He said by law, they had to spend at least twenty minutes with the applicants reviewing. The other twenty-five minutes was because he was just plain SLOW.

Although I have to say when I got ours back in 2005, we were in and out maybe 30 minutes tops and there was 1 person in line ahead of us. We had all the paperwork filled out, pictures, etc. The person ahead of us didn't. Handed them forms, told them to fill them out and get back in line. Then said next, we were up and done. The longest part was verifying my ID and my Ex's (who thankfully showed up) against the birth certificate so they could issue my daughters. I am lucky that her PP doesn't expire until 9/2008, and I am just going to wait until 10/2008 when she is 16 and renew hers as an adult. Then we don't need my ex and it will be good for 10 years!!! After that she can pay for her own!!! :cool1:

Ok, I have been playing with the idea of doing the Med repo in May because the rates are sooooo cheap, but the airfare was horrible. Well, the prices have dropped and what it comes down to, is that for $2300 including the cruise, airfare and tips my girlfriend and I could do a cat 12 on the Med repo!!! Am I crazy? I can get the vacation time and do my Alaska cruise at the end of June too. What do you think? :confused3

My mother would say, "Fifty years from now...will you be sorry you spent that money...or...glad that you decided to GO FOR IT???" I know what I'd do!!!:thumbsup2

Ok, right now I am a go, and my friend is talking to her husband and seeing what he thinks. I am going to get ahold of my boss on Tuesday and make sure he won't have a coronary with me taking off about 5 weeks in a 12 week period. So wish me luck...I will let you know what happens? Anyone want to sign up as back up roomie???

I didn't think about the passport thing---I think mine expires next year too (I'll have to double check that).

Ok - sister/new niece update - Sydney is doing well, but it did end up that my sister had to have a hysterectomy. I don't know if they were planning on having another child or not, and while that bothers me, I think the thing that upsets me the most is that Lisa doesn't even know what happened yet. They were finishing up the surgery when my mother called to tell me. I know that she knew it could be a possibility, but that the drs were going to do what they could to not do the hysterectomy.

Can I just say that I'm glad I have NO ice cream in the house right now?!! I'd be cleaning that up if I did.

Congratulations on the birth of your niece!

And hugs :grouphug: to your sister when she learns about the histerectomy.

Hmmm. Guess Yamhill County makes their own laws. :confused3 But you've been in Oregon so you know how it can be in the rural communities. ;)

Last september we rented a room in Atlantis with a travelzoo (I think) special. It was about $ 160. They will only let you book 4 people in the room.

It is awesome, too bad ligthning began and pools were closed around 12:45, so we showered and headed back to the ship, but would do it again.

Hey thanks, I'll look into that. I probably would like to have a room to shower in before going back to the boat. That's a great price. I would need two rooms to cover seven people. I'll check out TravelZoo.
:flower3:

Ok, I am back to the cousin theory. Savannah is EXACTLY the same! Don't make me stand out, don't make me different in any way! It's going to be grandparents day next week and savannah is worried grandpa won't get the bandaids off his head from surgery in time then people will stare...

Yup Kim, more and more I am seeing why these two get along so well. They are very much alike.

Glad they found each other.

I don't know...18 months to convince yourself that you have pirate size naughty bits instead of mickey mouse size naughty bits and wanting to have 500k posts sounds like are trying to make up for something they lack...:rolleyes1

Can I quote this over there????

:rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Nahhhh . . . . let them keep thinking their naughty bits will grow with their posts!

Wow. Sounds like you had it worse than my son does. So far, the dr. doesn't want to go with the allergy shots, thank goodness. His allergies are very much under control with his medication. His pediatrician finally referred us to an allergist just this month because we've been having to give DS his meds daily whereas it used to be just a seasonal thing. I knew something was up and was just hoping it wasn't the cats. DS9 is super-sad the cats can't sleep with him anymore (the boys share a room). He'll be devastated if we have to find a new home for our kitties. :sad1: I'm glad to hear you are allergy-free now. Hoping that DS will grow out of it as well. He's had eczema since birth, and now allergies. We are trying to avoid the asthma, which as you probably know, comes hand-in-hand with the previous two maladies much of the time. Thanks for the support.

Yes, I was pretty bad. One of my two kids has allergies and was grid tested but his allergist didn't recommend shots either. The best advice I can recommend is have him tested regularly, as awful as it is and follow the advice of your allergist. He'll be fine! I will admit, at the time I was getting the shots I dreaded it, as well as the testing, but now as adult I understand why I had to have them and I'm grateful! Hang tough girlie! He'll be AOK!!!

Hi again...had to share my news :-)

Sydney Marie was born at 711pm today the 16th of February :cool1: :cool1: :yay: :woohoo: :cheer2: :dance3: (can you tell I'm happy??)

My mom (dgrandma :rotfl: ) doesn't remember the details - she thinks 6lbs ?oz, no clue about length......doesn't my mom know I NEED TO KNOW this stuff???

On the downside - my sister's in surgery...they may have to do a historectomy (or how ever you spell it). Not sure of the details (sucks not being in MD for this). Would appreciate any/all prayers for her (her name is Lisa).

Can't remember right now who posted the ? about the med repo, Alaskan, and our repo cruise....but if I could swing it I WOULD!!!

Congratulations!!!!! :cutie:

Teri

We are the only local agency that accepts applications for Passports...and every third call we get is something-or-other to do with Passports. If you haven't gotten them by now folks... run, don't walk to your local application accepting agency and go get them done. $700.00 - eeek :scared1:

So, are renewals the same problem? Our expire June '06 but I thought I could just download the form and mail it in w/payment? :confused3

I am actually jealous they have that much time. If I posted that much I would be divorced and in filthy clothes.... gotta figure out how they do it!

Thats what I thought. I read about it online at the state department, sounds much easier than the first time.

Come on over!!! Yes Yes Yes Do it!!! I paid an arm and a leg, but you can't pass up the rates right now.

For those that don't have passports yet, this was our experience today. We have been reluctant to take Jenna out of class for any reason since we received our little nasty letter a few months ago. Today, we took of advantage of her not having school and went to get our passports. We want them for our trip to Belize and Honduras in four weeks (yes we had to pay to have them expedited).

We waited in line for 2 1/2 hours!!! Trust me, with a four and seven year old, this was painful. We had preprinted all our documents off the internet, were very organized with all other documentation we needed also. After our wait, it then took another 45 minutes in the little room! The guy that was helping us said it has been like this for months and is only getting worse. Well, at least it is done. For the four of us, with expedited service, it cost $726!!

We took our kids to the post office two weeks ago on a Saturday morning and we were in and out of there in 30 minutes. Not too bad!!! I'm just hoping it was enough time for our May cruise. They said I didn't need to expedite.

I renewed mine by mail last year about this time. I downloaded the forms, filled them out, got my pictures taken at WalMart and sent it in. I got it back in about 6 weeks.
