Yes, please PM me with your DIS name and cabin number if you'd like a lime green Mickey head magnet!
Yes, it was raining most of the afternoon and changed to snow around 5:30 (I live in No. AZ). We got maybe an inch or two but it didn't last long. I love it when it rains--sounds weird, unless you're a Zonie. I heard once that AZ is the only place where people GO OUTSIDE when it rains! It's true!![]()
Morning Karen ( belated good morning!)Monring everyone

Hi Karen, know what you mean as I have my own 'billion to one' little girl (not so little now as she's nearly 19) Just makes them all the more special doesn't it?

I guess the correct confirmation will arrive any day!
Would be interested to know the Dis tag that you play. The one that we played on the 11 night SC just consisted of 3 different Mickey icons (we had three going to all staterooms) with the names and stateroom numbers on the front and these were put on a door. If you got one you signed the back marked off your stateroom number and took it to one that wasn't marked off.

I am usually up to say Good Morning to our UK bunch!
Saw on sports tonight that both of our bay area teams are at spring training in AZ and it looks cold and rainy. Are you experiencing "our weather" in your neck of the woods?
So Vanessa-are you telling me I got myself into a mess by offering to make these magnets?!![]()
Hopefully not!! That's why I'm asking for those who want one to PM me with their cabin number (it won't be on the mickey head, just their DIS name). My plan is for the boys and I to deliver them to each cabin. I figured we'd make it a fun activity AND good exercise (no elevators for this one)!!!!
no- my problem was I made it for everyone in the family and so many people were upgraded, changed cabins etc and I didn't have a good list to go by....
How cool that you and DH met through the DIS first! I hope that happens to me too!Hmmmmm....maybe I should be looking for a DCL singles thread.
lol....it was very very cool indeed....sometimes we have to wait quite a while to meet our soul mates!(and kiss a few frogs along along the way to meet our 'prince'!

I want to be like your mom when I grow up...if I have to grow up, that is!God bless her for still going strong! My mom didn't live as long and her health was very poor the last several years, but she still had her spunk! In fact...she was the reason we (my sisters and I) went on our first Disney cruise.
My youngest sister (almost 10 years younger) didn't have her first (and only) child until she was almost 40. That meant that my mom's youngest grandchild was many years younger than his cousins. He came along after my mom's health had already begun to fail and she was never able to spend the time with him and do things for him like she had done for her other grandchildren. But he was the light of her life during her final years (he'd just turned 5 when she passed away).
She would often say, "You know what would be so much fun...if we (meaning my sisters and her) could all take Dylan on a Disney cruise." And we'd always agree and talk about maybe some day, when she was feeling better we could do that. Sadly, that day never came...in fact, my mom passed early in the morning the day of my nephew's 5th birthday party. The party went on as scheduled, as we all agreed that that was what my mom would have insisted on.
Fast forward about a year to spring 2004. After mom's estate was settled, we sisters decided that we should go on the cruise in Mom's memory. It was planned and it was me, my sister a couple of years younger (whose kids by now were grown), my youngest sister and her son. The reservations were made, the deposits paid and then...
my sister next younger breaks her foot! But wait...a few weeks later, I find out that my foot was broken, too! (I'd been walking around on it for about 6 weeks, wondering why it hurt so much). So 2 of us have broken feet!We thought about canceling, but decided to go for it!
So we switched to a handicapped room so there would be room for my wheelchair and my sister's ECV, and carried on.
We took along a picture of my mom and kept it on the little desk in the stateroom. We had a wonderful time--of course. There were some advantages to being in a party of 4, 2 of which were handicapped. We were the very first ones on the ship and among the first off at the end. We were very well taken care of by everyone. I spent A LOT of time in the spa, since the pool and swimming were out. It was the first time ever that the 3 of us sisters had done any kind of extended trip as adults, and it could be a long time before we do anything like it again.
And it all happened because my mom had a dream...and we carried it out.![]()

Secret Mickey - Like Secret Santa...you submit names and then someone draws names and sends info out and you send secret gifts and treats to that person. I have also played it where you did it on the ship and left goodies in the fish extenders.
