt bad for those who thought they "had" to bring something to exchange.

Any thoughts?

Wow! That is great. How did the thread work? Was it a new thread under Cruise meet or did you keep it within the larger one? Maybe it would be good to have one just for this challenge? I'm anxious to hear John's suggestions as well. This will be fun - although I'm not starting today. Still on vacation - had a big bowl of spaghetti for lunch! But March 1st would be perfect. Lisa

Hmmmm....

I sense a money-making opportunity for myself.

Let's see--Me: 35 years experience as a first grade teacher and elem. school reading specialist, :teacher: retired about a year... A ship full of kids cutting school ... parents facing homework and conducting ship-board school...

I could probably get about $350 an hour, especially toward the last few days when those homework packets are hardly touched! Wait, maybe $450...

Don't all PM me at once!!!

PS
JUST KIDDING!!!!!!

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

I don't think you should be kidding. Do you know how much I would pay to have a trained professional do homework with DD on the cruise!!! You could pay for several spa dates that way!!

Yeah, that's me too!

DARN - I was SO ready to hit the PM button!

OK - on the last cruise I tried to do something that fell apart - maybe there was not enough time . . . I came up with a spreadsheet for percentage of weight loss, and we had a "challenge" to see who could lose the most percentage of weight (that way no one is embarrassed by how much they weigh). I was going to give awards and everything, and post weekly results, but it fell apart . . . anyone interested?
Yes! I think that would definitely help motivate us!

Hi Everyone,
I just thought I would finally chime in and give you all a hello:wave2:
and post my idea for something to do.
I thought it would be fun to have a bush dancing class on a sea day, since we have so many of them! I am a dance teacher by trade and had my final class in December and am already missing it! I learned to do bush dancing while I was living in Australia and loved it!!!
It is a great ice-breaker for get togethers where people don't know each other. It is very easy to do, you don't need to be a professional dancer. Most of the dances are where you line up, boys on 1 side, girls on the other and meet in the middle. It is especially fun after you have had a few drinks, then the creativity flows!
So how about it, anyone interested in learning to dance like the Aussies do???
Jolene

Oooh! Oooh! Me! Me! ....... Oh, and by the way....WELCOME! :yay:

That would be my problem too Holly, so you're not alone. I need to muster up my willpower. I know what to do and how to do it, I just need to stick to it and I know that all starts with me...no one can teach me that! Such is life, but I hear your pain, believe me.

I am up for a weight loss challenge...! I really need something to get me motivated. I am a lifetime WW member who is 29 pounds away from my goal weight. WOW! How awful! And in reality my weight gain has completely changed how I am around people and how I feel about myself...:( But I will be back to being V skinny before May 2008....! (I hope!)

I thought you already were skinny V. 29 pounds? Girl, you would fall through the cement cracks!

Congrats on the 33 pounds! That is awesome. I lost some after my 4th boy (in preparation for my 20th high school reunion!) but still have a ways to go. I'm looking forward to having a weekly check-in! Lisa

I don't own a scale. When I am in trouble at the dr's, I go on a hard core diet and wiegh in there every other week. That will keep you honest!! I should be on one now, but at one time, I was 96 pounds more than I am today so I think the dr is just grateful.
